A mid-band discrete wavelet transform coefficients of the selected frames are chosen to be the hosted region in the frequency domain. An inverse transformation should be taken in order to get the desired watermarked video shot. In extraction process the watermark is extracted from the marked video directly without access to the original video. The experiment results showed that the proposed scheme provides better quality watermarked videos in term of watermark invisibility to human eyes. The slurry is applied during final fine polishing for scanning electron microscopy (SEM) sample preparation in failure analysis. The three main factors, slurry concentration, polishing time and down pressure have been evaluated to maintain or improve the SEM images quality while reducing slurry consumables cost. At present, only EEG and related methods, which have relatively short time constants, can function in most environments, they also require relatively simple and inexpensive equipment. In this paper we propose a mental task classification algorithm using a particle swarm optimization (PSO) for a radial basis neural network. Features are extracted from EEG signals that are recorded during five mental tasks, namely baseline-resting, mathematical multiplication, geometric figure rotation, letter composing and visual counting. PCA features extracted from the task signals are used the neural net to classify different combinations of two mental tasks. The goal of our work is to assist radiologists' image interpretation and thus allow the early diagnosis of osteoporosis. To achieve this goal, we propose a software system known as AVFAS, short for Automatic Vertebral Fracture Assessment System. Our proposed system consists of three modules which we named as the medical image training & verification system (MITVS), medical image measurement & decision system (MIMDS) and medical image registration system (MIRS). The MITVS deals with the extraction of feature vectors from example images, training the extracted feature vectors and verifying the similarity between the extracted feature vectors based on the active shape model (ASM) and stores the result as text file. The MIMDS module provides the interface for image pre-processing procedures which includes region of interest (ROI) selection, image enhancement, similarity matching between features extracted from the query visual and those stored in the database. Finally, the MIRS module provides method to combine patient data via text file and image queries. The first concern deals with developing abstract model at application entity which is defined independently from presentation entity. Regarding to this matter, the context data format have been constructed as higher and lower abstraction model presented in OWL and XML instance. The second concern deals with mapping lower abstraction model to exchange format. JSON exchange format is proposed in this paper as the alternative to the incumbent XML. The context data format, which is constructed at lower abstraction model, has been transformed to JSON by applying XSLT rule. A Malay spoken digit database which contains 100 speakers is used for the testing and validation modules. It is shown that, by using the proposed combination technique, a total success rate (TSR) of 99.97% is achieved and it is an improvement of 11.24% in performance compared to HMM. In this paper a new method of control will be implemented to a power systems stabilizer. This approach uses the artificial immune controller called the improved varela immune network controller or IVINC. This scheme requires only one parameter which is a stator resistance in order to estimate the stator flux-linkage, hence the electromagnetic torque can be directly calculated. In practice, a wide variation in stator resistance can occur due to a large temperature variation. Thus, the mismatch between estimated and actual stator resistances will deteriorate the performance of DTC by introducing errors in the stator flux estimation particularly at low speed. Consequently, the torque performance will be degraded. This paper presents the study on stability and performances of DTC due to stator resistance variation. This paper investigates the potential faults that could occur during fabrication and long term operation of a tuneable bandpass filter using MEMS switches. The causes of the filter defects and the resulting filter response will be identified, simulated and co- related, with the final aim of being able to identify the defects by measuring the faulty responses in the future. The different defects are simulated using SONNET to obtain the response of the faulty filter. Parameters such as insertion loss and return loss of the tuneable filter vary for different faults. In the future study, the defects will be recreated and tested experimentally to corroborate simulation findings.
