This article aims to understand the fundamental teachings of the Khawarij group in the past and its influence today, such as the basic principles of their thinking and the dangers posed by Khawarij ideology. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a literature review, which involves gathering data from relevant primary and secondary sources related to the research topic. The results of this study indicate that the fundamental teachings of the Khawarij group in the past and its influence today share similarities in their basic principles, namely extreme thinking and rejection of thoughts outside their group. However, the Khawarij group today has various teachings and understandings. The article also concludes that a misguided understanding of the teachings of the Khawarij group can jeopardize the security and peace in the religious and social lives of the Muslim community.","PeriodicalId":443274,"journal":{"name":"JUSPI (Jurnal Sejarah Peradaban Islam)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114113736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the purpose of this service is to analyze and describe inventory, preservation and digitization activities at the Jambi City Museum. This community service uses a Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach. The results of this dedication show that many of the manuscripts that are in the Jambi City Museum and which are still in the private collection of the community are historical sources for Jambi City. To record these manuscripts, an inventory was carried out. Meanwhile, to maintain the preservation of manuscripts at the Jambi City Museum, physical and non-physical preservation activities as well as digitization of manuscripts were carried out. This article argues that there are still some deficiencies which are considered for evaluation by the Jambi City Museum regarding the preservation of manuscripts as historical sources in Jambi. Both related to improving the quality of human resources, the availability of tools and equipment for preservation, as well as the involvement of various parties in the process of preserving manuscripts.","PeriodicalId":443274,"journal":{"name":"JUSPI (Jurnal Sejarah Peradaban Islam)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130270778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study discussed how the classification of science in Al-Farabi's work. The method used is content analysis on a book written by Al-Farabi, namely Kitab Ihsha' al-'Ulum. The discussion of the book reveals that it does not state that there is a dichotomy of the sciences. Al-Farabi, only does division or classification of knowledge both ontology, epistemology and axiology. Al-Farabi, mentions various terms that are almost the same but semantically contain hierarchical meanings. The term is taqsim/aqsam or division, shinfun/ashnaf or part and juz'un/ajzaun or the smallest part. This illustrates that what al-Farabi did was collect and calculate (Ihsha') the diversity (ta'did) of knowledge in his time and then detail (tafsil) these sciences down to the smallest part so that the levels (maratib) of knowledge were known. Al-Farabi divides knowledge into two parts, namely: Theoretical Sciences (al-'Ulum al-Nadzoriyah), and Practical Sciences (al-'Ulum al-'Amaliyah wa al-Falsafatu al-Madaniyah). This division can be seen from the division of knowledge into five articles which describe these sciences into theoretical and practical terms and Practical Sciences (al-'Ulum al-'Amaliyah wa al-Falsafatu al-Madaniyah). This activity was held with the aim of strengthening ties of friendship between NU Muslimat administrators, branch children, and village communities with various tribes in East OKU. First held in 2004, this quarterly recitation was held after going through several stages of deliberation to determine the place, time of activity, speakers, implementing committee, and funding. Apart from being an event to strengthen friendship ties, this quarterly recitation activity can also become a science major that is beneficial to students and pilgrims. In this study, participants can add religious knowledge, be more obedient to Allah, and gain religious insight. Quarterly recitation is also able to create positive socio-cultural values. The use of Muslim batik uniforms by all NU Muslim members in this activity can create a sense of oneness among them. Even the local community seemed enthusiastic about this activity, with the appearance of impromptu sellers who sold various goods to the recitation congregation. This activity is beneficial not only for NU Muslimat administrators and congregations but also for the general public who take part in it.","PeriodicalId":443274,"journal":{"name":"JUSPI (Jurnal Sejarah Peradaban Islam)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122750769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
