The result of dynamic analysis is presented to determine the capacity of the damper system by controlling damping ratio on the resonance condition. It is observed that by installing slip dampers at a PTT the strain amplitudes of the main post caused by wind load are effectively reduced. Therefore it is shown that the proposed damper satisfies the strengthened wind-load design standards, and its efficacy was also validated experimentally by field testing.","PeriodicalId":445819,"journal":{"name":"KEPCO Journal on electric power and energy","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114940877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The general scheme of NCCU process is composed of CO2 carbonation and brine electrolysis process. Through a carbonation reaction with sodium hydroxide that is generated from brine electrolysis and CO2 of the flue gas, it is possible to get high-value-added products such as sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide, hydrogen & chloride and also to reduce the CO2 emission simultaneously. For the techno-economic study on NCCU technology, continuous operation of bench-scale facility which could treat 2 kgCO2/day was performed. and based on the key performance data evaluated, the economic evaluation analysis targeted on the commercial chemical plant, which could treat 6 tons CO2 per day, was performed using the net present value (NPV) metrics. The results showed that the net profit obtained during the whole plant operation was about 7,890 mKRW (million Korean Won) on NPV metrics and annual CO2 reduction was estimated as about 2,000 tCO2. Also it was found that the energy consumption of brine electrolysis is one of the key factors which affect the plant operation cost (ex. electricity consumption) and the net profit of the plant. Based on these results, it could be deduced that NCCU technology of this study could be one of the cost-effective CO2 utilization technology options.","PeriodicalId":445819,"journal":{"name":"KEPCO Journal on electric power and energy","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122190230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, DuPo nt’s Nafion which is a commercial polymer electrolyte membrane has high permeabili ty, high cost, and decreasing proton conductivity and dimensional stability over 80°C. To address these problems, sulfonated poly ether ether ketone (sPEEK) which is a low cost hydrocarbon polymer is selected as matrix polymer for the preparation of polymer elect rolyte membrane. In addition, composite membrane with improved proton conductivity and dimensional stability is prepared by introducing sulfonated graphene oxide (sGO). The fundamental properties of polymer electrolyte membranes are analyzed by investigating membrane’s water content, dimensional stability, proton conductivity, and morphology. The cell test is conducted to consider the possibility of application of sPEEK/sGO composite membrane for an unitized regenerative fuel cell.","PeriodicalId":445819,"journal":{"name":"KEPCO Journal on electric power and energy","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132156677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But it is difficult to ensure reliability due to the low accuracy of section load data, which is used as a basis in estimating the operation capacity. This paper discusses how to improve the accuracy of section load data by analyzing the existing method of estimating the section load, using statistical techniques to adjust the acquired data, and using the section load estimation algorithm to estimate the section load based on the adjusted data. Keywords : DAS, time synchronization, section load, estimation reliability I. INTRODUCTION It is essential to estimate the section load correctly considering the actual status of the line for distribution planning and operation. The existing method of estimating the section load data based on the distribution automation system is not correct and so it is only used for reference in operating the actual distribution systems. The data is not correct, because the useful voltage data is not acquired from the distribution switch and also because the current data is not time-synchronized at the switch and there are some missing data sections.This paper discusses how to improve the accuracy of section load data by analyzing the existing method of using the distribution automation system to estimate the section load and identify problems, using statistical techniques to adjust the acquired data, and using the section load estimation algorithm to estimate the section load based on the adjusted data [1].","PeriodicalId":445819,"journal":{"name":"KEPCO Journal on electric power and energy","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125496049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is important to model the cost-benefit characteristics of Electric vehicle(EV)’s operation considering the negawatt market in real time. This paper proposes a methodology to formulate the various costs and economic benefits for sending the EV’s power back to the grid, including a concept of inconvenience costs caused by operating the EV as a battery. This paper also introduces the general decision-making process based on the cost-benefit analysis in order to simulate the reasonable participation of V2G service. In the case study, it is confirmed by two-case simulations that the proposed approach is useful to help EV owners’ decision-making. In the future, it is expected that the proposed methodology can be used as a decision-making guideline to help prepare the EV’ power transmission.","PeriodicalId":445819,"journal":{"name":"KEPCO Journal on electric power and energy","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128170741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
