The processing was made by cutting with the help of an educational milling and drilling machine with numerical control called EMCO MILL 55 CNC. The commands were programmed through a computer interface, using a conventional numerical code that commands the same kinematic chains, defining specific elements such as the geometric structure of the part, the technological conditions, the structure of the CNC kinematics, the calculation of the programmable coordinates, the parameters of the cutting tools and the parameters of the cutting regime. Based on the characteristics of the polymer material, but also on the identification of programmable functions and routines, the complete development cycle of the complex part processing operations was defined using special functions dedicated to the drilling and milling processes of the profiled surfaces. The part program structure contains program blocks associated with each stage and machining tools. The purpose of the study is to highlight, at an early stage, how students and young researchers can use computer numerical control (CNC) machines, which can be used as a support for the physical processing of complex surfaces, possibly obtained by digitizing and measuring data through a digital correlation based on specialized software products (e.g. GOM Scan, GOM Inspect, FEM analysis, etc.).","PeriodicalId":42201,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Education and Information Technologies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2024-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141102991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The participants were 212 male and female teaching staff members specialized in humanities and scientific disciplines. The descriptive correlational method was adopted. There were two instruments: the big five-factor personality scale and a questionnaire for the teaching staff members’ performance of quality work. Findings revealed the participants’ lower possession of the factors of openness and extroversion than the other big factors of personality. In addition, there was a partial direct relationship between some of the big five factors of personality and the faculty teaching staff members’ performance of the quality tasks. Also, there were statistically significant differences in the big five factors of personality in favor of those with high-level performance of quality work except for the factor of openness to experience. Finally, there was a statistically significant difference in the neuroticism factor in favor of those holding position in the quality field whereas such difference was not verified in the other factors.","PeriodicalId":42201,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Education and Information Technologies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2024-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140692634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our game consists of a digital city where players navigate to complete quests. The answer to each quest changes the shape of the buildings and thus, after completing the core quests, the game world will create a unique neighborhood. In this way, we visualize the consequences of players’ actions and simulate how their answers impact our urban society and environment. As such, E-polis can be used as a tool that based on some predefined inputs (quests/questions) can evaluate and log young people’s views on the ideal society. Our serious game uses the Unity Game engine, and it can be used in various socio-economic case studies such as exploring civic engagement and social justice. Specifically, our article reviews the literature on game engines and defines how an educational serious game can gamify a learning experience. Then, we present in detail the software architecture design principles of our game and suggest a new generic middleware for digital game developers. Moreover, we expand on a new transition mechanism in Unity to re-use graphics dynamically using some pre-render real-time scene game objects. Our mechanism allows for better execution times of digital games in less resource-intensive computer systems when players transition through different scenes. The authors suggest that the technical novelty of this game lies in its middleware software entities' separation of concerns and this transition mechanism as a way to assist in game development and deployment. This is because it can provide game developers with several pre-built services and a generic scene transition mechanism, thus helping game developers to be more productive, reduce their costs, and improve the quality of their games.","PeriodicalId":42201,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Education and Information Technologies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2024-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140691000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the development of computational tools in the second half of the 20th century, there was also the development of computational methods aimed at algorithmizing engineering tasks based on FEM. This method is very effective for determining the forces and deformations of truss and frame structures under the influence of the external environment. Many processes in the automatic design system take place as if in a \"black box\", and the process of verifying the achieved results becomes the most important stage in the design activity. Without knowing the theoretical foundations of FEM, physical and mathematical modelling, verification procedures and methods, the structure design cannot be safe and reliable. In this paper, we present one of the possibilities, how a student can familiarize himself with the theoretical foundations of FEM and calculation procedures using the MathCAD software. MathCAD can be used as a vehicle to create, organize, and assemble all the pieces of the engineering calculations. MathCAD is open software for using