This study investigates translation techniques for recipes in “Cooking with Love ala Dapur Momychaa.” Using a qualitative approach, it explores semantic, literal, and word-for-word translation methods. The aim is to preserve the source text's meaning while ensuring understanding for readers of the translated version. The findings demonstrate successful translations, striving to maintain the original meaning while incorporating cultural nuances. Techniques like adaptation, literalism, amplification, calque, and description are employed. It aims to uncover the significance of the symbols within this cultural practice. Conducted in Tipo Village, Ulujadi District, Palu City, the study employed observation, recording, and interviews to gather evidence-based data. Nokeso is an indigenous tradition upheld by the Salena community, originating from the Kaili tribe. While traditionally associated with children entering adolescence, the research revealed that in Salena, it also involves the readiness of vati (male parents) of girls based on their social status. The nokeso ritual includes the symbolic act of tooth brushing, performed by Salena's traditional leaders using a whetstone or guma (traditional machete). Figurative language plays a significant role in communicating feelings through the songs we encounter in our daily lives. This study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach to investigate this phenomenon. Content analysis is employed as the analytical technique, aiming to identify the distinct characteristics of messages conveyed through songs and the utilization of figurative language, such as metaphors, hyperboles, similes, euphemisms, and personifications. The findings reveal that the majority of lyrics within the song “21 Guns” contain implicit and profound meanings related to the physical and psychological impacts of war, including the destruction of homes and the loss of soldiers' lives. A quantitative and 2 x 2 factorial research design involved 60 eighth-grade students. Three instruments—a personality questionnaire, observation checklist, and writing test—collected data. Both TTW and FRESH techniques positively impacted the writing abilities of extroverted and introverted students, with TTW showing stronger improvement. Individual characteristics must be considered when selecting teaching techniques. The findings provide evidence of effective writing instruction for different personality types, emphasizing the need for tailored approaches. The research methodology employed in this work is descriptive qualitative research, using a comparative approach. The article outlines the challenges involved in translating English songs into Indonesian while maintaining the melody and using limited words. The researcher used Newmark's translation theory as a framework for the translation process. The study utilized six types of translations, including word-for-word, faithful, free, semantic, idiomatic, communicative, adaptation, and literal. The most frequently used method was the word-for-word translation (53.9%), followed by faithful translation (30.7%). By conducting observations and interviews, the study found unique uses of regional slang in social media. Teenagers tend to use inaccurate language that deviates from the rules of Indonesian language and mix Indonesian language with foreign languages, such asEnglish, leading to disorganized language use. The development of digitalization has contributed to the emergence of new languages. Cultural and regional backgrounds are also influential factors that cause the shift towards using Bahasa Indonesia. While most prioritize visuals, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is popular in 2022 due to its combination of music and story, making it a phenomenal meme. Because of this phenomenon, the researcher wants to examine how music can enhance the story elements of a game. To get an answer to this phenomenon, the researcher operates Fairclough's critical discourse analysis to examine the seven-song lyrics contained in the game Metal Gear Rising into three dimensions of analysis: microstructure, mesostructure and macrostructure. The researcher found that the song's lyrics enrich the narrative elements of the MGSR series by utilizing six styles of language: symbolism, metaphor, hyperbole, rhetoric, personification, and tautology. The study aims to design Kinetic Typography-based materials for vocabulary mastery and evaluate their effectiveness in improving the English vocabulary of seventh-grade students in Tangerang, Indonesia. The findings can contribute to the development of effective language learning materials that incorporate Kinetic Typography and advance research on its role in language learning. The methodology includes observation, interview, questionnaire, and vocabulary tests, with results analyzed using descriptive statistics. Conducted on students of SMAN 1 Terara, an Indonesian high school, who are learning English as a foreign language, the study aims to examine the impact of voice translators on their motivation and interest in learning vocabulary, as well as their vocabulary acquisition. Using Classroom Action Research as the research design, 30 students from the first grade of SMAN 1 Terara were selected as participants. The results indicate that using a voice translator application can positively impact students' vocabulary acquisition and interest in learning. The study highlights the importance of understanding the effectiveness of voice translator applications to develop more effective language learning and teaching strategies. Data is collected through observation and video recording using a descriptive qualitative research approach. The study shows that Abizard's language development is typical for his age, with notable progress in phonological and morphological skills. However, his semantic skills require further development. Effective strategies for supporting language learning in early childhood are provided, such as reading to children, encouraging verbal communication, and providing a rich language environment. The study emphasizes the importance of supporting language development in early childhood and contributes to the existing knowledge on language acquisition.
