Foram analisadas 60 amostras, quatro (6,67%) foram positivas para dermatofitos sendo a T. mentagrophytes a mais ocorrente. As formas leveduriformes do genero Candida foram isoladas em 35% (21/60) das unhas analisadas, destas 52,3% foram para C. krusei . A baixa positividade para a presenca de dermatofitos nas amostras de pacientes atendidos no CIS pode ser em decorrencia da falta de estruturas reprodutivas necessarias para a identificacao. O estudo foi importante visto que normalmente as micoses sao infeccoes negligenciadas e poucos estudos relatam a presenca dos agentes etiologicos, a maioria das pessoas apenas recebem tratamento sem um diagnostico laboratorial previo o que enfatiza a importância de estudos que identificam a epidemiologia.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46528502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason a total of eight Simmental cows (four nulliparous and four multiparous dairy cows) were randomly assigned to the 4 experimental treatments in Latin square design with 4 cows each. The experimental period lasted 56 days. The cows were feed by basal diet as control, 3, 6 and 12 percentages of whey powders in their daily diets respectively. The result indicated that the feed intake (kg/d) was increased by using different levels of whey powder. Data showed that there were no significant effects between treatments about feed intake compared to the control. The result showed that the milk protein percentage was increased none significantly by whey powder compared to the control. Milk fat induced and percentage milk protein improved as a result of whey powder supplementation. Data from current study indicate that the milk lactose, milk non-fat solids and milk total solids values in the treatments are none significantly different. As result revealed milk somatic cell increased when cows were fed by different levels of whey powder and their number increased with increasing consumption of whey powder. The presented results in this study showed that Milk urea nitrogen had decreased by whey powder, but Milk urea had tended to increase significantly (P≤0.05). It seems that using different levels of whey powder could positive effects on feed intake, milk yield and its composition on Holstein dairy cows.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43749494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This disease can be primary or secondary, the primary being of genetic origin and the secondary acquired. The clinical presentation is variable, with skin thickening, focal, multifocal or diffuse vesicular lesions, among others, and the places most affected by these lesions are the chest and pelvic limbs, the neck and the head of the animal. The definitive diagnosis can be obtained by performing histopathological examination. The present study aimed to report a clinical case of cutaneous mucinosis in a Shar-pei canine with vesicular lesions located on the anterior, posterior, periocular regions and pinna, the lesions contained a colorless and viscous aspect content. The diagnosis of cutaneous mucinosis was established through histopathological examination and the treatment was instituted in two moments, in the first, topical mupirocin and shampoo containing phytosphingosine and fomblin were administered, in the second, topical hydrocortisone aceponate and shampoo containing modified urea and omega-3 were used. The animal had remission of the lesions, and quarterly monitoring was recommended for better control of the disease.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44960413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The hygienic-sanitary condition of production is the first step in the manufacture of a product that guarantees food safety for consumers. Based on this, the need for information about food safety during processing was the premise for the present study, which aimed to conduct a survey on the hygienic-sanitary quality of fresh Minas cheese and if these products pose a risk to the consumer. This review was based on articles available in the SciELO database, CAPES journals, PubMed and MEDLINE and other publications of journals in databases in the area of Food Science and Technology and the respective legislation in force. Publications on microbiological quality of fresh Minas cheeses published between the years 2016 to 2020 were selected and in order to guide the research, the following terms were consulted: fresh Minas cheese, microbiological quality, public health, food safety, food pathogens and good manufacturing practices. With this study it was possible to identify that in all articles the evaluated parameters are in disagreement with the quality standards proposed by the current legislation, indicating that producers are not aware or are unaware of good manufacturing practices. Based on the results, it is suggested that producers of fresh Minas cheese adopt effective measures of good manufacturing practices in order to guarantee the safety of the product and the preservation of consumers' health.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44518459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The final third of pregnancy is a critical period for gilts due to stress and the consequent immunological drop. Thus, the objective was to promote the experimental inoculation of gilts with BVDV-2 and to evaluate the capacity of virus transmission to fetuses in a critical period of stress and immunosuppression. Six pregnant gilts were inoculated between the 105th and 110th day of gestation, the piglets born underwent blood collection (to obtain whole blood and serum) and an umbilical cord fragment at birth prior to colostrum ingestion, and had blood collected weekly up to 21 days of age. Samples from all placentas were also collected. Two gilts composed the control group, and their piglets underwent the same procedures. The blood, umbilical cord and placental fragments samples were submitted to RT-PCR evaluations, while the serum was evaluated by the virus neutralization test. There was no evidence of viral transplacental transmission to fetuses in the evaluated period.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5935/RBHSA.V14I2.565","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46398474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the lack of information about the uveodermatologic syndrome, the objective of this work is to carry out a systematic review on the main aspects of the disease, alerting the veterinarian about its occurrence and the importance of its early diagnosis. Despite the rare reports within the small animal clinic, it is believed that dogs of the Akita breed may be predisposed by the number of reported cases, although there are several records with other breeds in the literature. The diagnosis is usually late, due to the fact that the eye lesions appear about a month before the cutaneous lesions, and involves the clinical reasoning of the veterinarian in association with the performance of histopathological exams of the lesions, which present inflammatory histio-lymphocitic infiltrates and disorganization of basal layer. The treatment is based on immunosuppression, with corticosteroids or other similar drugs, such as azathioprine and cyclosporine, continuing from the diagnosis until the disappearance of clinical signs and maintenance at low doses or in association with other immunomodulators.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.5935/RBHSA.V14I2.573","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43525699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
