This paper examines the possibility of generating the MTI statistic by utilizing a multi-channel ATI processing method. This method is based on a 2D adaptive filtering algorithm, called signal subspace processing, which was developed to blindly calibrate two channels of an along-track monopulse SAR system. The merits of this method are studied using both simulated data and real data from multi-channel airborne radar measurement (MCARM) system.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123197001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivated by the range-parameterized EKF (RPEKF) algorithm used in the problem of bearing-only tracking, we present a practical solution to solve this problem in this article, i.e., height-parameterized EKF (HPEKF). This method could reduce the fuzzy phenomenon in height information of the target. So we can track 3D-targets with a single 2D-radar in an effective way under some conditions.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122607499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach exploits both range information and azimuth information to estimate fractal dimension. Moreover, the approach can increase the number of the data points. The above two merits result in the fractal dimension estimated by this method is more accurate and robust than the previous method. The detection performance is also better than the previous one, which only makes use of 1-dimensional (1-D) information to estimate fractal dimension. Theoretical analysis and experimental result show that the proposed method performs well in strong clutter background. The proposed method is also validated by real-life radar data, and the better result has been achieved.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129119149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many methods are presently available for test and calibration of aperture amplitude and phase errors. In this paper, the angle selection relationship sin/spl theta//sub k/=(/spl lambda/[2k-(L+1)])/2Ld for phased array antenna calibration based on traveling wave technology is proven. We find that if the angle meets the relationship, then the rank of transform matrix is complete and the condition number of transform matrix equals 1, thus, the high precision calibration is achieved. On such a basis, we developed the BIT traveling wave calibration technology for wideband phased array antenna calibration, and named it \"dummy internal spacing method\", |sin/spl theta//sub k/|>1 mistake in 1-D broadband phased array antenna is avoided. Also, the BIT traveling wave technology can be widely applied to 2-D phased array antenna and non-uniform array antenna easily. By application of the \"dummy internal spacing method\", we developed 1-D and 2-D phased antennas, and obtained satisfactory results.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127556401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Non-cooperative transmitters such as non-geostationary navigation and communication satellites can be used in SS-BSAR. BSAR systems have recently been the subject of several studies, but little attention has been given to the potential of the location of targets. In the paper, the performance of the estimation of 3-D position of a target in a multi-look SS-BSAR is obtained analytically and illustrated by computer simulation using ambiguity function analysis and the maximum likelihood estimate approach.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127625192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These improvements allow to work in higher frequencies what gets much better operational features for this kind of systems. High frequencies facilitate to work with wider bandwidths what improves the range resolution thus, important features of the targets can be extracted in order to classify them or even to obtain radar images of them. We address multipath time-delay estimation under the scenario of closely spaced multipath for high range resolution radar, the target scattered signature can be resolved via the estimated channel parameters. By using the prior information of the typical multipath channel structure in radar application, a channel constrained MODE-RELAX algorithm is proposed to estimate the channel parameters. The resolved target signatures are used to evaluate the classification performance. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm can estimate the time-delay very well for many cases, and the classification performance can be improved via the resolved signal.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"1 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120915034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, the accumulation time isn't subject to the restriction due to target motion. Thus radar's system design turns more flexible. Keystone transform is a technique of range migration correction in the field of SAR. However, it hasn't reported to apply this method to PD radar. At the same, because of the increase of accumulation time, the Doppler resolution of radar is improved greatly, which provides an approach for mini-Doppler resolution. Therefore, it is hopeful to apply keystone transform to the field of decoy identification.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115773161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been known for some time that radars on ships operating in regions near land are often subject to clutter amplitudes that vary significantly from these models, and this is due to anomalous propagation, or ducting. This paper describes the littoral clutter model (LCM) developed by Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division and its validation against recorded radar data. LCM includes propagation modeling and is an extension of both the GIT sea clutter, and Billingsley land clutter models. The model compares favorably to measured land and sea clutter amplitudes in the presence of ducting.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127048224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conventional means of increasing angular resolution are to implement monopulse, which will effectively split the real antenna beamwidth down by a factor of 10 or 20, or to increase the size of the antenna aperture, either through making the physical antenna larger or through synthetic aperture means. Increases in antenna physical size are limited by form factor, weight and economics, while synthetic aperture techniques require both time (i.e. coherent processing interval) and either motion of the target of the antenna platform. In the following paper, an innovative super-resolution technique called scanned time/angle correlation (STAC) is introduced. The STAC technique is capable of effectively splitting the real antenna beamwidth by a factor or a 1000 or more, doesn't require a separate channel or front-end hardware, and does not require synthetic aperture processing.","PeriodicalId":444253,"journal":{"name":"IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005.","volume":"12 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131966388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
