Based on the kinetic theory of gases, this paper makes use of the Maxwell velocity distribution function of the particles to formulate a general equation of the internal surface charging electrical potential of the H2/O2 rocket engine nozzle. Factors such as the mass, temperature and density of the charged particles and the secondary electronic emission yield of the internal surface materials of the nozzle are considered hypothetically. The proposed sensor consists of two standard X-band (8.2 GHz-12.4 GHz) rectangular waveguide sections and a metal plate as a common flange, which can be attached to a concrete specimen. The simulated magnitudes of reflection and transmission coefficients obtained with a guessed preset value of dielectric permittivity of concrete specimen are compared with measured ones until predefined accuracy level is achieved. The complex dielectric permittivity of the first-day concrete is determined. The FSS is made of three metallic layers that are separated from each other by two thin dielectric spacers. Tunability is achieved by loading varactor diodes on the front and back layers. The varactors are connected to the middle layer wire grid and are tuned by applying a bias voltage between the middle and front/back layers wire grids. Continued progress is expected from measurement of spectral distortions in this cosmic radiation. A key distortion in the global sky spectrum is in the 40-250 MHz band and expected from variations in the hydrogen spin temperature and ionization state during Cosmic Dawn and Epoch of Reionization when the first stars and galaxies form. Causality, or passivity that implies causality, is adopted as the fundamental principle. It is stressed that radiation conditions are not applicable for waveguide modes that carry no active power. The Jones' criteria for causality in the frequency domain, which covers the convectively unstable case, are presented and analysed, the vanishing absorption principle, VAP, in particular. The thermally controlled eye-like ring resonator add/drop filter is utilized. By controlling the optical power coupling into the resonator through the temperature-controlled Mach Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) power splitter, a continuously tunable group delay is obtained. A considerable group delay of 627 ps can be achieved in over-coupling condition while maintaining the optical loss less than 25 dB. Particularly when the resonator is under-coupled, maximum pulse advancement of 574 ps with similar transmission exists which extends the span of tunability from slow light to fast light in a single device. The antenna is miniaturized by loading the tip of each helix by metallic circles of equal dimensions. The effect of decreasing the resonant frequency is also achieved by introducing a dielectric material within the antenna's physical structure. A prototype is fabricated and tested to prove the proposed technique.
