The usual method implemented to determine its quality was usually inaccurate that results in pre-mature periodic maintenance of the car. This has resulted in additional expenses failing to optimize the oil's lifespan. To optimize the car's performance while reducing the cost, a study developing machine vision system to scan the car oil's engine using the software LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) to provide the car owners the easiest way to monitor the quality of the oil. In the software's failure modes are essential for cost-effective oil monitoring techniques to help to protect important industry assets, minimize breakdowns and lessen maintenance costs. The effective indicator of oil degradation process is the measurement of the complex permittivity and viscosity of the lubricant. It is helpful in maintaining the condition of the oil to select the adequate replacement of oil maintenance schedule through image processing with the use of how much light of LED can pass through the oil sample. The system computes the light intensity of the scanned sample oil and thus produces an output indicating whether the car was needed for periodic maintenance.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126207000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Python and scikit-learn were used to run the following machine learning algorithms: artificial neural network (ANN), stochastic gradient descent (SGD), k-nearest neighbors (k-NN) algorithm, support vector machine (SVM), decision tree (DT) and random forest (RF). Comparisons were made between the aforementioned machine learning algorithms by evaluating the accuracy and the average running time of each training model. Results of the study show that the SGD is superior in terms of accuracy but falls short to k-NN and SVC in terms of running time. In this fashion, a plot between the accuracy and the running time was made and it was observed that algorithms with higher accuracies correspondingly have also higher running times. By this very nature, experimental results show that the SGD holds merit in accurately assessing the coconut sugar quality, despite its expense in running time.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114512082","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The antenna plays a crucial role for the performance of the RFID system, thus determining the appropriate material used for antenna is important. This paper presents a comparative study of different materials for passive high frequency (HF) tag antenna for RFID applications. Three materials are being utilized for three different fabrication methods which are Printed Circuit Board (PCB), Copper Tape, and Magnetic Wire. Every fabrication method has a variation of 5 turns and 7 turns for the coil antenna. The type of antenna being designed are planar rectangular coil and multilayer rectangular coil. The design undergone thorough simulation through Keysight Advance Design System (ADS). The fabricated designs are tested using RFID Reader and Digital Oscilloscope. An analysis and comparison of results were done and dictates that the received voltage is inversely proportional to the reading distance. the number of turns is also inversely proportional with the received voltage. Copper tape with 5 turns garners the highest received voltage at minimum distance, which is 904 mV. PCB is suited for moderate received voltage at minimum distance. Meanwhile, magnetic wire with 7 turns has the highest maximum reading distance of 11 cm and highest LED turn-on distance of 6 cm. Moreover, cost analysis of materials is being included to determine which material is most suitable for low-cost applications.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114412600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Coming from a designed wirelessly controlled mobile robotic platform capable of navigating an unknown environment, creating a 3D reconstruction of said environment, while detecting human sources it could find while performing real time 3d reconstruction of the given environment. The purpose of the project is to assist rescue operatives by providing computer generated model of the environment and allow rescue teams to analyze and learn the general layout of the area without being expendable to following hazards from the unknown environments as well as identifying the presence of humans and damage done and possible effects of hazardous reaction. Giving the team to search and route giving priority to saving as much survivors possible. The project was done by using a mobile platform and an RGBD camera, through autonomous navigation or manual control, to generate a graphical representation of the traversed area of the mobile platform and running a face detection algorithm which could alarm operators by audio cue or sound from the video. Upon examination of the results, it was found that the fabricated platform is, indeed, capable of exploring an unknown area, developing a close approximation of the area using a 3D map, detecting faces scattered throughout the area, all while performing wirelessly, separate from the viewing terminal despite its limitations. This research shows the potential that robots possess in assisting rescue operations.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130073551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of these institutions experience a shortage of resources such as teachers and infrastructures. Having small time to recruit, institutions likely to resort in employing beginners to avoid overloading and to fill vacancies immediately. However, directly reassigning classes from senior teacher to the new teacher may lead to unmatched skills required to teach a particular course and more constraints violations. This study presents a hybrid genetic algorithm for course scheduling and teaching workload management. The genetic algorithm is employed with four neighboring operators identified using self-adaptive mechanism during the search process. A data structure of unused resources is used to guide the operators to unused periods. Repair operator is applied to increase the optimality of the solutions. Results show that the proposed algorithm generates feasible and optimized workloads and timetables. The automated system can relieve the decision-makers from the burden of tedious and time-consuming scheduling task in every semester. Hiring additional teaching staff and managing workloads are now much more convenient.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127685193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our country is in complete dependence on other countries concerning supplying the prime movers for its primary source of power. The Department of Science and Technology initiated developing a 12Hp single cylinder diesel engine. And to make it acceptable to the user, performance evaluation of engine was conducted as necessary for their commercial operation. PAES 117:2000 is the basis of assessing the engine performance and tested at starting condition, varying load performance and during a continuous run. Based on the result, the average maximum power was rated 93.9% (8.42 kW). Likewise, the average fuel consumption was 3.15 L/hr. Also, the average continuous power as a percentage of the rated maximum power was 83.6% (7.48 kW). During the continuous running test, the average maximum noise level of the prototypes was 90.6 dB(A). It showed that the engine developed achieved the standard performance conditions and comparable to the leading brands of commercial engines of the same power rating.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127292959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As many cases of arrhythmia result to fatality, it is the goal of this research to develop a method to analyze this condition through the use of ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD). EEMD is a variant of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) which solves its weakness in terms of mode mixing. EEMD results to the decomposition of a signal into its intrinsic mode functions(IMFs). The IMFs, together with their power spectral densities (PSDs) of photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals are analyzed for cases with and without ventricular fibrillation. Also, IMFs and PSDs are used as the features for classifying the presence of this condition. Principal component analysis (PCA) is used to reduce the large dimension of the features. In classifying, k-NN classifier was used. It was found that the IMFs of a signal with and without ventricular fibrillation resampled at 250 Hz and at window length of 1000 has most of its signal energy at the 5thto 8th siftings. The highest overall classification accuracy of 83.75%was achieved with noise width of 0.1. Thus, the ensemble empirical mode decomposition of PPG signals was successfully used for assessment of ventricular fibrillation and further modifications with the parameters and pre-processing techniques may be done to improve classification accuracy based on this feature.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124006887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
