Depending on the power plant’s locations and the generator output power, a sudden generator outage may bring a problem of SOS or some more severe oscillations with the matching power generation load levels leading to the emergency contingency problems of transient stability, even may cause the loss of synchronism in power system. Using the transient potential and kinetic energies in combination with the transient voltage stability estimation, we propose a formula to determine the values of breakdown reserve stability estimation (BRSE) for assessing the power plant’s transient structures in case of sudden generator outages. This paper also proposes an algorithm modeling the power network’s non-linearity caused by the transient oscillation concerning a sudden generator outage occurring in one of the power plants operated in a multi-machine power system. The typical results are shown in this paper to prove the advantages of the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":438265,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Conference on Power, Energy and Electrical Engineering (CPEEE)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126258773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vorayos","doi":"10.1109/CPEEE54404.2022.9738715","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/CPEEE54404.2022.9738715","url":null,"abstract":"Thailand’s industry is a prime sector that consumes a significant amount of energy throughout its supply chain and operations This paper aims to evaluate the energy and environmental efficiency of Thailand’s industry with the implementation of energy conservation measures to meet the national target of Energy Efficiency Plan 2018-2037 (EEP2018), Alternative Energy Development Plan 2018-2037 (AEDP2018), and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) targeting at the end of 2037. The efficiency evaluation shows a sustainability score, which consists of 11 indicators within three dimensions: energy, environmental, economic dimension. 4 Scenarios are studied; (1) BAU, (2) the implementation of high-efficiency equipment and energy conservation in designated factories, (3) the implementation of solar PV rooftop, and fuel switching in a boiler system, (4) the combination of scenario 2 and 3. 4 steps of the indicator scoring start from targeting, scoring, weighting, to aggregating. For Thai industry, the analysis shows that the energy score is at 78.99 in the BAU scenario and can be improved to 93.92 when implementing EEP2018 and AEDP2018 measures. Also, it suggests that the corresponding environmental score can be improved from 52.60 in BAU scenario to 80.62 in scenario 4. For BAU scenario, the economic score is shown as 55.75 and gets improved to 73.67 in scenario 4. Consequently, the sustainability score of Thai industry is summarized as 58.73. With the implementation of the EEP2018 measures, the industry can increase a score to 71.14, 21.27% higher than that of BAU. However, for scenario as an implementation of AEDP2018, it is shown that the sustainability score will decrease to 64.48. Then, the industry implements both EEP2018 and AEDP2018 measures, increasing a score to 79.86. In particular, the chemical sector can reach a perfect score of 100 in all three dimensions. This shows a great contribution to meet the national target and bring the sustainable development to the country. However, the non-metallic products sector reveals the lowest score but it can be improved by implementation of additional measures suitable for the industry such as carbon capture storage (CCS) in the cement industry, material substitution, and material efficiency, etc.","PeriodicalId":438265,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Conference on Power, Energy and Electrical Engineering (CPEEE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134373974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With its nonlinear characteristics, surge arrester limits the surge voltages in the system to acceptable range and prolongs the life of power system equipment. Surge arrester is made of individual zinc oxide blocks that are stacked in series parallel combinations in order to achieve the required specification. They are categorized into distribution class and station class, depending upon their application. In the latest edition of IEC 60099-4, a new test named test to verily the repetitive charge transfer rating is introduced in order to classify the blocks. The test uses charge, to classify the blocks instead of energy, that was used in the earlier existed long duration impulse withstand test. In this paper, analysis is done on the types of failures of various designation of blocks occurred during the test to verify the repetitive charge transfer rating.","PeriodicalId":438265,"journal":{"name":"2022 12th International Conference on Power, Energy and Electrical Engineering (CPEEE)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132481220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the relative research, this paper presents a method for cable fault location on the basis of the impedance spectroscopy. An integral transform (IT) algorithm is developed to transform the frequency-dependent impedance spectroscopy to a spatial domain function, and a location function is also promoted to achieve the fault location. The validity of the method is also verified by experiments performed on 10kV XLPE cables. Furthermore, faulty machine behavior or aging effects cause parameter changes and asymmetric behavior. In order to save test bench capacities, these issues must be adressed by a corresponing simulation model. Simultaneously, comparatively short computation time is neccessary. The mentioned requirements are handled by a three phase analytical approach modeling stator and rotor windings explicitly. Arbitrary pole pairs are considered simplified using a newly proposed approximation function in magnetic transition areas. Iron losses and different machine faults are modeled according to known approaches. A real machines extended parameter set is used for model parametrization. Simulative validation is done by comparison to a commonly known model. Eventually testbench results show, that the proposed model is well suited for modeling the real machine.
