Pedal diseases are pathologies that harm the limbs of the animals, causing discomfort and can lead the animal to death in severe cases. Of multifactorial origin, in its etiology we must be attending to hygienic and humidity factors. Treatment should be done as soon as possible to avoid secondary pathologies. Helmets have the function of supporting the animal's body, aiding in locomotion and blood pumping from the extremities of the limbs to the heart. When performing the examination for evaluation of the locomotor system must be taken into consideration the animals at rest and in movement and it is possible to detect a claudication or not. There is a classification of the foot pathologies that affect dairy cows in diseases that affect the skin around the fingers and those that affect the cornea. It is fundamental to understand that the human being is in the almost complete control of everything that happens with the herd, in this way, it is in charge of those who are predisposed to deal with this condition, determine the availability of food and water, the conditions of the accommodations and the management Revista Brasileira de Higiene e Sanidade Animal Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity ISSN: 1981-2965 I","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":"123 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71161558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A faecal sample of dogs with chronic diarrhea and vomiting was received at the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of the Federal University of Pelotas, for coproparasitological analysis. The sample was analyzed through the techniques of Willis-Mollay (1921), Faust (1938) and Hoffman, Pons and Janer (1934), with no genus of gastrointestinal parasite. However, through the Faust method, structures compatible with C. guttulatus were evidenced. From the diagnosis, treatment with fluconazole 5mg / kg was instituted. After treatment, the tutor reported that there was resolution of the condition.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71161888","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Females were submitted to a dissociative anesthetic protocol consisting of ketamine (15mg/kg), acepromazine (0.03mg/kg), pethidine (3mg/kg) and midazolam (0.4mg/kg). Before abdominal muscle suturing, the local anesthetic bupivacaine at the dose of (2 mg/kg) was instilled into the intraperitoneal cavity. In the trans-operative period, the parameters of heart rate, respiratory rate, non-invasive blood pressure by vascular Doppler and rectal temperature were measured in the pre-anesthetic moments (M 0 ), after connection to the multiparameter monitor (M 1 ), at the moment of (M 2 ), end of surgery (M 3 ) and 4 hours after the end of surgery (M 4 ). It was verified that the values of systolic blood pressure increased above 150 mmHg at the moment of the ovarian pedicle clamping (M 2 ), being a sign of pain in the transsurgical and the values of the sums were obtained by the scale in (M 4 ) it was demonstrated that the procedure caused mild to moderate pain in the cats and the analgesic rescue with tramadol (4mg/kg) in 4 (four) cats was performed. It was concluded that the administration of the dissociative anesthetic together with the pre-anesthetic medication in the same syringe and at the same moment did not prevent the undesirable reactions of ketamine, the intraperitoneal administration of bupivacaine was not enough to give ideal analgesia and the evaluation of the pain allowed to evaluate and treat pain efficiently.","PeriodicalId":42229,"journal":{"name":"Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71161842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the 19 samples analysed, in 10 (52.6%) was observed thermotolerant coliforms above the established in the current legislation, all confirmative for Escherichia coli. In the 19 samples analysed (100%) were observed Staphylococcus counts higher than permitted in legislation. Regarding the BAL count, in addition to the low count observed in all samples, the method using MRS Broth was more effective. Due to its physical and chemical characteristics, meat is a favorable medium for the development of microorganisms, and the processing of this food increases the possibilities of contamination and contact surface. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the microbiological quality of ground beef marketed in butchers in the supermarkets of central Uberlândia, MG. Samples of ground beef cattle were obtained in three repetitions in the nine butcheries studied, 9.0 x103 CFU.g-1, respectively). The lowest colony count values during the three collections were establishment F, with 2.75x105 2.35x105 3.00x105 CFU.g-1 (1st, 2nd and 3rd collections respectively).
