Beyond the conventional power dissipation of heating to maintain a certain working temperature, a novel gas sensor with magnetic-catalytic mechanism works at the ambient temperature without the consideration of active heating. The design and fabrication is realized by the standard 0.35μm CMOS process to fabricate a gas sensor with mesh stacked electrodes. For the preparation of magnetic sensing material, a prepared solution of sol-gel SnO2 is mixed at SnO2 : Fe3O4 = 3:1, which was deposited onto mesh stacked electrodes. Moreover, to obtain a stable gas sensing signal, a pulse sampling scheme is proposed in this research work. Since the resistance of sensing material with sol-gel deposition shows a drift behavior under a DC bias circuit. We have proposed a new signal reading scheme with a pulse-type bias for a bridge sensing circuit. Only under the sampling phase, the sensing current flows through the sensing material which induces a voltage drop across the resistance. For the CO concentration measurement, the sample is tested and verified inside a CO gas chamber with a magnetic field generator of solenoid coil. Previously, we proposed a performance estimation method using the PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) as a spectral distortion measure. However, there is the problem that the relationship between the recognition performance and the distortion value differs depending on the noise reduction algorithm used. To solve this problem, we propose a novel performance estimation method that uses an estimator defined as a function of the distortion value and the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) of noise-reduced speech. The estimator is applicable to different noise reduction algorithms without any modification. However, its real-time operation is not guaranteed due to its high computational complexity. In this paper, we designed a Hough transform hardware accelerator on FPGA to process it in real time. Its FPGA logic area usage was reduced by limiting the angles of the lines to (-20, 20) degrees which are enough for lane detection applications, and its arithmetic computations were performed in parallel to speed up the processing time. As a result of FPGA synthesis using Xilinx Vertex-5 XC5VLX330 device, it occupies 4,521 slices and 25.6Kbyte block memory giving performance of 10,000fps in VGA images(5000 edge points). The proposed hardware on FPGA (0.1ms) is 450 times faster than the software implementation on ARM Cortex-A9 1.4GHz (45ms). A 3-D simulation model based on the magneto-hydrodynamics theory is built and calculated. The basic arc parameters are described by the coupled equations of gas dynamics and electromagnetic field. By adopting a thin layer of nonlinear resistance elements to represent the voltage drop of plasma sheath, the arc splitting process is included. The detailed arc behaviors are presented and preliminarily discussed according to the calculated temperature and arc current distributions. Moreover, experiments are carried out to validate the simulation results. With the purpose of adapting to vibration and high-speed wind load on the aircraft, we adopt anti-mechanics and anti-wind load design. This paper proposes an improvement on the Euler number computing algorithm used in the famous image processing tool MATLAB. By use of the information obtained during processing the previous pixel, the number of times of checking the neighbor pixels for processing a pixel decrease from 4 to 2. Our method is very simple in principle, and easily implemented. The performance of the constructed codes was tested in bit-patterned media recording channels. The obtained performance of the proposed codes was compared with that of the existing codes. On one hand, a large and fine dictionary is needed to achieve high estimation accuracy. On the other hand, big dictionary also introduce heavy computations. Furthermore, one can imagine that no matter how fine we grid the domain to create the dictionary, there always will be off-grid problem, namely, the parameters we try to estimate do not lie on the grids. In this work, we model this off-grid problem as a basis mismatch. To tackle this issue, we propose to utilize the robust optimization techniques such as stochastic robust and worst case optimization.
