However, it can be difficult to identify case studies because they are published in a variety of venues from business schools to traditional journals to textbooks or open access online. On the other hand, some premier case studies, such as those published in Harvard Business Review, are well known but present barriers to curricular use due to cost and licensing restrictions. In 2016 SAGE Publishing released a new product to the business cases market, SAGE Business Cases, which seeks to improve access, use, and enrichment of business case studies for students and faculty.","PeriodicalId":44062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship","volume":"27 1","pages":"298 - 303"},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2022-07-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45874947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Communication logs of support interactions with an embedded librarian and discussion board posts within the learning management system were analyzed. The number of and primary reason for communication by email, individual instruction meetings, and discussion board views, replies, and questions from January 2021 to August 2021 with a total of 318 students in graduate level business courses with an embedded librarian were analyzed. The primary reason for interaction and support was equally divided between research and citation support. Graduate students preferred to interact with the embedded librarian by email followed by individual instruction meetings. The communication tools within the learning management system were essential to providing support to graduate business students.","PeriodicalId":44062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship","volume":"27 1","pages":"215 - 226"},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2022-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41946443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Warm-Up Phase includes steps one to four: (1) establishing a sense of urgency, (2) creating the guiding coalition, (3) developing a vision and strategy, and (4) The Introducing New Practices Phase comprises steps five to seven: (5) empowering broad-based action, (6) generating short-term wins, and (7) consolidating gains and producing more change. Finally, the Grounding Phase is comprised of the eighth step, anchoring new approaches in the culture. Upon reading Boff and Cardwell’s introduction, the reader will have a rudimentary knowledge of change management and Kotter’s model. Boff and Cardwell’s text is exquisitely well organized. As mentioned, there is an introduction that relates Kotter’s model. Boff and Cardwell logically divide the case study examples around the themes of Strategic Planning, Reorganization, Culture Change, New Roles, and Technological Changes. Each part has four case study chapters and an analysis chapter by Boff and Cardwell.","PeriodicalId":44062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship","volume":"27 1","pages":"230 - 232"},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2022-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42178604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reviewing and comparing years of annual reports can provide a rich history of knowledge on a corporation. Preserving, storing, and digitizing Canadian annual reports has been a mission of the C.B. “Bud” Johnston Library in London, Ontario, Canada. In late 2019 when Western Libraries migrated to a new library services platform, Alma, there was a new opportunity to catalog and provide access to the digitized annual reports collection. This article describes a decade long plan to digitize the print collection by library staff and a subsequent project to provide online access to the digitized content. Included is a discussion of cataloging methods, staffing, training, inventory control, and hosting solutions.","PeriodicalId":44062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship","volume":"27 1","pages":"176 - 194"},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2022-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45022499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, there is a need for LIS professionals to proactively explore ways to create jobs based on their professional skills and knowledge, rather than wait to be employed. This paper identifies and discusses areas of information driven entrepreneurial opportunities available for LIS professionals in Nigeria and highlights how competitive intelligence could be applied as a strategic tool to start their own businesses by putting LIS skills into practice. It also highlights the necessary skills required for entrepreneur startup and its sustainability as well as the benefits of being a librapreneur.","PeriodicalId":44062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship","volume":"27 1","pages":"159 - 175"},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2022-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46501290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study uses publication data from 2015 to 2018, and analyses the school’s four departments and their research sections. Four questions are examined: type of documents cited, most-cited journals, age of cited materials, and to what extent the library provides access to these materials. The analysis seeks to provide a better understanding of the similarities and differences across citation cultures, to respond to faculty research needs and to facilitate collection management decisions.","PeriodicalId":44062,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Finance Librarianship","volume":"27 1","pages":"127 - 153"},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2022-03-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46052961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
