We state that the solution lies in consideration the costs as function of positive and negative exponential externalities. The proposed cost-based approach allows finding the optimal distribution of the time staying in the virtual and physical space.Main results: Obtained results of the research proved the following assumptions: interaction with new reality has changed us; a human is irrational in absolute majority; virtuality is a threat and an opportunity to the human. We confirmed that the nature of interaction between physical and virtual reality should takes the form of cooperation to ensure the mankind development.Theoretical / methodological contributions: It is one of the first attempts to develop economic theories and methods by extending them with variables of virtual reality.Social / management contributions: The study presents a broader view on human who exists on the fringes of physical and virtual reality.","PeriodicalId":43121,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2020-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43031328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in the case of Vietnam, the effectiveness of knowledge transfer in FDI enterprises is not clear, especially with the impact of cultural distance between foreign investors and local employees. The main goal of this study is to explore the impact of organizational culture on knowledge transferring in FDI enterprises in Vietnam.Methodology/approach: Based on the original model of Parissa (2003), a research model has been proposed, in which the organizational cultural factors include cultural background, language ability, perceived cultural distance, learning style, and cultural openness. Quantitative research conducted through surveys with 109 respondents, who are working in FDI businesses in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.Originality/Relevance: This research focuses on the direct impact of cultural factors on knowledge transfer at individual level between foreign managers and local employees in Vietnam.Main results: Analytical results showed that three factors had a significant impact on the effectiveness of knowledge transfer, including Cultural openness, Language ability of foreign managers, and Communication distance. Theoretical/methodological contributions: The study helps to test the measurement scales and contributes an empirical study in this field.Social/management contributions: From these results, some managerial suggestions were made to support knowledge transferring between foreign managers and Vietnamese employees.","PeriodicalId":43121,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2020-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41789526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology/Approach : Data on incumbents’ actions related to the sharing economy between 2011 and 2015 was collected from multiple resources. Two conceptual frameworks, the OECD Oslo Manual and Pisano’s Innovation Landscape Map, were jointly used to determine whether incumbents’ actions could be considered as innovation and their level of innovativeness. Originality/Relevance : As the sharing economy has grown rapidly in the last decade, offering new ways to create value, so has the discourse about its disruptive capacity. Yet, not enough is known about the sharing economy’s impact on incumbent firms beyond the disruptive capacity narrative. Main Results : The study identified 187 actions related to the sharing economy that were taken by 134 incumbent firms between 2011 and 2015. Less than half of these actions are considered innovative, and the majority among them are at the lowest end of the innovation continuum. Theoretical/Methodological Contribution : This study contributes to the literature on the sharing economy by developing a synthesized innovation-based framework to evaluate incumbent firms’ response to sharing economy entrants. Social/management contributions : The results of this study and the methodology it uses provide benchmarking opportunities for incumbents in similar circumstances, and also puts into question the disruptive narrative around the sharing economy.","PeriodicalId":43121,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation","volume":"8 1","pages":"176-203"},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2020-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42148488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The publications database is structured as an MS Excel file fed manually from the annals of international conferences and other publications. The database is periodically frozen and the main authors, institutions, countries of origin, and topics are counted.Originality: The work is original in the idea of knowing an academic movement through its results.Main results: The database gathers 2,700 inputs (24% journal papers, 70% conferences communications, and 6% books, chapters, and others). These communications were written by 3,465 authors, an average of 1.28 authors per work. As expected, the creators of the concept, Henry Etzkowitz and Loet Leydesdorff, together or with partners, are responsible for 9.4% of all communications. Countries such as Brazil, the UK, the USA, Russia, and Italy are very active in the movement and organizing a conference was crucial to the dissemination of the concept in their countries.Theoretical contributions: The work contributes to a better understanding of the field of action of the Triple Helix theme. It is useful for researchers looking for literature, gaps, and research topics.Management contributions: The work presents contributions to the Triple Helix Association in the management of the movement and to conference organizers, in general universities, and their partners.","PeriodicalId":43121,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2020-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70889738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this process, we call it agile transformation, which has become the target of more and more companies in the last 20 years with the promise of achieving many benefits.Originality/Relevance: The speed with which things change requires companies to change their course quickly. Therefore, being agile has become a crucial condition for the survival of companies today.Social/management contributions: Some difficulties experienced during the agile transformation, make the companies not reach the full agility, getting lost in the middle of the way, reaching an ambiguous form of the agile. Originality / Relevance : According to prior studies in literature, there is no specific model that supports and explains ERPBI, and as such, this increases the chances of ineffective adoption and use of ERPBI. This study found that ERPBI adoption models are lacking, and those that exist are inapplicable as they exclude several significant factors for successful adoption. Main results : The findings indicated that for the promotion of the ERPBI model, the entire significant factors have to be considered and incorporated. Those factors are: system quality, service quality, and information quality factors, change management, effective communication, training factors, clear vision and planning, competitive pressure, and government role. Theoretical / methodological contributions : This study’s results open door for future research based on the gap in theories applied and the factors investigated in the context of developing nations. Methodology/approach: Through an applied research, as survey type, with quantitative approach applied to a population of 787 companies that received financial assistance to the innovations development, a sample of 79 companies was obtained and the data of the survey were submitted to descriptive and cluster analysis. Originality/Relevance: Studies related to management accounting (MA) and innovation tend to identify how MA can influence the innovation capacity of organizations, either positively or negatively, thus, this study seeks to advance the theme, with a relationship in another sense, analyzing how Innovation can influence the adoption of practices of management accounting. Main results: Most of the organizations have, formally constituted, a department responsible for the management accounting information, the majority of companies were small size or medium companies. Regarding to the adoption of practices of management accounting (MA), it was identified the traditional practices of second stage usage with greater intensity, as breakeven point, budgeting and product profitability analysis. There was also a differentiation in the usage levels of the practices between organizations with innovative characteristics, with the most innovative companies using more modern MA practices. Theoretical/methodological contributions: This research contributes to the understanding that there may be a gap between the needs of the organizations and what is developed and employed by MA besides showing that innovation can be a factor which can positively influence the adoption of more recently emergent practices.
