Conflicts in the utilization of MPAs had been a challenge for many years. Fishing activities within the MPAs are real threat for the sustainability of marine resources. In the Philippines, direct visual observation of the responsible agencies is the only method to identify the entry of fishing vessels in the MPAs. This paper presents an IoT-based system for monitoring the fishing vessels’ entry in the MPA. The system uses Haversine method for computing the distance between the fishing vessel and the MPA. The distance had been classified to provide different location status to the fishing vessel and Web interface. LoRa communications module was utilized in the study and was able to transmit geographical information from the fishing vessel to the base station within few kilometers. The Web interface with Google Maps API allows the end user to remotely monitor clearly the entry of fishing vessel in the MPA.","PeriodicalId":439440,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICoICT)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116575743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many research in the area of virtual password have been proposed to overcome keylogger attacks. Unfortunately, current methods are still lack of complexities and have a short cracking time. Several research have partially overcome these problems. However, the proposed methods work only in the plain text domain which is vulnerable to the privacy and security attacks. To overcome this problem, we proposed a virtual password scheme that generates dynamic length of a random password consisting of both uppercase and lowercase alphabets, numbers, and symbols. Importantly, our method is also able to compare user’s password despite it is hashed. With an efficient algorithm that help this method’s computation time somewhat similar with regular login, the cracking time and complexity of this method are superior which scores 174 on password complexity and calculated to be cracked after 10,000+ and 9 centuries by brute force attack using a personal computer and conficker botnets respectively.","PeriodicalId":439440,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICoICT)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122457177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cosmic rays have been detected up to particle energies around 1020 eV and are the highest energy particles in the present Universe. In spite of a reasonable number of events already collected by large experiments around the world, their origin is still largely unknown. One of the most important topics is an identification of the primary particle initializing a development of air showers in the atmosphere. One of widely used techniques of detection are water Cherenkov detectors (WCD) spread on a large area allowing a registration of detector crossing particles.Simulation packages a) CORSIKA (simulated a development of air showers in the atmosphere) and b) Offline (simulated a photo-multipliers response in the WCD) allow a analysis of expected ADC traces in the detector electronics. As up to now neutrino-origin traces are practically not detected, it is crucial to solve a problem: either the neutrino stream is too rare for detector or the detector technique is not oriented enough for neutrino events. The paper analyses three methods which could be used for a support of the standard triggers.","PeriodicalId":439440,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICoICT)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130549878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite hailing from a newly-industrialised economy, revamping traditional processes has been the recent target of the Mauritius Fire Rescue Services (MFRS). However, it is important to know how the MFRS works operationally, to propose an adequate architecture which will fit their requirements. Interviews and surveys have been performed to understand the current operations of the MFRS while focussing on incident management. High level conceptual architectures are derived before formulating an Enterprise Architecture (EA) for the Main Control Room (MCR) which supports incident management. Due to weak computational efficiency and short battery life of these devices, MR applications performance can be hampered. Offloading the burden of MR application to the cloud server can be a solution to this problem but this approach also creates high communication latency. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is an emerging technology which brings cloud close to the user proximity at the base station and utilizes radio access network for maintaining communication with the users. This paper presents a MEC based MR application for assisting blind and visually impaired people. In the proposed scheme, the computational task is offloaded to the nearest MEC server in order to prolong the battery life of the MR devices. Finally, experimental results based on latency and energy consumption are discussed in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":439440,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICoICT)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124908079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the benefit of remote access and un-cooperative subjects, gait recognition has gained attention in biometric-based identification. Gait recognition can be achieved by extraction distinct features by using hard-craft feature extraction and deep-learned features. Due to the disadvantage of hand-craft feature extraction that is not easily scalable for the diverse dataset, we proposed the convolutional neural network for feature learning in this paper. We presented simple ten layers’ convolutional network architecture with the Gait Energy Image as the input. Since gait recognition requires long training time, we use different activation functions in order to evaluate the result in term of classification accuracy and computational time. As for the activation functions, we utilized Rectified Linear Unit (ReLU), Leaky Rectified Linear Unit (LeakyReLU) and Parametric Rectified Linear Unit (PReLU) within the same CNN architecture. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method achieved the excellent recognition rate of 98.8% with less training time using CASIA-B Gait dataset.","PeriodicalId":439440,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICoICT)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131528488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on that fact, stock price become very difficult to be predicted or even estimated. Therefore, analysis of stock price movement predictions is heavily required as investment decision reference for investor. This paper uses technical analysis with Artificial Neural Network Backpropagation method as one of machine learning methodology which has commonly used along with rapid development of data mining and big data analytic that produces a prediction with high accuracy and the least error. The objects in this paper were four companies in the agricultural and mining sector, which was among Kompas100 index with the largest market capitalization in the period of 2013 to 2018. Based on the results of research with several variations of the experiment using varying hidden layer values 10, 20, 30 with variations in SGD values: 0.01, 0.001 and 0.0001 as well as variations in epoch 100, 200 and 300 values, resulting in network predictive models that provide training with error rates the minimum error is in the 5-20-1 model with a value of SGD 0.01 and epoch 300.
