Formulations like Dashamoolarishta , Pushkaramoolasava , Sarivadyasava , Maharasnadi kwatha , are few Asava- arishta (Medicated Fermented products) preparations used in the management of various disorders. Asava- arishta (Medicated Fermented products) formulations contain 9 – 10 % of self generated alcohol which will help in extracting the alcohol soluble ingredients as well as help in preservation of active principles for a longer time. Chandanasava is one such preparation which is used in the treatment of urinary disorders and diseases of the skin. There is a greater need to develop antiviral drugs with better efficacy, safety, oral bioavailability, utility at both prophylaxis and treatment stages and at last which prevents drug resistance. Medicinal plants have great potential to fulfil above requirements. Several plants provide a rich source for drug discovery against both infectious and non-infectious diseases. Many plant metabolites possess broad-spectrum antiviral action. Plant kingdom is very diverse and is an unlimited source of new drugs. Plant extracts can prove to be more effective, safe and economical to areas which have limited resources. This article is an attempt to highlight the potent antiviral action of some medicinal plants; which may be beneficial in providing important lead in developing new antiviral drugs. The test drug (Hargouri ras) was prepared in N.I.A pharmacy, under the supervision of experts and then procured for further research. Rasashastra, a branch of Ayurveda, exclusively deals with various types of metals and minerals, their origins, processing procedures, qualities, therapeutic benefits, the potential for detrimental consequences, and how to control them. Ayurvedic text books mention a variety of preparations for the treatment of cancer. Hargouri ras is the Sidha prayog latika's reference medication. It is made by mixing equal amounts of Raskarpura (HgCl2), Hartal (As2S3), and Somal (As2O3) and is recommended for Karkatak arbuda (cancer). The current study presents macroscopic and microscopic analyses in several solvents/reagents to assist in the correct identification of the mineral compound, which detects and prevents any adulteration(s). The problem now is to use established methodologies to certify the plant's therapeutic efficacy and safety. The virus was identified as the cause of an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown cause in Wuhan City in China in December 2019. The clinical presentation is that of a respiratory infection with a symptom severity ranging from a mild common cold like illness, to a severe viral pneumonia leading to acute respiratory distress syndrome that is potentially fatal. Nearly 2ooooo cases and approximately 9000 deaths have been reported globally (as of 20 March 2020). Global impact of Ayurveda, the Indian medical system, in field of health and medicine, carries sound background of scientific theories and applied therapies. All the Acharya of Ayurveda have mentioned various measures for maintaining the eye in healthy way which includes usage of diet and medicine judicially. There are many topics in ayurveda classics about which we have limited knowledge like Chakshushya dravyas. There are various Chakshushya dravyas are described in Ayurvedic literature both in Bruhatrayi and Laghutrayi. Bhavprakash Nighantu is one among these Samhitas of laghutrayi. This deals with Dravyaguna. The reason behind choosing Bhavprakash Nighantu for the study is its karmapradhanya. Two types of chakshushya dravyas are described in this Nighantu, one is Chakshu hitakaraka i.e., beneficial for eyes and other is Chakshu rogahara i.e used for treating eye disorders. How these Chakshushyadravyas are doing their work on Chakshurindriys is not mentioned by any author.
