Little is known about how such couples experience this separation. To fill this gap, the current interview-based research examined how three pairs of Polish athletes aged 22-30 (M = 23.50, SD = 25.17) experience separation in their relationships. The thematic analysis identified four themes: 1) Perception of separation as an element of the relationship; 2) Emotions during separation; 3) Maintaining contact during separation; and 4) Coping with separation. The findings revealed that athletes and their partners perceived separation as a stage, opportunity, necessity, and natural part of their relationships. Emotions related to separation ranged from negative through mixed to positive. Partners maintained regular contact, which provided closeness and continuity in their relationships despite the distance. Finally, partners coped with separation by accepting its necessity, enhanced by the awareness of the realities of sport life. They also coped with separation through mutual support, self-realization, distraction and being among other people and seeking support from them. This study suggests that physical separation in romantic relationships may be an essential and multifaceted part of the participants’ experiences in the romantic functioning and sports careers.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135168160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, educating for citizen participation and democracy is one of the main tasks in this stage since it lays the foundations for personal development, and it is the last stage in which competencies are developed globally. This exploratory type of research carries out a qualitative analysis of the results of a didactic intervention whose purpose is this task. It was carried out with a sample of 143 students, chosen by convenience procedure, not probabilistic, under the necessary conditions to participate in the intervention during the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic years. Its objective is to analyze the training of secondary education students in Spain from the areas of social sciences and philosophy for democratic participation in society. The analysis methodology was qualitative and was carried out with the help of WEBQDA software. The results show an evolution in the knowledge about the concepts of \"democracy\" and \"participation\" and the disposition for citizen participation in the students included in the sample.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135256165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researcher used a descriptive-analytical technique in this study, and the sample consisted of 350 children who were abused by their parents. The researcher designed a questionnaire to identify the most common forms of parental violence (physical, sexual, verbal, economic, and psychological) against children as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed that parents staying at home during the COVID-19 pandemic led to a high prevalence of risks of parental violence against children, at 79.84%. Verbal violence ranked first at 21.3%, followed by psychological violence at 21%. Physical violence came in third place at 20.5%, economic violence at 18.7%, and sexual violence at 18.5%. One of the most important recommendations of this study is the necessity to take a set of serious measures, such as strengthening family values between parents and children, in order to strengthen the family unit in times of crisis, in general, and during the COVID-19 crisis, in particular.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135745598","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Centrado particularmente en las representaciones sociales de la discapacidad que se desprenden del cuidado familiar. El objetivo fue contribuir a la reflexión sobre las formas de constituir el objeto público de atención y protección social de los cuidados a las personas con diversidad funcional dentro del entorno familiar. La metodología llevada a cabo ha sido cualitativa. Las principales técnicas de investigación son la revisión documental y el análisis crítico del discurso de la normativa andaluza que regula la protección social. Desde una perspectiva hermenéutica examinamos prácticas concretas de intervención social, triangulando el análisis crítico del discurso con el conocimiento multisituado y la observación participante. Las políticas públicas de cuidados en Andalucía representan a las personas con diversidad funcional como dependientes. Las personas con diversidad funcional no son consideradas autosuficientes para cuidar de sí mismas, quedando atrapadas bajo nociones de fragilidad, indefensión, vulnerabilidad, protección y tutela. Se justifica un discurso centrado en el cuidado del/a cuidador/a familiar y los cuidados más básicos de las personas con diversidad funcional. En cambio, se desatienden responsabilidades públicas encaminadas a la participación social de las personas con discapacidad.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.4,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90993547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tras la finalización del conflicto armado con las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia Ejército del Pueblo (FARC-EP), Colombia se encuentra en una crisis definicional en cuanto a la seguridad. Eso ha generado una condición de ansiedad colectiva, tanto entre los ciudadanos como entre las instituciones que ha dado lugar a contextos de graves inseguridades y violencias. En este artículo, nos proponemos abordar ¿Por qué es importante considerar la construcción de la seguridad ontológica en el contexto colombiano? ¿Cómo afecta la ansiedad nacional a los problemas de seguridad del Estado? Mediante una aproximación metodológica de variables instrumentales, hemos formulado la hipótesis de que la falta de atención a la seguridad ontológica en Colombia ha impedido la identificación del sentido de la seguridad más allá del enfoque tradicional de la militarización de la agenda. Esta falta de atención ha facilitado la comprensión de la ansiedad como un elemento crucial para afirmar que una nación ansiosa es, en sí misma, peligrosa. Hemos encontrado que las distorsiones conceptuales conducen a la definición arbitraria de la seguridad nacional, y que la ansiedad es producto de las desconexiones estatales con las cotidianidades ciudadanas. Esto produce desconfianza y, por consiguiente, inseguridad.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.4,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75575959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La investigación más reciente presta atención al impacto que tiene en estas prácticas la generalización de los medios digitales y, en particular, de los dispositivos móviles y los medios sociales. En el presente artículo se busca analizar la percepción de menores españoles entre 11 y 17 años del papel de sus padres y madres en la gestión y manejo de contenido que ellos hacen de las redes sociales (challenges, publicaciones y seguimiento a influencers, desinformación, bulos). Para ello, se planteó un estudio cualitativo mediante la celebración de 12 grupos de discusión en los que las alusiones a la familia se centraron en dos dimensiones: como fuente de información a nivel general o como fuente de restricciones ante un uso que se cree excesivo. Asimismo, los menores perciben que los grupos familiares de WhatsApp son la vía por la cual reciben más bulos. Además, explicitan la tendencia a disponer de dos perfiles en una misma red social: una cuenta pública, más abierta en la que aceptan a sus padres, y una privada, que reservan sólo para las amistades cercanas.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.4,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88015194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also something that lecturers must be prepared to address. Through a pretest-posttest study, we analyze which sustainability values and attitudes preservice teacher acquire when they work with activities on sustainability. A total of 359 students completed the process. At the same time, we analyze the attitudes and knowledge held by the lecturers who carry out these activities in sustainability education. The findings regarding the difficulty students have in integrating the various aspects of sustainability are discussed, as well as the gaps and resistance of the lecturers who design and develop such processes. Future research could be designed in such a way that causal relationships could be established between the type of instructional design, the results obtained, and the conceptions and beliefs of lecturers regarding sustainability.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.4,"publicationDate":"2023-07-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89705263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Esto para responder: (i) ¿Cuáles son los determinantes del teletrabajo? (ii) ¿Cómo han evolucionado recientemente? y (iii) ¿qué similitudes y diferencias se encuentran entre los países estudiados? Para ello, se propone una perspectiva teórica para optar por utilizar el teletrabajo con base en la racionalidad de las empresas y los trabajadores. Además, se estimaron modelos econométricos de elección binaria. Se encuentra que la probabilidad de utilizar el teletrabajo aumenta en los sectores cuaternario y terciario de la economía; en pequeñas y, recientemente, en grandes empresas; en trabajadores con experiencia y, especialmente, con altos niveles de formación. En cuanto a la evolución de estos determinantes, las estimaciones indican que la relevancia del nivel de educación, la experiencia laboral y los sectores propensos al teletrabajo han ido aumentando con el tiempo; mientras que tener niños en casa muestra un efecto cada vez más negativo, aunque leve. Al comparar países, se encuentra que los determinantes del teletrabajo y sus principales patrones son similares.","PeriodicalId":43006,"journal":{"name":"International and Multidisciplinary Journal of Social Sciences-RIMCIS","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.4,"publicationDate":"2023-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74522626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
