The modulation of the control parameter (gain) is done by repeatedly applying a linear ramp to the discharge current. As the gain never takes the stationary value associated with the instantaneous current value, the observed bifurcation is delayed with respect to the time at which the control parameter passes through the instability [1].","PeriodicalId":441335,"journal":{"name":"Nonlinear Dynamics in Optical Systems","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126642592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The phenomenon of multistability and the structure of the set of solutions are analytically described. The regions of the existence and the initial conditions at which their realization is possible have been determined. The possibility of the system’s complicated behaviour is shown and the sequence of bifurcations leading to chaos has been found.","PeriodicalId":441335,"journal":{"name":"Nonlinear Dynamics in Optical Systems","volume":"48 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127725320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, from a theoretical point of view the characterization of the transient statistics of a SML beyond the linear regime has not been considered in detail. [3-5] Nevertheless, it has been possible to analyze both the linear and non-linear regimes for class A lasers,[6] showing that the transient statistics during the non-linear regime constitute a mapping of the transient statistics in the linear regime. In this case, an approximate solution for a switch-on event can be constructed (QDT approximation, [7]) which allows to examine the correspondence between the transient statatistics in both regimes. The main difficulty for a SML arises from the fact that no analytical solution of the deterministic rate equations is known, though it has been shown numerically[3, 4] that the QDT approximation succesfully explains the transient statistics in both the linear and non-linear regimes. Accordingly, we expect that the transient statistics in the non-linear regime can be understood as a mapping of the Passage Time (PT) statistics. The reason is that the random PT t* - defined as the time when the intensity reaches a reference value I\u0000 r\u0000 – determines both the beginning of a deterministic stage of evolution and the initial conditions for this period,[3-5] which lasts until the vicinity of the asymptotic steady state is reached.","PeriodicalId":441335,"journal":{"name":"Nonlinear Dynamics in Optical Systems","volume":"321 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132279152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis is based on constructing the Lyapunov functionals. We have determined the conditions for stable self-channelling of a light wave, its unlimited spreading, complication and chaos of transverse spatial distribution of radiation. It is demonstrated that a multithreshold self-channelling arises in nonlinear systems with several different focusing nonlinearities. The multistability phenomenon is discovered in the case of combination of focusing and defocusing nonlinearities.","PeriodicalId":441335,"journal":{"name":"Nonlinear Dynamics in Optical Systems","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130451182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
