The presence of disease is often correlated with the reality of sin (especially in the prophetic books), just as the absence of disease and infirmity is a true eschatological symbol of universal restoration, when no man will suffer from disease. The Holy Scripture, especially the Old Testament, describes numerous occasions when God brought plagues and sickness upon His people or upon His enemies “to make you see My power” (Exodus 9:14, 16). At the same time, the healing power of God is made manifest when the people as a whole or a particular virtuous person is in a state of illness.","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"76 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86175169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Approaching another through dialogue does not seem to care too much about the will or desire to accept the otherness for dialogue even if this is the basis of the binary formula of dialogue. Yet, in the case of religious dialogue, things are not at all so clear or proactive; instead, this (accepting otherness) is usually the central issue of interreligious dialogue. However, when we finally manage to bring together two or more religious representatives for dialogue, the most intriguing aspect of the dialogue is less emphasized on the content and issues to be brought to the attention of the participants and more on the issue of accepting, tolerating all others’ traditions through this dialogue. Nervousness, anxiety, discomfort, and squirming are the habitual and, even more shocking, \"\"expected\"\" features in interfaith dialogue. Well, if this is the main problem in interfaith - being able to bring acceptance in this \"\"toxic\"\" environment - then this would be a step forward. But probably all these are since, at present, the construction of interreligious dialogue is still in progress, about to be polished and become a formal custom, an emerging tradition of the current era. However, is the content that all participants in the interfaith dialogue bring, our particular traditions, to blame for this challenge? Can they help us build the bridge or, on the contrary, put interfaith in a limbo state, waiting for a redeemer? To pinpoint the direction in which interreligious dialogue is heading, we must better evaluate and understand a \"\"tradition\"\", what it is, how it works, and why it is developed and preserved. What is the significance of a tradition for people in general and a religious group in particular? How deeply rooted is it in human thinking and how valuable to fight for it? And then, can we consider changing, altering, or even removing a whole tradition from our perspective? If so, [regardless of the response] what is then the impact of [any] tradition on us and our reactions to the current issues, therefore to human endeavor? This article illustrates the role that tradition plays in peoples' views of the world and how tradition influences their behavior and attitudes toward certain practices and against a current acquisition of interreligious relationships, namely interreligious dialogue.\"","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80885950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That is why the ecological crisis is a serious threat not only to the health of the Earth but also to humans. Facing an ecological crisis that threatens the health of the Earth and humankind, how does Catholicism respond, especially through the Encyclical Laudato Si'? Using content analysis and interpretive methods of the texts in the Encyclical Laudato Si’, this essay concludes and suggests the importance of ecological conversion to overcoming the ecological crisis to care for the health of the Earth and its people. For this reason, it is important to change the exploitative paradigm into a paradigm that is friendly and caring for the Earth in humans themselves. This shifting paradigm must also be manifested in shared behavior through the Earth care movement and human health concerns as a realization of ecological conversion.","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"90 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85988961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The novel is an exquisite example of trauma narrative in Irish recent fiction. Almost one hundred years old and still in the mental hospital where she was committed as a young woman, Roseanne revisits the tragedies and passions of her life through her secret journal. Raised in rural Ireland in the 1930s, her life is marked by civil war and a troubled family life. When she marries Tom McNulty, she believes she has found love and security, but her dreams are shattered. Through her journal and that of the doctor in charge of her, the reader is gradually revealed how the process of trauma healing could be achieved.","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"55 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79456950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accordingly, there has been an increase in studies on the relationship between religiosity and health. However, any knowledgeable researcher finds that the results of studies are often contradictory, if not problematic. Looking for an explanation of the contradictory results obtained by researchers in the field, we found that they are largely due to methodological or perspective deficiencies. As for me, I think a lot of these difficulties come from wrong definitions and concepts. Thus, either religion is confused with spirituality, or the two are considered completely independent realities. The truth is that Religion and spirituality are two different but objective concepts and only their approach is problematic. And to the extent that we clarify this issue, I believe that we will be able to interpret the results of future studies more coherently.","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81030491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This role is played, for example, by a strong emotional motivation: when someone who strongly believes that he resists fire [or mentally ignores this factor] to save his/her child becomes unaffected by fire in an extreme situation of ambition and elimination of logical reasons for self-preservation; or someone religiously strongly motivated on thinking that he is ‘divinely sent’ to identify and eliminate opponents of divine forces, will attempt all possible steps (violence, terrorism, genocide) to stop these factors, regardless of human ‘reality’ put into play. Therefore, we initiate a series of articles focusing on the dialogue between several domains for the same purpose: What are the factors involved in altering the image of reality, how is a mentally constructed the image of reality in the stages of psychic development, what are the ‘stimuli’ that can distort that image and who can ‘manipulate’ them, but also who can be the ‘correctors’ of these image distortions.","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81027416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

I finally come full circle and consider what Indian metaphysical tradition best fits and throws light on Jesus’s affirmations “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind” and: “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself “(Matthew 22:37-39); proclamations that have fascinated me since my childhood. Perception helps us embed the information taken from sensations, helping us form the perceptive image that must be completed by each individual in their existence. Practically, perception facilitates the adaptation to reality depending on the experiences of each individual. A method that patients may learn to control their various perceptions is self-regulation by mental images, and here we can consider various approaches to the mental image. Mental imagery is important for the perception of pain, being an easy method to manage pain. Here we can also describe the pain of the ‘phantom member,’ whom certain people that have amputated members still perceive, and which consists of cortical processing of pain, without being triggered by pain receptors, because they lack it. The data described herein confirms and helps us contour the fact that the image of a sensory circumstance may influence neuronal processes which create real sensory experiences.","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"66 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83966472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These efforts have led to a variety of beliefs and approaches to healthcare, involving a variety of different paradigms. If we examine a representative sampling of these approaches, we can see radical differences in theory and practice. Perhaps inevitably, practitioners of one school of thought have disagreed—sometimes in the extreme—with each other. Scientists, and especially their cheerleaders, have often been guilty of worshiping their own limited views of “science”, an attitude that harms both science and society. Remembering the history of healthcare gives us some background against which to view the current social antipathy among groups having different opinions concerning the Covid pandemic. Greater understanding coupled with humility offers us an opportunity to end the antipathy.","PeriodicalId":42179,"journal":{"name":"Dialogo","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2022-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75362973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
