In Brazilian dairy farming, milk is among the 6 most relevant products for the sector, being fundamental in food, job creation and family income. Pedal diseases are pathologies that harm the limbs of the animals, causing discomfort and can lead the animal to death in severe cases. Of multifactorial origin, in its etiology we must be attending to hygienic and humidity factors. Treatment should be done as soon as possible to avoid secondary pathologies. Helmets have the function of supporting the animal's body, aiding in locomotion and blood pumping from the extremities of the limbs to the heart. When performing the examination for evaluation of the locomotor system must be taken into consideration the animals at rest and in movement and it is possible to detect a claudication or not. There is a classification of the foot pathologies that affect dairy cows in diseases that affect the skin around the fingers and those that affect the cornea. It is fundamental to understand that the human being is in the almost complete control of everything that happens with the herd, in this way, it is in charge of those who are predisposed to deal with this condition, determine the availability of food and water, the conditions of the accommodations and the management Revista Brasileira de Higiene e Sanidade Animal Brazilian Journal of Hygiene and Animal Sanity ISSN: 1981-2965 I
