The objectives of this study are to describe the generic structure potential, representational meaning, and the context of situation of Rollingstone; February 9th, 2006 edition. The approach of this study is qualitative research and the type is document research. The researcher uses document from the picture of Rollingstone; February 9th, 2006 edition which taken from Rollingstone’s official website. Analysis techniques flow model of this study are collecting the data, displaying and concluding. The results of this study are (1) There are some generic structure potential elements found. They are Lead, LoA, Comp. LoA, Display, Emblem, Announcement, Enhancer, Call and Visit Information and missing one element that is Tag. (2) The representational meaning of this magazine cover by applying narrative process for action process and conceptual representation for symbolic process. (3) The context of situation divided into field, tenor and mode. Field consists of The College Dropout Album, Jesus Walks Songs, 47th Grammy Awards, Rollingstone; February 9th, 2006 edition. Tenor consists of Kanye West as Song Writers, Rollingstone as production house and the target market. Reciprocal Teaching has four strategies, such as; Predicting, Questioning, Clarifying and Summarizing. The method that is used by the researcher is Experimental Design. The researcher used two classes, the first class as control class and the other one is expeimental class. Each class consists of 20 students. They had different treatment. The control class is not treat by the Reciprocal Teaching but the experiment class treated Reciprocal Teaching. The researcher got the data by using pretest and postest for each class. The test is 50 items of multiple choices. The researcher used SPSS v23 to count the result of the data. The data analysis showed the significancy of the data. The mean score for experimental group has 49, 20. Then, the mean score for control group has 43, 25. Based on the two means, it can be considered that both of the groups are significantly different. The results of the sig. of the Lavene’s test for equality of variances show that it exceeds the level of tolerance p. value .05. The result of sig. is .095. It means that there is no significant different from the two groups and Ho can be rejected. The mean score for group which is treated by using Reciprocal Teaching has 79, 55. Then, the mean score for the group which is not treated by using Reciprocal Teaching has 73, 55. The results of post-test both of the groups show significantly different. The result of independent sample t-test shows the significantly different can be seen from the sig. 004 in t-test for equality of means. This result is lower than the p value .05 of significance tolerance. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The participants of the research are the English teacher and students of X-A class of SMAN 1 Jiwan. The research uses purposive sampling technique. The techniques which are used to collect the data are observation, interview, and documentation. While, the techniques of the data analysis are: data condensation, data display, and conclusion and verification. The results of this research are </span><span style=\"font-size: 9pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">the teacher prepares syllabus, <em>RPP</em>, and the papers of picture Sandwich Graphic Organizer. The steps are pre-activities, whilst-activities, and post-activities. Otherwise, some students get difficulties in managing their time, some students make mistakes in using V2 that is used in writing recount text</span><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;\">, some students get difficulties in expressing their ideas from Indonesian to the English language because of minimum of vocabulary, and some students forget to write a capital letter in the beginning of the sentence and full stop in the ending of the sentence. The researcher uses design True-experimental research in sub design The Randomized Posttest-Only Control Group Design.  This research uses random sampling. The data collection method is test.  The researcher uses primary data consisted of the students’ scores collected by a Reading Comprehension. The researcher uses Pair-Sample t-test to know the result whether it was statistically significant. In research procedure the researcher uses planning, application, and reporting. The results of the research are that: (1) the procedures of teaching reading by using Crossword Puzzle consists of preparation and teaching and learning process. In preparation activities, the researcher prepares the material of descriptive text and RPP or lesson plan. In teaching and learning process, the researcher does three activities in two meetings. The first meeting, teaching a reading by using a conventional technique and the second meeting, by using a Crossword Puzzle. (2) The effect of using a Crossword Puzzle on the eighth grade students’ reading comprehension of the descriptive text at SMP Negeri 1 Barat is significant. It can be seen from the significant value (2-tailed) of  that is 0.000.  It is lower than 0.05. It means that the mean score of one class is different. The mean score of pretest is 55.7813 while the mean score of the post test is 96.7188. Nursery Rhymes is choosen as a media in teaching writing in order to make the students easily to understand. The objectives of this research are: to describe the implementation, the advantages and the disadvantages of the use Nursery Rhymes to teach writing. The researcher takes place at SMPN 2  Geger. The researcher uses qualitative approach in this research. The source of data are social situation, participant/informant, and documents. The techniques of collecting data are observation, interview and documentation. The triangulation is used to validate the data while the researcher analyze the data through three phases consist of data condensation, data display and verifying conclusion. The result of the research shows that the implementation of the use of Nursery Rhymes to teach writing are explaining materials, introducing a Nursery Rhymes, play the song of Nursery Rhymes, and guiding the students write a text about the Nursery Rhymes. Beside, the advantages of the use of Nursery Rhymes to teach writing are: it is simple and cheaper than other media, it is enriches students’ vocabulary. While, the disadvantages are: it needs much time in teaching learning process, students still ask their teacher about the vocabulary and they are too lazy to open their dictionary. Meanwhile, it is suggested that the students should bring their dictionary in English class. It is found that there are many students have less interest and activity during English lesson, especially in speaking material. It is because the students get bored during the lesson and the teacher teaches monotonously.. The research design is class action research. Population of this study are 34 students of X MIPA 6 grade SMAN 1 Kawedanan Magetan in first semester, academic year 2017/2018. This research is conducted in two cycles, and each cycle consists of: (1) plan; (2) action implementation; (3) observation; (4) reflection and evaluation. The result of this research shows that in the second cycle, there are 88% or 30 students have good activity during learning process and students’ learning result in average have gained 80 grade, which is maximum passing criteria (KKM) in English lesson is 75. The writer finds commissive act (8%); expressive act (44%); and directive act (48%) as the illocutionary act which be used by King, and some datum of speaking ethnography without genre because genre can be found in written text only. This research uses qualitative research. The researcher needs postcolonial literature by Lois Tyson to get evidences the effects and goals of the author in creating a story. The analysis reveals that Black people include subordinate people, oppressed minority group, and lower class that always suppressed and exploited by superior people who have power. Black people try to fight against superior to show their feeling of freedom for getting the same position and equality as White by conveying their voice through protest. The researcher uses popular literature in this study. The research method is descriptive qualitative research. There are two sources of the data; they are primary data and secondary data. The primary data of this research is taken from American Sniper movie. Meanwhile, the secondary of this research are from references from other source which are related to the popular literature. The technique of collecting data is by using documentation. The content analysis is chosen to analyze the data. The result of the research is described as follows: 1) The portrayal of hero has already happened in the previous time, but the heroic mode of hero’s mentality as a husband and father who love his wife and his family as it is shown in American Sniper movie is one of new version which does not happen in the previous time. 2) It shows that the movement of action war movie from time to time reflects the audiences’ interest or the movie lovers to the action war movie. This research uses qualitative research. The researcher needs popular literature by Ida Rochani Adi to get what the author is willing to share her readers. It is also a way to the researcher to investigate why the author choose alien as the new character, and is there popular culture inside the character evidences the effects and goals of the author in creating a story. The analysis reveals that the alien’s representation of Bollywood’s science fiction, and Bollywood’s action in bringing outer space alien to India culture. The conclusion shows there are similar formula in each Bollywood science fiction in alien’s representation and Bollywood action in bringing outer space alien to India culture is influenced by 3 factors, there are: Hollywood influence, Ancient India influence, and popular news in India. The researcher uses the symbol to analyze the blue alien as the representation of Lord Krishna. It is Hindu mythology. Hindu mythology is popular culture in India belief. It is appropriate with the researcher’s assumption that the blue alien has correlation with India culture.
