A new research model is comprised of six antecedent trust factors (communication, learning capacity, participation, usability, security, and reliability) that should influence the supply chain partners on the trust in cloud-based SCM systems and the adoption of cloud-based SCM systems. Further, the trust in cloud-based SCM systems may mediate the effects of these six trust factors on the adoption of cloud-based SCM systems. This trust model will be further tested in the pharmaceutical industry context. Future studies could also be conducted in other types of industries in different countries with different cultures in order to test the generalizability of the model.","PeriodicalId":433830,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Engineering, Management Science and Innovation (ICEMSI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131115241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Under some circumstances, a quick and easy solution is needed for prompt implementation, in which the dynamic scaling parameter value adjustment, which is required by the fitted function methods in the literature, may not be allowed. On the other hand, for a given scheduling system, the problem instances that appear over time may have a lot in common, such as similar setup times or due date assignments. If the most frequent region of the problem instance is known in advance, the appropriate robust scaling parameters can be found using loss function for good and stable performance. In this paper, a loss function based method is proposed to find the robust scaling parameter values for Apparent Tardiness Cost with Setups (ATCS) rule under such circumstances. The computation results show that the identified robust scaling parameters (k1= 0.8, k2 = 0.1) achieve better performance than the fitted function method in the literature.","PeriodicalId":433830,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Engineering, Management Science and Innovation (ICEMSI)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114070673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially, female professionals make these so-called ‘virtuous wife, good mother’ face challenges to fit in with the demands in-between various life domains, such as family and organizations. To better understand the interactive effects between professionals' work-life concerns and coping strategies, semistructured interviews were adopted from 10 female professionals of Taiwanese banks to explore the following issues: the role expectations from daily life, the rationale of work-life boundary and the relevant coping mechanisms from work-life domains (e.g. technical support). Results show female professionals re-arrange their physical and psychological status to fit in with the gender stereotype and daily challenges from existing resource-demand context; the findings may bring practical implications for organizations to build up a family-friendly workplace.","PeriodicalId":433830,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Engineering, Management Science and Innovation (ICEMSI)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126064762","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It set two weights in the model, in which one weight is for preference and the second is for chance preference ratio. The purpose can be achieved to maximize the sum of double-weighted score. The model is tested through a case study, which involves 65 applicants and 7 tasks. Each applicant can choose 3 preferred tasks and finally each applicant only be assigned to one task. The double-weighted method is proved to surpass the manual operation and single-weighted (preference) method both in preference success rate index and in average score variance index.","PeriodicalId":433830,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Engineering, Management Science and Innovation (ICEMSI)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126259544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We explore several intraday volatility estimators such as daily range, realized range and realized volatility and study how the filter trading profit for a day with certain volatility depends on the filter size. The bivariate thin plate spline model is used to model the predictor-responsor relationship between the daily volatility, filter size and trading profit. The estimation shows that filter trading rule favors large volatilities in general while the optimal filter size is increasing with the volatility. It also shows that the estimation based on daily range volatility is most reliable among all chosen intraday volatility proxies.","PeriodicalId":433830,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Engineering, Management Science and Innovation (ICEMSI)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124216924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
