Voltage variations are caused in the connection point of PV due to dynamic variability of power flow from these renewable, but intermittent energy sources. This voltage variation can have wide-spread impact to stability of distribution network, where is PV connected. This paper deals with analysis of one year of PV operation (installed capacity of 1.1 MWp), electric energy flows and voltage variation. By simulation software there will be presented results of voltage variation evaluations and load flow evaluations due to PV's operation into primary distribution network.","PeriodicalId":445295,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC)","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115233810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This device provides DC voltage output through its power converter. Parameters such as rotor speed, excitation voltage and firing angles interferes directly on the output voltage. Thus, many strategies have been studied and developed by scientific community in order to control the output voltage or achieve its maximization. This work proposes a driving strategy applied to the SRM that consists in obtaining the optimal firing angles in order to maximize the output voltage for given rotor speed and excitation. Simulations are presented for results analysis.","PeriodicalId":445295,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125351690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The location method is based on the measurement of the voltage in a grounding resistance, connected to the neutral of the excitation transformer. Due to the effect of the rotor capacitance to ground on large synchronous generators, it is observed that waveform of the neutral voltage is perturbed, and it causes an error in the fault location in case of defect in the DC side. Firstly, the influence of the fault resistance value and the fault position is evaluated through computer simulations. Then, the impact of the rotor capacitance in the accuracy of the detection and location method is analyzed in case of ground fault, as well as in healthy operating condition.","PeriodicalId":445295,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129707429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A pumped-storage power plant is an energy source with fast time response consisting of upper and lower reservoir, which has ability to store excess electric energy in the upper reservoir in form of potential energy of water, which is pumped from the lower reservoir. Its importance increases as a tool for transmission system operator to control of power system stability, load balancing and frequency control due to the increase of amount of power generated from renewable energy sources characterized by the fluctuation of power output such as photovoltaic and wind power sources. Usually, it has part of capacity reserved for needs of transmission system operator and the remaining capacity can be used by the plant operator in commercial manner to increase of profit. The aim of the paper is to propose fast algorithm based on dynamic programming to optimize free capacity while complying with all the technical and operational restrictions.","PeriodicalId":445295,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129406378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An effective healer healing approach to accelerate the fault location function of the FLISR process is realized by optimal placement of fault indicators (FIs). A multiple objective function is formulated, and solved using multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO), to simultaneously minimize indispensable economic and technical objectives. To such aim, a summation of total customers' interruption costs and the FIs installation costs are considered as the economic objective function; while, system interruption duration index (SAIDI) is assumed as technical objective function. Moreover, simulations are conducted considering uncertainties of automatic switching. The proposed healer reinforcement approach to improve overall Smart Grid reliability is examined on bus number four of the Roy Billinton test system (RBTS4). Subsequently, the results show that the algorithm can determine the set of optimal non-dominated solutions, which allows planners to select one of the non-dominated solutions based on their expertise. Also, a max-min approach is employed to select the best result among the obtained Pareto optimal set of solutions.","PeriodicalId":445295,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115749646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This problem appears because all the generation groups are connected to the same bus bar. As a result, if a fault occurs in any of the generation groups, or in the bus bar that connect them, the system voltage will have large oscillations. Hence, in weak grids the correct adjustment of AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) is critical. In this work an experimental study of differents AVR adjustments against fault in weak grids is described.","PeriodicalId":445295,"journal":{"name":"2013 13th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering (EEEIC)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127086312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
