This work is based appreciably on the Roman grammatical and encyclopedic tradition, and itself became the base of the medieval encyclopedism. In the eighteenth book the author considers some of the important spheres of the life for the Roman consciousness connected with сompetitiveness. As well as in other books, basing on his “pangrammatical method”, he results the Latin terminology connected with war, legal proceedings and a various sort of competitions. Выявляются сходные интеллектуальные и духовные основания воззрений Бергсона и Тойнби. Характеризуются краеугольные камни бергсонизма Тойнби, в том числе влияние виталистской концепции Бергсона на философию истории и теорию цивилизаций А. Тойнби. Подчеркивается творческое развитие Тойнби идей французского философа, стремление применить бергсонианские идеи к историографии, что привело к синкретизму мировоззренческих установок Тойнби, нашедших отражение и в его методологической доктрине. The article analyzes the influence of A. Bergson's ideas on A. Toynbee's works, especially on his work “A Study of History”. The article characterizes the situation of Toynbee's acquaintance with the ideas of the French philosopher and shows the similarity of their human destinies. Similar intellectual and spiritual bases of Bergson's and Toynbee's views are revealed. The cornerstones of Toynbee's Bergsonism are identified, including the influence of Bergson's vitalist concept on Toynbee's philosophy of history and theory of civilizations. С опорой на трактат Голосовкера «Имагинативный абсолют» и другие работы автор рассматривает, как ключевые философские сюжеты отразились в творчестве мыслителя: идея познания воображением, противопоставление imaginatio и ratio, связь культуры и «духа», роль «смыслообразов». В данной интерпретации «Сожженный роман», события которого происходят во второй половине 1920-х гг., предстает диагнозом кризиса культуры, который Голосовкер ставит эпохе. Особое внимание уделено тому, как «Сожженный роман» встраивается в интеллектуальный контекст. В частности, как эстетика «молчаливого» Христа объединяет романы Достоевского, Булгакова и Голосовкера. The article considers the artistic work by Ya.E. Golosovker «The Burnt Novel», first published in 1991, as an implementation of his original project of philosophy. Author, relying on the treatise «Imaginative Absolute», shows how the key philosophical themes were reflected in «The Burnt Novel»: idea of cognition by imagination, opposition of imaginatio and ratio, connection of culture and «spirit», role of «meaning images». «The Burnt novel», the events of which take place in the second half of the 20s of the XX century, in this interpretation appears as Golosovker’s diagnosis of crisis to culture. Special attention is paid to the embeddedness of «Burnt Novel» in the intellectual context. Панина и Д.А. Голицына, прежде не привлекавших внимания отечественных исследователей. Установлено, что в эпоху Петра Великого русская общественная мысль находилась под влиянием гетерогенных по своему характеру политических концепций Западной Европы, что создавало возможности для различных интерпретаций учений неостоиков, Пуфендорфа и о «государственном интересе». Автор статьи подчеркивает необходимость анализа переводов сочинений западноевропейских политических писателей на русский язык с точки зрения смысловой целостности перевода, дополняя его встречным изучением на современном уровне содержащихся в них концепций. На примерах собственных исследований автор показал особенности построения политического дискурса в ряде сочинений эпохи Екатерины II, указав на плодотворность изучения дискурсивных практик, создававшихся в России, в рамках которых термины, в том числе заимствованные из чужого языка или переведенные с него, получали статус понятий. Several approaches in the current historiography to studying the social thinking in Russia of the times of Peter the Great and Catherine the Great have been observed, the series of resources have been mentioned, most notably, the translations of the works of neo-stoic authors (Sleidanus, Lipsius), the works of Catherine the Great, N.I. Panin and D.A. Gallitzin, formerly not received Russian scholars' attention. It is deemed that in the times of Peter the Great Russian social thinking was under the influence of the heterogeneous in conception West European political base, that provided an avenue for different interpretations of the works of neo-stoic authors and Samuel von Pufendorf and about \"the state interest\". The author of this paper highlights the necessity of the analysis of the translations of the West European political works into Russian in the context of semantic continuity of those translations, alongside with the research of the concepts contained then and at the present times. Молотова. Его партийный стаж с 1906 г. был важным политическим ресурсом и источником авторитета. При восстановлении в партии в 1984 г. для В. М. Молотова было принципиально важно, чтобы партстаж был восстановлен с 1906 г., что делало его рекордным. Однако, как показано в статье, В.М. Скрябин (Молотов) может считаться членом РСДРП (и затем КПСС) с 1911 г., а до этого примыкал то к РСДРП, то к ПСР. Также искажаются и обстоятельства участия В.М. Молотова в создании «Правды» и знакомства с И.В. Сталиным. Это конструирование биографии характерно для понимания различия в оценке должного и недолжного поведения революционера в начале ХХ в. и в 1930-е гг. (и позднее). В начале века в подпольной общественной среде разделение между партиями было условно. Молодые люди устанавливали контакты в ситуации подполья, которые могли не полностью соответствовать их теоретическим склонностям, и сами склонности были результатом взаимовлияния и смешения народнической традиции и марксисткой тенденции. Различие между большевизмом и меньшевизмом только оформлялось в принципиальный раскол, который для многих активистов на местах не был очевиден вплоть до середины 1917 г. The article is devoted to the construction of the early political biography of V. M. Molotov. His party membership since 1906 has been an important political resource and source of authority. When he was restored to the party in 1984, it was fundamentally important for V. M. Molotov that the party experience was restored since 1906, which made it a record. However, as shown in the article, V. M. Scriabin (Molotov) can be considered a member of the RSDLP (and then the CPSU) since 1911, and before that he was near the RSDLP or the esers. The circumstances of V. M. Molotov's participation in the creation of “Pravda” and acquaintance with I. V. Stalin are also distorted. This construction of the biography is characteristic of understanding the difference in the assessment of the proper and improper behavior of a revolutionary in the early twentieth century and in the 30s (and later). At the beginning of the century, in the underground social environment, the division between the parties was conditional. Young people established contacts in an underground situation that might not fully correspond to their theoretical inclinations, and the inclinations themselves were the result of mutual influence and mixing of the narodnik tradition and the marxist tendency. The publication presents a previously unknown letter by Robert Cecil, Earl of Salisbury, Secretary of State to King James I of England, to his French colleague, Nicholas de Neufville, seigneur de Villeroy, from the Dubrovsky collection (St Petersburg, Russian National Library, Autograph 72, № 16). The letter was written in London on 7 (18?) November of 1609. Through it, Cecil informed Villeroy that there was a plot to kill King Henry IV of France. The details of the plot were to be provided in a memorandum sent together with the letter; this document has not survived. The introductory article established the political context of the letter. The ambassador of the King of England who brought Cecil the information of the plot has also been identified. This was John Barclay who in the summer and autumn of 1609 visited Northern Italy and Germany; his mission was to present European monarchs with a political tract by King James I dedicated to them.