input data from other programs.","PeriodicalId":42201,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Education and Information Technologies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2023-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139001774","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The platform was developed to enhance the existing curricula and achieve national-level educational goals and objectives. Despite a high adoption rate, current evidence suggests Madrasati was poorly implemented, owing to suboptimal benefits enjoyed by various stakeholders. The system may impact teaching behaviors, student motivation, learning, teacher training, professional behavior, classroom culture, and environment. Moreover, perceived ease of use, teacher competence, perceived usefulness, user experiences, security issues, and technology availability affect uptake. The study employed a quantitative correlational cross-sectional design and methodology, using surveys, interviews, and observations on a sample (n=100) with 25 teachers and 75 students. Analysis was completed using SPSS, including Pearson’s r, regression, and the Sobel test to assess the mediating effect, where t-values above or below +/- 1.96 (95% CI) were considered significant. The results indicate that Madrasati positively correlates with teaching and learning behavior and student motivation. However, none of the mediating hypotheses were proven. The recommendations focus on strengthening Madrasati infrastructure, training, adopting a holistic approach, and collaborating with all stakeholders.","PeriodicalId":42201,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Education and Information Technologies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136347179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The coronavirus’ enormous consequences, which affected all countries and industries, influenced around 91% of the world's students. The objective of this study is to investigate the experiences of private and public university undergraduates in a Nigerian University, to determine whether there is a significant disparity in the accessibility, affordability, and ease of use of the various e-learning platforms that were adopted during the global pandemic lockdown. The study employed the survey method in eliciting useful information from undergraduates in Covenant University, and in the University of Lagos. The population of the study consisted of 374 undergraduates from both schools. Due to the inaccessibility of students whose lecturers were on industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the questionnaire was physically distributed to students at Covenant University, while a Google form was generated for students at the University of Lagos. Data was analyzed using descriptive techniques in frequencies, percentages, and linear regression analysis. Results from the study revealed that 68.1% of students at Covenant University utilized more e-learning platforms like Moodle, Coursera, Zoom, and WebEx unlike their counterparts at the University of Lagos who used only Moodle and Zoom with 43.6%. Also, 87.5% of Covenant University undergraduates made use of their laptops mostly for their e-learning classes while 56.4% of their counterparts in the University of Lagos mostly made use of their smartphones. Findings revealed that students from public Universities faced major challenges such as unstable internet, limited financial capability in buying devices such as laptops, and lack of skill and competence in navigating the e-learning platforms while students in the private universities on the contrary had relatively stable internet connectivity, could afford laptops and smart devices and had the requisite skills to properly navigate their e-learning platforms. The study concludes by recommending the provision of substantial financing that will aid in the acquisition of relevant technology to promote and support e-learning in public universities in Nigeria. It also suggested the inclusion of public University students with adequate training on how to navigate the e-learning platforms, thereby equipping them with the requisite skills needed to maximize the benefits of e-learning. The study emphasizes how the use of e-learning can be an effective sustainable learning solution for current and future situations by the main actors, educators, and learners. In the long run, the Nigerian educational system would be better prepared to face future emergencies that may warrant the adoption of remote learning.","PeriodicalId":42201,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Education and Information Technologies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136102966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, establishing a complete and feasible evaluation system for IEE is vital for the enhancement of education level and quality. On the basis of the principles for the evaluating system, the study selected the evaluation indicators for IEE. Then, the adaptive flower pollination algorithm was used to evolve the BP’s initial weight and threshold applied to the evaluation of the IEE of college students. The improved BP network had a faster speed in the first to fifth iteration, and the mean square error converged between 10-7 and 10-6. In the comparison of fitness values, the method converged only in the 16th generation, and the fitness value was stable at about 1.95. In practical application, the error rate of this method was about 13%, and it had a high accuracy rate. Its high accuracy indicated that this method could effectively evaluate the IEE in higher education institutions, and provided certain technical support for the cultivation of innovative talents.","PeriodicalId":42201,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Education and Information Technologies","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135200023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
