The mothers were divided into two groups (G1 and G2) according to their type of allocation (Kangaroo Unit and Rooming-in). It was done an assertiveness test and guidelines with the mothers, focusing on breastfeeding, language, orofacial motricity/ speech and hearing aspects. Based on such aspects, guidelines were made and the acceptance test applied. In order to characterize the affirmatives and compare the knowledge between the groups, it was applied the Birnbaum's Three-Parameter Unidimensional Model, based on the Item Response Theory, and Mann-Whitney U Test for the estimated knowledge, with p 85%.Results Concerning the assertiveness test, the highest percentage of correct answers was achieved by language (G1=98%; G2=95%), followed by orofacial motricity/ speech (G1=45%; G2=39%) and audition (G1=36%; G2=30%). There were no statistical significant relationship between hospitalization time and knowledge. 97% accepted the guidelines.Conclusion This health guidelines activity provided access to information, independently of time or type of hospitalization of the nursing mothers. Rodrigues, Camila Miranda Loiola-Barreiro, Tânia Pereira, Mariza Cavenaghi Argentino Pomilio","doi":"10.1590/S2317-64312015000200001453","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1590/S2317-64312015000200001453","url":null,"abstract":"Purpose To identify the age at diagnosis, intervention and amplification, pre and post Newborn Hearing Screening (NHS) implantation into a hearing health service and to compare with the indicators proposed by Joint Committee on Infant Hearing.Methods Three hundred and thirteen files of children enrolled in the auditory rehabilitation sector were analyzed, verifying if the newborn hearing screening and its results were performed, suspicion and age at the diagnosis, intervention and amplification and if they reach the recommended indicators: 3 months for diagnosis and 6 months for intervention.Results Children identified by the NHS were diagnosed and started the intervention sooner than those who did not perform newborn hearing screening. Considering the institutional demand pre and post NHS implementation, there was a reduction of intervention and amplification ages, post newborn hearing screening implementation. Regardless the NHS outcome (pass/fail), screened children had advantage when compared to the non-screened ones, once, among those screened, the diagnosis, intervention and amplification were anticipated. Resende","doi":"10.1590/2317-6431-2015-1589","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1590/2317-6431-2015-1589","url":null,"abstract":"Objetivo Realizar uma analise descritiva do desempenho de pacientes encaminhados a um hospital de uma instituicao de ensino publico, para avaliacao do processamento auditivo, e correlacionar os achados desta avaliacao a idade, queixas, resultados e as avaliacoes auditivas comportamental e eletrofisiologica.Metodos O estudo incluiu 159 individuos encaminhados pelo sistema publico de saude para avaliacao do processamento auditivo. Todos os participantes realizaram audiometria tonal liminar, medidas de imitância acustica, testes comportamentais do processamento auditivo e avaliacao eletrofisiologica da audicao.Resultados A principal queixa referida foi a de dificuldade de aprendizagem e os testes que avaliam processamento temporal e escuta dicotica foram os que apresentaram maior prevalencia de alteracao. Em todos os testes eletrofisiologicos, o numero de resultados normais foi superior aos alterados. A proporcao de individuos normais e alterados, nos testes comportamentais e eletrofisiologicos, nao diferiu em relacao ao genero. Houve correlacao fraca entre fechamento auditivo e potencial evocado auditivo de media latencia da orelha direita; potencial evocado auditivo de media latencia da orelha esquerda e potencial evocado auditivo de media latencia total; ordenacao temporal e efeito eletrodo direito e P300; processamento temporal e potencial evocado auditivo de media latencia da orelha direita; escuta dicotica e P300 e entre interacao binaural e reflexo acustico das orelhas direita e esquerda.Conclusao A dificuldade de aprendizagem prevaleceu sobre as queixas dos participantes e as habilidades de processamento temporal e escuta dicotica apresentaram maior prevalencia de alteracao. A maioria dos participantes foi encaminhada para a avaliacao do processamento auditivo pelo fonoaudiologo. O metodo de analise baseou-se em sete sessoes de atendimento fonoaudiologico de uma paciente com 61 anos de idade, diagnosticada com APP. Os dados foram analisados de forma qualitativa, a partir da Neurolinguistica Enunciativo-Discursiva. Os resultados sugerem que a paciente apresentava a variante Logopenica da APP, com as seguintes caracteristicas: fala com estrutura gramatical reservada, manutencao da compreensao de palavras isoladas e de frases preservadas, durante a conversacao na interacao dialogica. As dificuldades de fluencia referiram-se as ocorrencias de repeticao em palavras longas e menos cotidianas, parafasias fonologicas, pausas disfluentes e anomia. A analise tambem apontou modificacao progressiva nos sintomas, com aumento do numero de repeticoes e alteracao de sua forma de ocorrencia. Essas modificacoes parecem indicar uma relacao inversamente proporcional entre fluencia de fala e avanco da doenca, em que a fluencia tende a deterioracao. Estrategia de pesquisa Conduziu-se uma busca entre abril de 2003 e abril de 2013, usando as palavras chave “functional magnetic resonance imaging” or“fMRI” and “dysphagia” e“functional magnetic resonance imaging” or“fMRI” and “swallowing” na base de dados PubMed. Criterios de selecao Os estudos foram revisados por analise de seus titulos eabstracts e os criterios de inclusao utilizados foram: pesquisas envolvendo seres humanos, utilizacao de exames neurofuncionais, referencia a funcao de degluticao, analise de populacao adulta e/ou idosa, relacao com patologias neurologicas. Resultados A estrategia de busca resultou em 1167 citacoes, das quais apenas 35 preencheram os criterios de elegibilidade. Conclusao A ressonância magnetica funcional foi considerada segura e viavel para a avaliacao de areas corticais envolvidas na degluticao. Methods A hospital-based study conducted with 71 postpartum women in hospital bed. Data was collected through questionnaires, one on social/economic factors and another one on knowledge about breastfeeding. Results Among the interviewed mothers, one did not attend the prenatal visits and 48 received some information about breastfeeding. All mothers knew that children who are breastfed are less exposed to diseases; 44 knew that until the sixth month of life, the child does not need water or any other supplement. About social/economic and knowledge aspects, there was a significant positive association between the two – i.e., postpartum mothers with higher family income tended to have a higher percentage of correct answers. Conclusion Evidence from this study demonstrated that mothers are well informed about breastfeeding.
