When a researcher schedules to submit his paper, it is generally difficult to him to find an upcoming conference that fits his research topics and also his requirements. To tackle this problem, we propose a personalized academic venue recommendation solution related to venues in the computer science field. Since generally researchers who are cited in the references share the same research interests with a target researcher, our approach is based on bibliographic data augmented by citation relationships between papers. The main idea is to recommend venues on the basis of those of his co-authors, co-citers and co-affiliated. The reliability of each researcher is taken into account to make recommendations. Then, call of papers data are used to recommend personalized upcoming conferences to a given researcher. Our hybrid recommendation system is able to filter out irrelevant conferences that do not respond to the researcher's requirements (ranking, publisher, location). The cold start problem for young researchers is also taken into account. Experiments with the bibliographic citation dataset show that our new approach outperforms the standard collaborative filtering and provides accurate recommendation.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130981425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, maintaining the communication graph connectivity is a fundamental issue. In this paper, we analyse the effects of different types of disturbances (failure and noise) in the communication between agents, upon a connectivity maintenance control strategy. The results show that the connectivity strategy is resilient to the negative effects of such disturbances under realistic settings that consider a bandwidth limit for the control effort. This opens the perspective of applying the connectivity maintenance strategy in adaptive schemes that consider, for instance, autonomous adaptation to constraints other than connectivity itself, e.g. communication efficiency and energy harvesting.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133514814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The 9DOF sensor board is built up from a tri-axial accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a magnetometer. Different arm movements can be used to detect emergency situations. In order to recognize specific arm movements in stationary positions and also during the movement of the body, eleven movement classes were constructed. Measurement data for all classes were collected from nine subjects, and used for training and validation of the system. Different time-domain features (TDF) were calculated in the processing windows. The recognition rates were tested with different sensors, features, window sizes and window shifts.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133949852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A text paragraph given as input is evaluated and processed according to the SEED (theme/context) provided by the user. Prior to accomplish any computation, all the STOP WORDS are removed from the text. The evaluation and the computation of summary is done based on the ranking of each sentences present in the text. A Membership Function (MF) value is defined for each sentence based on the SEED and the frequency of other words occurring in the sentence. Then the groups of ranked sentences are normalized to form in order to obtain a decreasing MF. Finally, based on the MF value, user can decide an alpha cut to present the resulting summary. It is observed that Seeded auto-summarizing technique in conjunction with the two ways ranking mechanism can improvise a better selectivity in the text and deduce better summaries.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116204005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Appropriateness is also measured by the dispersion index, a technique in quantitative ecology that estimates the distribution pattern of individuals. In the bag-of-keypoints method of making a visual vocabulary, the size of the vocabulary is examined. In addition, a method to globalize a local feature is proposed. In this globalization method, each descriptor is modified to be similar to adjacent descriptors and therefore provides more opportunity for a visual word to form clumps on a test image. Although applying the index is limited by the classifier, we found that appropriateness is measured by estimating the average dispersion index for every visual word. In addition, this paper discusses another method for creating a visual-word vocabulary that is more appropriate for classification by globalization.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"213 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124186897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, besides some attention and concentration measuring methods, an innovative EEG-based measuring and examination technique of continuous attention will be demonstrated. The results of these different methods have been compared and evaluated in this research. The most significant advantage of the EEG-based attention measuring method is the possibility of time continuous examination that can shortly provide information about the actual mental state of the test subject. This information can be useful in teaching and applying the most convenient method of sharing and acquiring knowledge; therefore, it can virtually improve the result of learning.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127712468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At first, our new method takes data from source Keynote Markup Language 2.2 format (KML 2.2) files such as extracted from Google Maps. Then, our algorithm creates a directed, acyclical graph which is displayed and overlayed afterwards in Google Earth. A Java application has been built to implement and test the system based on the graph building algorithm for the analysis of ski piste maps. Testing of the graph, in context of ski resorts, demonstrates that the algorithm is accurate and suitable for use in Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Moreover, the performance of the algorithm has been analysed.
