Based on the results, right decisions can be made. However, there is some kind of results anyway and therefore it can be hard to differ the real result from the results which occurred randomly, despite of the validations which were used during the process. In this work, we analyzed the environment, where these random results can be appeared. After presenting a framework to deal with these random results, simulation techniques are also introduced.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127393940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Image processing gains more and more territory in pathology, our current study aims to apply image cytometry to this area. One of the most fundamental methods is ploidy analysis that aims to measure the pace of proliferation in the tissue. This is proven to be a good marker of tumor presence and aggressivity. Ploidy analysis traditionally is a flow cytometry area. The samples used in our study are the same as those used in a flow cytometer: a droplet of the suspension containing stained nuclei caught on a glass slide, covered and scanned. The resulting digital sample is analyzed by an image processing algorithm to detect cell nuclei, and measure their DNA content for the ploidy analysis. This article aims to show our progress in nucleus detection on these samples, and how this improvement to the detection of low intensity nuclei affects segmentation accuracy.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115183087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, their applications are not disseminated as exhaustively as they could be, for many reasons. In this work, a survey on some applications of Computational Intelligence to Mechanical Engineering will be presented. This review has been based on statistical analysis of a large amount of data extracted from major bibliographic databases. This analysis provides a quantitative map of the variety of CI methods and tools and their applications to some fields of Mechanical Engineering. The results will suggest to researchers some important topics of Mechanical Engineering where CI has great potential and may improve its impact.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128548727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These model-based protocols can be more effective than the current ones, since they provide individual treatment for the patients. The aim of this paper is to investigate C38 colon adenocarcinoma growth in three different cases: (1) tumor growth without therapy, (2) tumor growth with one Avastin dose for a 18-day therapy (10 mg/kg), (3) tumor growth with one-tenth dose of control Avastin dose spread over 18 days. Parametric model identification was carried out for these three cases and the relationship between the measured tumor attributes (volume, mass and vascularization) was analyzed. Effect of low-dose therapy was also examined.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115125341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In normal driving conditions, the vehicle is controlled solely by the four electric motors inserted in the wheels of the vehicle, without the intervention of the steering system. The aim is to design a cruise control system with trajectory tracking ability realized by independent torque generation of the four wheels. In case the demanded yawing torque cannot be realized with the four in-wheel motors due to the loss of adhesion or actuator failure, the high level controller reconfigures and steering is applied to stabilize the vehicle motion. The reconfigurable control relies on the specific ability of the in-wheel motors of fast and accurate torque control and precise estimation of the transmissible torque. The operation of the proposed control system is demonstrated in real-data simulation environment.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"1991 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125516956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to imperfections in either the image data or the edge detector, there may be missing points or pixels on lines as well as spatial deviations between ideal line and the set of imprecise points obtained from the edge detector. The overall effect is an image that has some distortion in its geometry. In this paper it is presented a mathematical model based on fuzzy sets. In this way there covered these uncertainties, and it is obtained correct interpretation and important decisions in different important areas as image analysis (imprecise feature extraction), GIS (imprecise spatial object modelling), robotics (environment models), and in medicine (DICOM medical images).","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133458684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The control system designs a reference speed profile for road vehicles considering the road inclinations, speed limits and traveling time. The design of the speed profile leads to a quadratic optimization problem, which depends on several parameters. The most important parameters are the mass of the vehicle, the initial conditions, the number of sampling points along the prediction horizon, the road length between the sampling points and the weighting between the performances. In the paper the effects of parameter variations on the optimal speed profile are analyzed through various simulation scenarios.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132083757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In one side, MANETs provide an alternative way to wired infrastructure networks and manage the wireless communication, whereas MASs allow distributed systems to be designed and implemented in an autonomous way by optimizing the development process. Using autonomous objects provides new mechanisms for efficient processor and memory usage while enabling low-power consumption in communication. We have presented a content-based networking protocol to solve some inherent problems in wireless sensor networks, especially in communication. Content-based protocols are mainly maximized the rate of suitable message delivery and minimize the energy consumption by using techniques to maintain shortest paths. The proposed protocol sends data using agent-based platform, and each sensor can make its decision individually. This mechanism prolongs life time of the network. After some nodes die, system can automatically construct new paths for data dissemination. As an experimental work, the performance analysis and evaluations are conducted in terms of some main efficiency metrics, which are first node dies and half of the nodes alive. As an energy-aware system, the total remaining energy level also be calculated, and this metric can be used for estimating the lifetime of the system.","PeriodicalId":435053,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE 15th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Informatics (CINTI)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131749899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
