The principles of hemocytometer counting method were also performed to count and compare the output readings from the laboratory results. The red blood corpuscles (RBC) count is one of the essential elements that medical practitioners used for medical diagnosis of patients. Because of the morphological features of the RBC on the image file, different approach yields in the processing including image enhancement to reveal certain features such as edges and contours in the RBC. The concavity in the RBC was useful in the blob analysis with the watershed algorithm that leads to the segmentation of overlapping cells in clusters. The proposed procedure gives 96.042% accuracy for female test subject and 95.559% on the male test subject using two trials each with ten samples on each trial. The proposed procedure is successful by getting a results compared to the manual count performed in the laboratory. The use of the application program created using MatLab for blob analysis yield a good results in recognizing red cells and for counting each segmented cells.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116437697","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The more secret data is embedded into an image, the more it begins to look different from the original image. The more the image looks altered, the more it will be suspected of hiding something else other than the visible picture that it is displaying. This study proposes a novel image steganographic approach that produces secret-embedded images with payload capacity comparable with other late variations of spatial domain steganography techniques but with a better imperceptibility level. The nature of the approach is similar to classic LSB (Least Significant Bit) substitution steganography techniques wherein the bit information of the secret message is embedded into the image by replacing the LSB value of its pixel, except that this approach had the embedding bits undergo a series of evaluated and scored bit rotation and inversion operations prior bit replacement in its attempt to embed secret bits into an image with minimal pixel distortion as possible. This study however does not explore the security aspect of the generated image against its resistance to geometric and steganalysis attacks.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123484572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Others have to rely on the rain to collect water, but during the summer season, this poses an immense challenge. People have to exert a lot of manpower to collect water specifically those who are far and elevated from the water source. They have to buy water pumps, powered either by gasoline or electricity. Places that have running water like a river, is an example of a body of water that can be a source using its current. The purpose of the study is to develop a river current hydrokinetic siphoning device that can collect water without using electricity or fuel. The current of the river drives the turbine to rotate and supplies water to the Polyethylene (PE) Coil that collects water, as the other intake rotates, pressure is created to push the liquid upward. The prototype can be used in different types of water as long as the water current is enough to drive the turbine. It must be submerged $1/2$ ft. below water level and it is capable of siphoning water with a vertical height of 20 feet and can push water ranging from 492.15 to 656.17 feet in horizontal distance. The river current hydrokinetic siphoning device can collect 1 gallon of water for 1 minute and 30 seconds. The prototype has two floaters to adjust to different water levels. It is mounted on a concrete structure connected on both sides of the river to ensure its continuous operation.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116805714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper discusses the design of a cascode shut-off LNA configuration with high level of linearity using modified derivative superposition method. This configuration can work switchably between legacy and CA mode with minimal degradation in its linearity using load disconnection. The proposed architecture is designed using the RF library of TSMC 65-nm CMOS technology and is tested at Long-Term Evolution (LTE) band 2. The LNA achieved an 18. 6dBm input-referred third-order intercept point (IIP3), 13. 7dB S21 and 1.42 noise figure (NF) in CA mode. In legacy mode, it has attained an IIP3 value of 17. 4dBm, 13. 3dB S21, 1.47 noise figure (NF. It consumed 13mA of current at 2.5-V source in both CA and legacy modes.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125928162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to identify significant relationship of fire incidents in terms of location and time to build a model of fire risk forecasting in the capital city of Manila. A total of 3,506 fire incidents were recorded by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) during the six-year period from 2011 to 2016. The overall record are 3506 fire incidents included in the study which analyzed using the Pearson’s Chi-square statistical technique. The summer months February to May showed the utmost number of fire, and that most fire incidents occurred from 9 AM to 11 AM and from 6 PM to 10 PM. The highest number of fire incidents recorded happened in the densely-populated districts of Sampaloc and Tondo. The study shows that there are no significant relationship of location (space) to time and to day however in terms of location to month and year show highly significant. The findings of this study can prove useful to the BFP office in Manila, in that they need to look at recurring trends in fire incidents in terms of location and month to create programs aimed towards fire prevention awareness. This research can be extended to include other spatial factors such as weather conditions and geographical coordinates in the assessment of fire incidents.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128711764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, small working envelopes due to the use of multiple trocars restrict the use of MIS instruments. Performing a complicated surgical operation requires a very skillful surgeon. Many researches on the use of robotic surgery were proposed and developed recently. With robots, operation accuracy can improve significantly, reducing labor intensity and minimizing the effect of human errors. One of the critical parameters of robotic surgery is force sensing. There are several force sensing types and one of them is sensing with the use of pneumatic cylinder. This force sensing utilizes compressible air characteristics and does not require any sensor on the instrument tip. This method is superior to other sensing techniques in terms of structure. Its only drawback is the modeling and computational complexity. Pneumatics has high non-linearity generated by air compressibility. In order to sense force accurately, a complex model needs to be established. In this study, neural network was used to estimate the external force on a pneumatic cylinder. The pneumatic system model was developed in MATLAB R2018a that takes into consideration the compressibility and the friction. To simulate the network model, a direct external force was applied to the pneumatic cylinder. Results provided a high accuracy of force estimation using the proposed model.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128726894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While successful to some extent, a significant number of cases have been documented where the methods failed to generate lasting improvement, or resulted in problems of a different nature. Based on Lean case studies, the cause of failure is likely the lack of a holistic view of the context of software development prior to applying either Agile or Lean methods. The current study applies the system dynamics framework in generating this perspective. This allowed for the software development process to be mapped as a collection of feedback loops. From doing so, it was found that developers tended to neglect key support activities under backlog pressure, which made the actual development processes less efficient. Based on the system structure, it is recommended that the causal relationship between the support activities and actual development be made explicit. This would serve as a feedback mechanism to reinforce practice of the support activities.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121562663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Energy sources could be abundant; however, conversion and utilization to a more effective output need to be discovered. There is a wide variety of existing vertical axis wind turbines, VAWT, but the efficiency is low compared to that of a horizontal axis wind turbine because of the presence of counter flow drag. In order to address this problem, a vertical axis wind turbine with deflectable blades that would minimize counter drag flow and maximize efficiency is designed and developed. The newly developed VAWT makes the blades deflect at a certain angle. The deflection of the blade eliminates the counter flow drag force that makes the efficiency of the vertical axis turbine increase. The results of the tests show that using the deflecting blades for vertical axis wind turbine is more efficient. The developed deflectable blade can be further improved by using lighter materials and a gear system can be considered for better speed ratio.","PeriodicalId":426103,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 10th International Conference on Humanoid, Nanotechnology, Information Technology,Communication and Control, Environment and Management (HNICEM)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133989413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
