In the absence of assisted care those affected often suffer permanent psychological impairment, failing to reintegrate successfully into stable self-subsistent communities. We report here on the success of a personalistic therapy used to assist community recovery in a dispersed widow population suffering religiously motivated violence. In 2008, Orissa Hindu nationalists blamed local Christians for their leader’s assassination; the subsequent retaliation led to murders, destruction of churches, schools, homes, and physical assaults. Subsequent recovery efforts were premised upon a psychotherapeutic restoration keyed to a personalistic, Catholic/Christian psychological framework (Vitz, 2011) as a necessary contingent for community reintegration and economic self-sufficiency. Assaultive trauma, personal valuation, interpersonal psychosocial functioning, agency, and sense of trust in committed care were monitored. Our results indicate, among others, that self-valuation generally paralleled growth in trust commitment, but the latter depended on the perception of the caregiver’s commitment to faith values. This paper examines leading causes of working after retirement in Turkey. A random sample of retired and older people was selected from 54 provinces of Turkey. In this study, it is intended to determine the relationship between retired people’s perceptions of quality of life and their reemployment status. Moreover, possible effects of intention to work on quality of life were tested. “Quality of Life Assessment Tool” and “Quality of Life Module for Older People” developed by World Health Organisation and a supplementary question form developed by the project team respectively are conducted in all regions of Turkey, resulting with 2914 usable forms. With national level analyses, retirement status, reemployment, its antecedents and relationship with quality of life were examined. A specific community based participatory model to reduce pesticide risk behaviors among rubber farmers in the Southern of Thailand remains limited. The study objectives were: (1) to develop community based participatory model to reduce pesticide risk behaviors among rubber farmers; and (2) to evaluate their knowledge, health beliefs and behaviors related pesticide use. Data collection from seventy one rubber farmers in 8 villages of Khogyang community was completed by focus group discussions, observation, and in-depth interviews. This study was conducted in Khogyang community, Trang, Thailand between December 2012 and March 2013. The contents of the Khogyang community based participatory model included: (1) pesticide safety education delivery at home; and (2) community-based participatory action activities addressed pesticide safety behaviors (pesticide safety behaviors drawing contest; pesticide safety community forums; and Khogyang advisory committee engagement). New materials, such as pesticide safety picture booklets, and posters were developed using ideas from the Khogyang community participants. The results showed that knowledge of rubber farmers on pesticide use was 11.82 + 3.33, observed at low level. The score of belief regarding pesticide use was 3.57 + 0.40. Behavior of farmer participants on pesticide safety was 2.87+0.42. Positive statistically significant correlations between belief and behavior (r = 0.47) was found. To sustain the intervention program, collaboration with the Khogyang community partners and the Khogyang authorities is needed. The dynamic structure of interaction with the internal and external environment forces companies to act more sensitive to environmental issues. In recent years, the importance of environmental problems for economic progress has emerged. Sustainable development models have become directly relevant to environmental factors, and environmental consciousness has increased in all developed countries. Not only large, multinational production companies, but also all actors within the economy, have started to transform their structures in harmony with nature. Businesses are converting into organic structures, which are compatible with the ecosystem. This research was inaugurated to determine the interaction between emotional intelligence and the understanding of environmental consciousness personality traits in businesses. In this study, it is researched the relationship between emotional intelligence and environmental consciousness of the managers in Central Anatolian companies. These companies are, according to the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, were among the largest 500 companies in Turkey between 2008-2012. Personality traits, emotional intelligence and environmental consciousness are literally reviewed. Then whether similar studies done previously or not were investigated. The study suggests that today's managers should take into account that emotions are directly related to environmentally sensitive business applications. In this regard, environmentally sensitive personality traits should be identified and businesses take these traits into account while recruiting managers. In this content, at our research, it was aimed at determining the attitudes of teacher candidates towards the postgraduate education which contributes both to their academical and professional progresses highly. Study group of the research consists of the seniors studying at the departments of primary school teaching, Turkish teaching and English teaching of Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Faculty of Education, at 2013-2014 fall term school year. Research is descriptive and figured according to survey model. Datums of the research were obtained through “Attitude Scale Towards Postgraduate Education” which is built up by Unal and Ilter (2010) and were analyzed through percent, frequency, t-test and single direction variance analysis (One Way ANOVA) statistics techniques. At the research, it has been found out that average of the general attitudes of senior undergraduate students towards the postgraduate education is at the “agree” range; accordingly, it can be said that attitudes of the senior undergraduate students towards the postgraduate education are high. Resiliency is the elasticity of an element, and the ability of an element to recover to its original state. Resiliency as protective mechanisms or specifications enables a successful adaptation during development, regardless of high risk factors experienced. The population of the study comprised of 5-6 year-old children, attending the kindergartens of primary schools governed by the Ministry of National Education, located in the city centre of Denizli. The Children’s Ego Resiliency Scales (Mother-Father-Teacher Forms) were completed by 150 mothers, fathers and 25 kindergarten teachers for 150 children. Eisenberg and colleagues adapted Block’s Q-Sort method in 1996 to develop the Children’s Ego Resiliency Scale, which is a measuring instrument that identifies the resiliency level of children. The 12-item scale is used to assess the resiliency level of preschool-primary school children. Evaluation of the scale is scored between 1 and 9; where 1 is “not at all descriptive of resiliency” and 9 is “most descriptive of resiliency.” The scale has no sub-scale. A high score obtained from the scale indicates that children in the study group have a high resiliency level. The adaptation of the scale into Turkish was conducted by Onder and Gulay-Ogelman in 2011. A positively significant relation was determined between the opinions of mothers, fathers, and teachers regarding the ego resiliency levels of children. This study investigated if eye movement characteristics differed according to whether strategies were developed during a division puzzle task, and before and after such strategy development. This task entailed inserting numbers in blank boxes while performing a division. Participants needed to think about the structure of the calculation and develop appropriate strategies. Twelve university students were recruited as participants. Our results showed little eye movement when strategies had been developed, and for answers to be completed efficiently. However, when strategies had not been developed, the participants exhibited a tendency toward much eye movement. Further, after developing a strategy, eyes tended to stop moving. We found that eye movement data could reflect the characteristics of the learning processes. Thus, eye movement measurement data could be helpful for understanding the learning processes in younger students as well (such as elementary school students), who often have difficulty explaining their understanding and strategy development conditions.
