In order to ensure that the most effective measures are being taken to address the hookworm epidemic in SSA, the control programs must be re-evaluated. In particular, countries where programs are yielding the best results (in term so flowering the incidence of infections and reinfections) should be evaluated to determine the components of their program that standout and can be beneficial in other areas where programs have shown some lapses. The goal of this program evaluation is to recommend amendments to programs in countries with the greatest burden of disease, such as Kenya, in order to facilitate a reduction and possible elimination of new cases and re infections of hookworm in the most vulnerable populations. These amendments may prove to be useful in other countries where programs are lacking essential components for successful outcomes and also in reducing the burden in the general population. In order to accomplish this goal, the extent the burden of hookworm infection in SSA, this burden’s impact on the health of them to vulnerable populations, and recommended strategies to control and prevent future hookworm infections must first be determined. From there, country specific control programs in Kenya will be evaluated by comparing it to recommendations made by WHO and to a successful program in Bangladesh. The integrated results also provide some information into the management to improve the quality of these programs.","PeriodicalId":434648,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Biostatistics & Biometric Applications","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134562371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Developing upon Holm’s idea, step-up and step-down methods for multiple testing have been developed for non-sequential [11,16-19] and most recently, sequential experiments [20-23]. These Holm-type methods (also called stepwise for testing marginal hypotheses in the order of their significance) allow to use higher levels of j α leading to increased power, while still controlling FWER. These stepwise methods and most of the other approaches to multiple tests do not account for different levels of difficulty of the participating tests, or proximity between null hypotheses and their corresponding alternative hypotheses. Why should we take this into account when designing statistical ABBA.MS.ID.000532. Abstract Bonferroni, Holm, and Holm-type stepwise approaches have been well developed for the simultaneous testing of multiple hypotheses in medical experiments. Methods exist for controlling familywise error rates at their preset levels. This article shows how performance of these tests can often be substantially improved by accounting for the relative difficulty of tests. Introducing suitably chosen weights optimizes the error spending between the multiple endpoints. Such an extension of classical testing schemes generally results in a smaller required sample size without sacrificing the familywise error rate and","PeriodicalId":434648,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Biostatistics & Biometric Applications","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122765149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Is a specific virus that was wellknown for the past decade. Despite of this circumstances relating to expectation of HIV stigmatization, previous studies gave very little or no care. The current antiretroviral medicines that is available for now is only to reduces the infection rate but cannot be able to cure people with the epidemic. The cure for HIV virus in the body assist in reducing the active of the virus so that the immune body system will be at normal stage. Means the cure would not completely wipe out the virus but with placing to the right treatment and care, individual leaving with virus may perhaps hope to live a prolonged and healthy life. Nevertheless, the virus normally exist in semen, vaginal fluids and moisture in the rectum, blood, genital fluids and breast milk. The new infected cells into the pool that the reservoir will be saved with antiretroviral therapy possibly totally stops the new entrance. Another means of becoming a victim is through the course of insecure anal, vaginal and oral sex, by sharing of injecting or razor blade and mother transferring to her baby during pregnancy or in the course of breastfeeding. The means of preventing this virus is by conducting a blood test which can expose if a person is HIV positive, when it’s tested positive then one can get active antiretroviral therapy to commence the curing transformation of the virus.","PeriodicalId":434648,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Biostatistics & Biometric Applications","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122358280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, undertreatment for pain can have an impairment on the health and quality of life of the elderly, resulting in depression, anxiety, social isolation, cognitive impairment, immobility, and sleep disturbances. Geriatric patients are more likely to have arthritis, bone and joint disorders, cancer and other chronic disorders associated with pain. As the number of elderlies continues to rise, frailty and chronic disease associated with pain are expected to increase [1]. The age limit for elderly in Indonesia is 60 years or more. In 2017, the elderly population in Indonesia reaches 23,66 million people or 9,03% from the country total population. The number of people worldwide 65 years and older was estimated at 506 million as of 2008 and by 2040 will increase to 1.3 billion. The morbidity of elderly population in Indonesia is 28,62% in 2015 and will increases every year. According to the International Association for the Study of Pain, as many as 48.5% of geriatric patients come to the hospital with pain complaints [2].","PeriodicalId":434648,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Biostatistics & Biometric Applications","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124471858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
