Moreover, an agent can have a characteristic called “Learning” skill. More efficient operation of an agent can be expected by realizing “Learning” skill. In this research, our aim is to support an agent designer who designs and develops an agent equipped with “Learning” skill. We propose a design support mechanism of a learning agent on a repository-based agent framework called the DASH framework. The proposed mechanism enables an agent designer to design and implement the learning agent without great expertise, thereby reducing the designer's burden. Herein, we explain the DASH framework, Q-Learning, and the proposed design support mechanism. So, to reduce the dimensionality of the iris image and improve the recognition rate, an iris features extraction method based on curvelet transform is proposed and presented in this paper. Thus, our paper focuses on presenting of our curvelet-based iris features extraction method. This method consists of two steps: decompose images into set of sub-bands by the curvelet transform and automatic extraction of the most discriminative features of these sub-bands. After we propose the macro structure of the proposed integrated system, we describe two fundamental methods to generate narrative structures and controlling the execution. And we show a pilot or preliminary version for the system developed by a kind of “bricolage” of existing programs corresponding to each module in the narrative generation process. Last, we discuss some issues for building the next version of the integrated narrative generation system. However, these systems present the following two problems: 1) advanced analysis and processing of sensor data are difficult because of the resource limitation of sensor nodes, 2) such analyses and processing burden the network because numerous sensor data are sent to the network. As described in this paper, we propose the method for sensor data analysis and processing using a host computer located in the neighborhood of sensor nodes (neighborhood host). This method is intended to achieve a good balance between reducing the network load and advanced sensor data analysis and processing. Moreover, this method incorporates reduction of the load to sensor nodes. We implement a prototype system to evaluate this method. This system estimates human motion using the acceleration sensor that generates sensor data frequently. We conduct some initial experiments using this prototype system. The experimentally obtained results show that the proposed method can reduce the network load by processing the acquired sensor data in the neighborhood of sensors. EP, originally based upon Darwin's theory of natural selection, seeks to explain various psychological phenomena. Theories of cognition proposed in EP can be examined through artificial life (also known as A-Life) research that involves the study of organic systems and their adaptive behaviors. Romantic behavior is a key component of the human reproductive process and is therefore conducive to evolution. The simulation and analysis of such romantic behavior is possible through A-Life research. This article explores the biological origin of romantic behavior in addition to theories regarding the phenomenon known as “love.” Through the implementation of romantic characteristics on robots in a virtual society, we analyze the impact “love” has on their chance for survival. The design process is based on a protocol analysis used to detect problems with the existing controller through a usability assessment. The process then focuses on the menu structure and error location in a detailed analysis, and proposes an improved design for the smart phone application that emulates a video controller. The resultant application is tested to show how much the usability has been enhanced. Based on research achievements of face cognition, this paper reviews facial expression cognition mainly in micro expression, reasons of cognition differences in facial expression and developing research methods. We present some experimental results and reports of cognition differences in some highly related areas such as age, cultural and the special ethnic groups. The system aims at supporting citizen e-Participation in ongoing regional debates by gathering and openly publishing news and opinions from the Web for easy comprehension and commenting. Our study helps us define relevant evaluation criteria for an adequate citizen discussion system in the new context of open government, the Web, and mobile computing. We present the system, O2, and its application citispe@k, as well as its underlying components: ontology structure, classification and clustering.
