More accurate blood vessel segmentation from fundus images plays key role for screening of diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. This paper has made significant contributions by developing linear structuring element for blood vessel detection using OpenCV. The proposed method involves three stages namely; pre-processing, generation of linear structuring element and detection of blood vessels from fundus image, In first stage, color fundus images are pre-processed or enhanced as these images often suffer from uneven illumination, low contrast and noise. In second stage, twelve linear structuring elements are generated and finally, in the third stage, blood vessel segmentation algorithm is applied to improve the extraction of diagnostic features such as microaneurysms and hemorrhages, leading to more accurate detection of diabetic retinopathy.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120953063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Discretization plays a key step for the practical realization of the fractional operator on hardware. Among the various available techniques of discretization, we have chosen a direct method of discretization using the Tustin operator and combined with the continued fraction expansion to get more effective discretized transfer function and realized the same on FPGA processor. Nowadays, in the domain of real-time applications in the digital world, FPGA emanated as the best alternative with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, highly flexible and reliable with simple design cycle, lower complexity, effective product cost, field reprogrammability, reusability, and reliability. In this paper, the designed module of the fractional operator in the form of fractional integrator and differentiator of order 0.5 is implemented on programmable logic design software Quartus II and verified on DEO Nano Board (Cyclone IV FPGA family of company Altera). The performance of hardware realized module is analyzed in frequency and time domain, and results are examined with its MATLAB counterpart.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121257895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Low dose CT Scan images are used for the detection of Lung Cancer. The first step is to detect the pulmonary nodules in lungs. LUNA16 data has 888 CT scans with annotated nodules in the CT scans. The annotation has coordinates of the lung nodules. A 32 x 32 x 32 cube is made around the nodules with nodule as the centre. A 3D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is used to detect nodules using these cubes. For Lung Cancer detection, Data Science Bowl 2017 Kaggle competition data is used. It has 1595 CT scans. Lung nodules are predicted on this data using the nodule detector by running on the CT scans as grids. An ROI mask for lungs is applied to the CT scan using Image Processing. The predicted nodules coordinates are used to make cubes around nodules as the same size as before and a second 3D CNN is used to predict cancer using it. The model achieves precision and recall of 89.24% and 82.17% respectively.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114066755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work has categorized into three major tasks. One of our tasks is a simulation of wormhole attack in an ad hoc network environment with multiple wormhole tunnels. A next task is the characterization of packet attributes that lead to feature selection. Consequently, we perform data generation and data collection operation that provide large volume dataset. The final task is applied to machine learning technique for wormhole attack detection. Prior to this, a wormhole attack has detected using traditional approaches. In those, a Multirate-DelPHI is shown best results as detection rate is 90%, and the false alarm rate is 20%. We conduct experiments and illustrate that our method performs better resulting in all statistical parameters such as detection rate is 93.12% and false alarm rate is 5.3%. Furthermore, we have also shown results on various statistical parameters such as Precision, F-measure, MCC, and Accuracy.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121467160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The routing protocols are extensively used in networking today to identify the shortest path. As technology is evolving in the wireless networks, Internet of Things (IoT), etc., routing protocols also need to be modified. The paper provides an overview of how routing protocols have changed from wired to wireless networks and for IoTs, different categories of the routing for wired and wireless networks. Though wired network provides fast and reliable communication as compared to wireless, due to the need of the internet everywhere, the wireless is preferred over wired. All three categories use the different IEEE standard for data transfer. The analysis of various routing protocols given in this paper may help the upcoming researchers to get a quick review of the existing protocol for wired, wireless and IoT networks.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124475262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To overcome this major issue, this plant leaf disease detection technique can be applied to detect a disease from the input images. This process involved steps like image pre-processing, image segmentation, feature extraction. Furthur K Nearest Neighbor (KNN) classification is applied on the outcome of these three stages. Fast and accurate retrieval of the images is always essential in particular when the bandwidths are scarce. Many CBIR algorithms are available in the literature for various databases. This paper proposes a CBIR algorithm for improving the retrieval accuracy from COIL 20 and COIL 100. Both the databases are basically shape based ones. Even though many shape based descriptors are available image moments play an important role in the description of the shape. Some moments which are extensively used are Hu's moments, Fourier Mellin Moments, Zernike Moments, Legendre Moments, Gaussian Hermite moments, Chebycheff moments. In this work, an algorithm using Gaussian Hermite moments and SVM is proposed. Medium Gaussian kernel is used in the SVM. A cross validation of 10 fold is used for the simulations for COIL 20 database. 25% hold out validation is used for COIL 100 database due to its large size. Performance metrics used are precision and recall in addition to the average retrieval efficiency. An average retrieval accuracy of 100% is obtained for COIL 20 database. For COIL 100, the maximum average retrieval accuracy is 99.5%. 100% precision and recall are obtained for both the databases. Results are obtained with few features, the proposed algorithm is fast compared to many algorithms. Proposed algorithm is compared with the state of the art algorithms available in the literature.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132339016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This elastic nature of the cloud environment-attracts more users ranging from individual ones to big enterprises. The increasing use of cloud resource necessitates the need for better and efficient resource management techniques for the cloud. In this paper, we focus on one such key resource management technique which is demand forecasting. It is important to forecast the demand because, under provisioning of resources results in violation of the service level agreement with the cloud users. Contrarily, over provisioning of resources results in resource wastage such as network and power usage. Therefore, we propose a seasonality based demand forecasting system. This system uses Holt-Winter's time series approach for demand forecasting in the real time non-linear cloud environment. Then we analyze the performance of our model for short term and long term forecasting. We also measure the accuracy of our proposed system using MAPE values.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130119524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with these advantages, it has some negative sides as well which brings aggression towards some section of people. Such aggression, hatred in social media needs to be detected and prevented automatically which is the main objective of our work. We have worked on Hindi, English and Hindi-English (code-mixed) datasets. We used features like word vectors, aggressive words (manually created dictionary), sentiment scores, parts of speech and emojis for the classification task. We experimented with several machine learning and deep learning models and the results indicate that XGBoost Classifier, Gradient Boosting Classifier (GBM) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) are most suited for the task. Therefore the output of the three classifiers were used for majority voting which provides f-scores of 68.13, 54.82 and 55.31 for the English, Hindi and code-mixed datasets respectively.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130152814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Doctors are passing too much busy time in their chamber, and due to the shortage of time, it's not possible for them to measure weight, height, pulse rate, and BMI of their patient. But these essential parameters are directly related to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Some doctors appoint an assistant to take these data, but to collect these data quickly, they frequently made mistakes. For this reason, we are presenting here a system which can measure weight, height, and calculate BMI of patients in a concise time with considerable accuracy and precision. These data are transferred to a device placed at doctors table. The device placed at the doctor's table can also measure the pulse rate, and all the parameters are shown in an LCD. Also, the device shows the patient health status following the ideal BMI chart. The system consists of a microcontroller, LCD display, RF transmitter-receiver, height sensor, weight sensor, and pulse sensor. We believe that this system would be a great helping hand to quantify medical diagnosis and treatment.","PeriodicalId":438405,"journal":{"name":"2019 10th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134302070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
