However, in the drying process they still use the traditional method of drying in the sun, so this method is less effective because it has to depend on the weather. Therefore there must be a new innovation, namely using a dryer. In this study, the dryer used was an oven that had been designed using a hair dryer as the heat source. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the turmeric dryer with a hair dryer as a heat source. This type of research is a pure experimental research. The research object is an oven-shaped dryer that uses a hair dryer as a heat source. After conducting performance tests, the turmeric dryer can work well. This study uses 3 time variants, namely, 30, 60, and 90 minutes. Testing at 55°C was the most efficient time, namely 90 minutes with an initial weight of 200 grams to 118 grams which experienced higher shrinkage than 30 minutes and 60 minutes. The longer the drying time, the better the drying results.","PeriodicalId":445444,"journal":{"name":"Steam Engineering","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129492684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Disruption of the conveyor which is driven by an electric motor results in the cessation of the coal shipping process, so performance and efficiency in its use must be ensured. The purpose of this research is to see the value of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on PT Mitra Barito barge loading conveyor (BLC), which will later be used as a basis for corrective actions and efforts to increase productivity. The method used in this research is a quantitative method where at this stage the value of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) is calculated which includes three categories of levels of availability, level of performance, and level of quality. Where in looking at the causes of low OEE seen from the proportion of six major losses. The results showed that the average overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) value of 56.19% was considered ineffective because corrective steps still needed to be taken so that it could inhibit barge loading conveyor (BLC) activities. This is affected by slowdowns, tuning, and adjustments, as well as idling and mining stops with high loss proportion values.","PeriodicalId":445444,"journal":{"name":"Steam Engineering","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127566503","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the widely studied alternative energies is electrical energy obtained from plants. The use of electrical energy is due to the increasing population. This increase results in people using electricity to fulfill their activities and lifestyle. An alternative energy from plants is star fruit. Starfruit is acidic and contains many good electrolytes for electricity. The results of the research related to the belief in Wuluh were carried out by researchers. Based on a 2: 1 ratio (earth and star fruit) it can produce 1V of electricity. When this concept is produced in large quantities and connected in series, it can produce greater electrical power. The research was excellent and laid the foundation for the team to develop various concepts. The plan is to manufacture the battery on a large scale so that it can later be used in areas without a power supply.
