In spite of fingerprint biometrics and face detection in past years, biometric system based on ECG is more in pace. In this article a simple method is proposed for person recognition consisting of first denoising the signal by using wavelet decomposition. The denoised signal is then passed through the process of EMD. First two IMFs are selected and from the resulting signal a combination of time domain and frequency domain features are extracted and cubic SVM is trained to get a highest accuracy of 98.4% with 35 subjects.","PeriodicalId":434612,"journal":{"name":"2019 13th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Statistics (MACS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122324055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wind turbine system necessitates an effective and precise control system to meet energy requirements. The pitch angle control is of prime importance for regulating the power output along with to restrain the rotor speed of wind turbine (WT). This paper proposes an improved PID controller of the pitch control to enhance the power output in addition to bound the WT speed. This technique also assists to dwindle the loading effect, produced by the aerodynamic forces, through limiting the torque. The proposed methodology is tested with the use of MATLAB/Simulink and it is equated with the PI control technique to assess its usefulness. The designed controller is verified on 2 MW doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) WT. Simulation results validate the effectiveness and precision of the presented control technique.","PeriodicalId":434612,"journal":{"name":"2019 13th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Statistics (MACS)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127091495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, simulation systems in large areas lead to an increasing amount of simulation datasets or decreasing resolution causes negative effects. Besides, the Cellular Automata model have been applied successfully to many natural phenomena. This paper proposes an analysis of environmental information in relation with extended simulation capabilities. This approach uses a cellular automata model integrated with Geographic Information System (GIS) taking advantages of parallel computing resources operated using the Message Passing Interface (MPI) framework.","PeriodicalId":434612,"journal":{"name":"2019 13th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Statistics (MACS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114880810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, a few vital points on energy issues are discussed predominantly in the engineering world on how it could be utilized optimally. One of the way of looking thorough onto this matter is through an Energy Management System. This study is focused on one of the aided system that can boost energy management system performance called Internet of Things and Big Data (IBDA) architecture. The system mentioned are based on four elements of generation, extraction, storage and visualization. Data marked as voltage, current, power, energy, temperature and humidity from existing IoT environment were stored into an open source cloud of phpMyAdmin. From there, the data can be imported manually for energy audit purpose or automatically in real time to be visualized in website or any online medium. For this case study, the data from the storage are scaled in MySQL indexing before it is presented visually in the website that were built based on HTML, CSS and JavaScript language. The accomplished system acts as a monitoring tool for energy management consultant to study the energy profiling of any environment before any further consultation can be made. The system can be improved more on the data variety, volume and velocity as the existing system only emphasis on the foundation of IBDA not on Big Data specifically as it requires a huge amount of data for the system to be able to adjust to its literal meaning.","PeriodicalId":434612,"journal":{"name":"2019 13th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Statistics (MACS)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128492968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Malaysian government has carried out various initiatives to address the issue of employability; conversely, one of them was successfully promoting the development of entrepreneurship by increasing entrepreneurial courses for instance. The intention was to increase the entrepreneurial intentions amongst university's students to create job opportunities for themselves which could lead to a boost for a developing nation's economy as well. However, the government's initiatives did not succeed as they were expected. The main reason for it ending as a flopped plan was due to failing to identify an individual's intentions. Therefore, the primary purpose of this research is to inspect the Malaysian universities student's intention of being an entrepreneur because, without intention, they might not even consider the option of initiating their own business. This research adapted and integrated the two most common models of examining the entrepreneurial intention, i.e, Theory of Planned Behaviour (‘TPB’) by Ajzen and Shapero and Sokol's model of an Entrepreneurial Event (‘SEE’). This is a quantitative study and a total of 160 students from different Malaysian universities were surveyed using non-probability sampling techniques and by a well-established instrument with the standardized questionnaire, to examine hypothesized relationships. SPSS was used for analyzing the demographic profile and SMART-PLS was utilized for testing the developed hypotheses. The results show that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control positively affect the perceived desirability as well as perceived feasibility. Moreover, perceived desirability and perceived feasibility are also positively associated with an entrepreneurial intention. Furthermore, perceived desirability is found as a mediator for the relationship among predictors of entrepreneurial intention but perceived feasibility fails to mediate the association of subjective norm and entrepreneurial intention. By understanding the background of university student's intentions towards entrepreneurship, the Malaysian government and organizations can better present themselves in formulating better initiatives to stimulate and encourage youth to have entrepreneurial intentions in order to initiate their own business. This study also offers some useful managerial implications using the advanced technique of IPM to enhance the performance of critical factors that contribute towards entrepreneurial intentions.","PeriodicalId":434612,"journal":{"name":"2019 13th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Statistics (MACS)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123436437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ridge parameter plays an important role in reducing the variance of ridge estimators. In this paper, we consider some existing estimators and propose some new ridge regression estimators for linear regression models. The performance of estimators is evaluated through a Monte Carlo simulation study. Based on mean square error criterion, our proposed estimators show some better performance as compared to other considered ridge estimators. An application is also given to illustrate the simulation results.","PeriodicalId":434612,"journal":{"name":"2019 13th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Statistics (MACS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122389263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This formulation is known as the optimal generator placement (OGP) problem. OGP is taken as a composite and non-linear problem, in the outlook of optimization. To solve this problem in this paper, initially, a loss sensitivity factor (LSF) method is utilized to highlight the potential candidate buses for the generator placement then a self-sorting approach (SSA) is proposed, which decides the potential bus for the generator placement and generator rating as well. To evaluate the performance of the proposed approach IEEE 15,33, and 69 bus systems are considered as a test system, and the results are compared with the literature in terms of voltage profile and power losses, for all types of distribution generators (DGs).","PeriodicalId":434612,"journal":{"name":"2019 13th International Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Statistics (MACS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126732098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
