{"title":"Using Digital Story in Developing the Listening Skills among the Second Grade Intermediate Students","authors":"Hatim Osman, Ustaza Korkoman","doi":"10.21608/mkmgt.2023.220028.1600","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21608/mkmgt.2023.220028.1600","url":null,"abstract":": This study aimed to know the effect of using the digital story on developing the listening skills among the second-grade intermediate female students. To achieve this goal, the researchers adopted the semi-experimental approach that based on the design of experimental and control groups. The study sample consisted of (62) second grade intermediate female students in Bisha Province. It was randomly divided into two equal groups, one of which was the experimental group that consisted of (31) female students who studied listening texts in the sixth, seventh and eighth units of the English language course in the intermediate stage using the digital story. The other was the control group that consisted of (31) female students who studied the same units in the traditional method. The study material and tools were represented in the teacher’s guide which was designed according to the digital story, and a test in listening skills. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α ≥ 0.05) between the mean scores of the female students of the experimental group who studied using the digital story and the scores of the female students of the control group who studied using the traditional method in the post application of the test of listening skills for the benefit of the experimental group. The study was conducted by using the historical analysis method that was based on interpreting the past. The study population and sample consisted of previous studies, research and journal articles that were related to the study being discussed. The results were produced to reveal that distance education based on moral values granted the students to obtain ethics, opinions, empathy, kindness, and attention which helped them to become affluent and principled citizens; besides being valuable members in their society; values and ethical education enabled students to become honest, virtuous, and compassionate. Lastly, the study recommended that social, religious, and moral traditions should be a part of school culture, and teachers should be role models for young children. Also, the teachers should be ready to encounter moral questions and encourage students to ask difficult moral questions of their interest. {"title":"Socio-psychological determinants of Saudi mothers and household responsible home water use, Jeddah Saudi Arabia","authors":"N. To reduce household water consumption, households must encourage eco-conscious behavior and identify water use determinants such as contextual, behavioral, and socio-psychological factors. The purpose of the study was to determine how income, education, and family size, as well as behavioral and socio-psychological factors, affect household water consumption. 62.4% of our study sample consisted of mothers with a mean age of 30.6, a high school or college education, a family size between four and seven members, and one maid who moderated the family dynamic. 97% of mothers could recollect pertinent Hadith and Quran passages. As a mother's water costs rise, her self-control and conservation attitudes decrease, while her desire to educate others about water conservation rises. As part of their identity, 97% of mothers were able to recollect pertinent Hadith and Quran passages, mothers and had a hedonistic value of 43.8% for increased water consumption; 37.4% for washing fruits and vegetables, 17.9% for leaking faucets. The VBN model (Value Beliefs Norms) further described local socio-psychological and revealed that the only variable contributing to behavior is a desire to develop awareness. To boost parental water stewardship, which is less than 50%, it was suggested that water conservation programs should emphasize education and religion.
