Abstract
Cyniclomyces guttulatus is a commensal fungus of the digestive tract of rabbits and rodents, but it has also been diagnosed in dogs, being responsible for diarrhea, and it may also be present in healthy dogs. A faecal sample of dogs with chronic diarrhea and vomiting was received at the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of the Federal University of Pelotas, for coproparasitological analysis. The sample was analyzed through the techniques of Willis-Mollay (1921), Faust (1938) and Hoffman, Pons and Janer (1934), with no genus of gastrointestinal parasite. However, through the Faust method, structures compatible with C. guttulatus were evidenced. From the diagnosis, treatment with fluconazole 5mg / kg was instituted. After treatment, the tutor reported that there was resolution of the condition.
