To solve this problem, a subspace reconstruction based technique, which takes advantage of the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm and tow ship interference’s unique features (including partial coherence, high intensity, and multipath effect), is utilized to suppress the tow ship interference in this paper. This technique is achieved by separating the eigenspace into target subspace, interference subspace, and noise subspace, and then combing the last two into a whole interference-noise subspace to conduct the MUSIC processing. Through principle analysis, we demonstrated that the steering vectors of signals are almost orthogonal to the interference-noise subspace, enabling this technique to suppress the tow ship interference as well as retain the signal output. Moreover, this technique could achieve simultaneous suppression of all the multipath interferences in the interference-noise subspace, making it a superior approach to eliminate the tow ship interference’s azimuth spread. The validity and unique advantages of this method are further demonstrated in simulation and real data processing, which present improved target detectability and display effect.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130759226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a novel channel estimation scheme based on residual networks (ResNet)-deep neural networks (DNN), called as Res-DNN scheme, for the FBMC systems. In the Res-DNN scheme, the conventional channel estimation and equalization module and the demapping module are replaced by a Res-DNN model of deep learning. Simulation results show that the channel estimation performance of the Res-DNN scheme is greatly superior to other schemes in terms of bit error rate (BER).","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"4576 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132875115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time, a dynamic precoding scheme is needed when the mobile station (MS) is moving. In this paper, we propose a simplified precoding scheme based on the concept of beam domain and an adaptive allocation scheme for next generation railway mobile communications. First, we reduce the dimension of the channel in the beam domain, simplify the precoding calculation. Then, the beam set is adjusted according to the position information during the MS movement, so that the beam set with the highest gain is allocated to the MS. Finally, the feasibility of this scheme is verified by simulation.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130215560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, wireless transmissions at very high frequency suffer from limitations of short transmission range, blockage, and interference. In the Fat-Tree hybrid DCN, ToRs are classified into two types: ToRs within the same pod (intra-pod ToR) and ToRs between different pods (inter-pod ToR). To establish wireless links between inter-pod ToR switches is more efficient than that within the intra-pod, due to the reduction of switches and the cost resulting from multihop transmissions. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient offline deployment scheme to construct the Fat-Tree hybrid DCN by jointly considering the wired and wireless links. The proposed sheme can maximize the number of wireless links between inter-pod ToRs and make the wireless links distribute evenly among different pods. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme can potentially exploit the wireless links between different pods to enhance the network energy efficiency by reducing the average path length and the use of switches in the hybrid DCNs.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130480406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In contrast to hand-crafted ones, features extracted from a CNN retain high spatial resolution while preserving semantic information. The improvements come at the risk of reduction in speed and over-fitting caused by the insufficiency of training data for tracking. In this paper, a novel Hierarchical Convolutional Features and Sparse learning based Tracker (HCFST) is proposed. We effectively tackle the issues of computational bottlenecks and over-fitting in the DCF formulation via the multi-task sparse learning. First, most of the noisy and irrelevant feature maps are safely removed for robust appearance modeling. Redundant features rejection effectively mitigates the redundancy among features from hierarchical layers of CNNs. Then a sparser updating scheme is further presented for conditional model update. Extensive experiments are performed on various challenging sequences from OTB50 and OTB100 datasets. The proposed HCFST performs favorably against state-of-the-art methods.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129287315","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the development of smartphone and sensor technique, using smartphone to recognize human activity seems possible. However, due to the diversity of activities, it is not easy to distinguish them, especially for the similar activities. In this paper, we focus on the HAR with the smartphone. We construct a 5-element vector according to the outputs from the 3-axis accelerometer to eliminate the effect of orientation. Then we study the features of activity data from three aspects time domain, frequency domain and time-frequency domain. After that a feature set is chosen for the similarity activity recognition. Experimental results show that this feature set works well under the Multi-Layer Perception classification, even for the general daily activities.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125502406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Massive MIMO is considered as one of the most important technologies to achieve the purpose and its benefits have been proved by theoretical analysis and field trials. However, the antenna size and weight have become the bottlenecks on the deployment in the realistic network. To tackle this problem, a novel flexible antenna structure for massive MIMO, known as multi-panel massive MIMO, was proposed and attracted broad attention in 3GPP NR (New Radio). Currently the performance of the multi-panel massive MIMO is studied in literature by the numerical simulation, however the field measurements to characterize the actual performance of multi-panel massive MIMO have been scarce so far. In this article, we first present a detailed description of our developed multi-panel massive MIMO prototype and then provide our radiation pattern measurement results and field test results. These experimental measurement results not only justify the validity of the coverage beamforming pattern, but also demonstrate that the multi-panel massive MIMO can achieve significant throughout gain. Based on these measurement results, it can be seen that multi-panel massive MIMO will be a novel practical antenna array structure for massive MIMO flexible deployment in the next generation cellular systems.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"236 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125552053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed algorithm applies different updating schemes, such as the normalized min-sum (NMS) simplification and linear approximation, to the check-node based on its degree. Meanwhile, to eliminate the dependence on the channel variance estimation, the proposed algorithm adopts a multiplicative factor to initialize the channel input and a fixed linear functions for check-node updating. From the iterative thresholds and decoding simulations, our proposed algorithm can be shown to achieve improved performance (much closer to that of the belief propagation decoding) at the expense of a slight increase in complexity to NMS algorithm.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121599207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The array consisting of two separated nested subarrays with dual baselines is used to form the DOA problem. And we present a new DOA estimation method, called weighting signal subspace MUSIC method (WSSMUSIC). By designing the separated nested array and using Khatri-Rao product processing, a large number of virtual array apertures are extended. With the redundancy removal and spatial smoothing, the rank of covariance matrix is restored. The short baseline within subarray yields non-ambiguous coarse DOA estimation by WSSMUSIC. Then the long baseline between subarray yields high accuracy and non-ambiguous DOA estimation by WSSMUSIC searching peak in search region which is determined by coarse DOA and main-lobe region. The virtual extension of aperture can be achieved for this array without increasing the number of sensors and computational complexity compared with traditional uniform linear array. And the proposed algorithm gives significant improvement in DOA estimation performance. The simulation results validate the theoretical algorithm.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123106176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A path planning algorithm is presented to improve the performance of the passive detection and tracking for the mobile underwater wireless sensor network(MUWSNs). The target state is modeled as a random finite set, and the Bernoulli filter is utilized to detect and track the target. Moreover, the filter is associated with the path planning algorithm based on two reward functions: the Rényi divergence and the Fisher information gain. The simulations are performed with some practical underwater acoustic environmental parameters, and the results show that the proposed path planning algorithm can improve the detection and tracking performance of the MUWSNs. For the comparison of two reward functions, the results indicate that the algorithm with Rényi divergence has lower position errors.","PeriodicalId":423073,"journal":{"name":"2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125294892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
