The treated articles come from the Scopus and Web of Science article databases.Originality/value: Applying a thematic focus that was not yet used before, but that is necessary, the study contributes for the understanding of the entrepreneurial behavior supported on effectuation in crisis contexts.Main results: The SLR identified 14 articles dealing with three types of crises (financial, regarding health and natural crises) responded using effectuation indicating a tendency to the growth of the number of publications about the focused subject. Research needs and paths were characterized to be exploited in new researches.Theoretical/methodological contributions: Central contributions are the description of relations between the effectual principals (bird in hand, affordable loss, crazy quilt, lemonade, and pilot in the plane) and effectuation use in response to three types of crises and the synthetic characterization of relevant publications about the focused subject, which constitutes a facilitator for more researchers interested in the same subject.Social/management contributions: Social actors and managers can use the contents of this article to better understand how the response to crises using effectuation is being carried out in real situations studied in the identified articles of the SLR. This way, their repertoire of useful knowledge to more successfully act in entrepreneurship in the face of crises will be broader. Their content analysis was carried out according to Bardin (2011).Originality: This is the very first study carried out to evaluate the benefits reaped from an interaction between a brewery and a Brazilian government agency grounded in the Lean principles of value co-creation.Results: Managerial implications involved in value co-creation are elucidated in respect of agro-industrial services provided by the brewery and a Brazilian government agency. Thus, Integration Strategy, Protection mechanisms and Growth opportunity constitute key elements in networking orchestration while providing agro-industrial services.Theoretical and methodological contributions: The factors affecting information and knowledge were shared between partners for improving the brewery production chain. The concept of value co-creation allowed overcoming issues of innovation and providing the actors with better services.Management contributions: Once having identified the three basic elements of a successful cooperation, as well as managerial implications concerning the actors involved, this study assists managers and researchers in developing strategies to overcome the obstacles faced in the provision of agro-industrial services based on the Lean principles of value co-creation. From then on, we have been receiving articles to go through the blind double-review editorial process. Our intention with this editorial comment is to make the academic community, especially authors who consider the IJI for their submissions, have one more document option to assist in the elaboration and structuring of their technological research.In 2021, we published the editorial commentary entitled “What we expect from articles submitted to the IJI” which briefly addressed technology articles (Scafuto et al., 2021). Now, in this new editorial comment, we intend not only to bring the information previously discussed, but we want to deepen the discussions with other important elements to contribute to the development of technological articles.We understand that technological articles are assuming an increasingly important role within the academic community, as it is a way to bring together the challenges of organizations with academic research. It is worth remembering that the technological article is one of the twelve technical and technological products that are proposed and evaluated by CAPES (a Brazilian entity for higher education personnel improvement coordination). They are especially important for professional graduate programs in management and related fields. We, the editors of the IJI, recognize the importance of the contribution of professional programs. The IJI is a vehicle for the dissemination of this production to both members of the academic community and practitioners.In this editorial commentary we provide some suggestions for authors who may be interested in submitting their technological articles for evaluation at the IJI. We want to encourage this type of submission, but always in search of articles with quality and relevance for readers. Guidelines for building relevant technological articlesThe technological article is a form of publication that presents and discusses ideas, methods, techniques, processes, and results focused on solving practical problems (Motta, 2017). The technology article generally describes experiences in organizations. Despite describing these experiences, researchers must follow scientific and methodological rigor in writing (Biancolino et al., 2012). The technological article has an elaboration process similar to any other scientific process. We reinforce this scientific and technological rigor due to the nature of the IJI.In 2022, the editorial commentary of Business Horizons Magazine, by Greg Fisher, presents some interesting ideas in line with our perspective on technological articles (Fisher, 2022). Fisher presents three categories that technological articles generally fall into: past; present and future:Past-oriented articles use academic research already carried out and translate into ideas and practical applications for use, facilitating the understanding of ","PeriodicalId":43121,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46489558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective was to determine how being part of a social network affects the decision to introduce participatory budgets made by municipalities in Poland, where a remarkable spread of the innovation has been observed since the early 2010s.Methodology: Spatial autocorrelation tests and visualizations were used to uncover clusters of communes with most similar or dissimilar characteristics.Originality/Relevance: Novelty of the study approach lies in the utilization of an own database – with the intention to overcome the problem of data insufficiency, typical of related research.Main results: The presence of spatial proximity-based peer effects was confirmed in the study. The concentration of innovators has remained spatially uneven, which is to be linked to e.g. the cross-regionally diverse forms of social capital. The data-based study design allows to explore participatory budgets as products of social networks and not only individual strategies, as evidenced by numerous case studies in the field.Methodological contributions: The study demonstrates the relevance of collecting longitudinal data for the development of research on participatory budgets.Social/management contributions: Insights from the study are of practical value for recent and future. adopters, wishing to understand the broader relevance of their policies, as well as for higher level policy-makers trying to better adapt their legal frameworks to the current and future waves of innovators.","PeriodicalId":43121,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2022-10-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44254235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
