They are associated with a change of the loading of the feet. It affects the deterioration of the functional efficiency of the feet, often contributes to discomfort, pain and predisposes to the development of adverse changes in the upper body segments. The aim of the study was to assess the impact of intellectual disability in participants with aetiology other than Down’s syndrome on longitudinal arching and symmetry of lateral and medial load of the foot.\u0000Materials and methods: There were 38 participants with mild and moderate intellectual disability, with an average age of 23 years and 44 young non-disabled people with an average age of 20.8 under research. The main measurement tool used to assess the arching and loading the foot zones was the BTS P-WALK platform. The measurement included analysis in terms of statics and lasted 30s.\u0000Results: The comparison of both groups showed no significant differentiation in the medial and lateral load of the forefoot and rearfoot. Among people with ID correct arches of the feet were observed in 52.6% of participants in the right foot and 57.9% of the left foot, while in the control group in 56.9% in both the right and left foot. People with intellectual disabilities were characterized by a higher rate of flatfoot in relation to the control group. The hollow foot was more frequently observed in control group than in people with ID.\u0000Conclusions: In people with intellectual disabilities with aetiology other than Down’s syndrome, flat feet are diagnosed more often than in healthy peers who do not differ in body weight and BMI. Intellectual disability is associated with a greater loading of the medial part of the forefoot.\u0000\u0000

The research covered the participants of the subject workshops. The research was carried out by means of a diagnostic survey and a survey technique was used to obtain necessary information and data.\u0000Results: Physical education teachers willingly undertake physical activity during their free time, however, it is usually recreational activity. The teachers most eagerly practice once or twice a week. Male teachers showed greater frequency of physical activity. Practicing sports in the past is reflected in the approach to taking care of health and maintaining physical fitness later in life. The way of spending free time of the examined teachers differs depending on gender.\u0000Conclusions: Systematic participation of physical education teachers in physical activities is not satisfactory, and yet the teacher should set an example and make students aware of how to care for body and physical health.\u0000\u0000

The aim of research was to assess parents’ physical activity and their interest in physical culture of their early school children.\u0000Material and methods: The survey was carried out in the school year 2014/2015. 374 families from Mielec County, representing the rural environment, were randomly selected for the survey. Among the sent questionnaires 356 returned, however 54 of them were completed incorrectly. Eventually, 302 questionnaires were qualified for further analysis. The method of diagnostic survey was applied in the research, which takes advantage of survey as the basic technique.\u0000Results: The detailed analysis of the results showed that physical activity among the majority of mothers and fathers was at a very low level. Both education and socioeconomic status have a significant influence on the level of parents’ physical activity. The empirical research also revealed a very low level of most parents’ (68.5%) interest in physical culture of their children.\u0000Conclusions: On the basis of the research results it can be found that the participation of children in physical culture depends on their parents’ physical activity, education and socioeconomic status.\u0000\u0000

The disorder is classified as extra pyramidal system diseases. In order to improve the patient’s condition and increase the level of quality of life, pharmacological treatment and rehabilitation are used to eliminate progressive disability. The help of the surrounding environment affects not only the course of the disease, but above all the emotional well-being of the patient. Family support and its participation in the whole therapeutic process greatly optimize its results. The aim of this work is to present the most important issues regarding kinesiotherapy in Parkinson’s disease and to demonstrate the impact of the involvement of the whole family system on the course and results of therapy. Kinesiotherapy as an\u0000element of treatment plays a very important role in the process of improving and adapting the patient to perform daily nursing activities. Kinesiotherapeutic treatments have not only a significant impact on the symptoms occurring in the course of the disease, but also on the overall health. The individual selection of therapy and the involvement of the entire team of therapists is extremely important in eliminating both movement and extrinsic symptoms. The correct implementation of the physiotherapist’s recommendations, the patient’s involvement, as well as the active participation of the patient’s environment, is a condition for the effectiveness of the entire process of maintaining health and fitness. Kinesiotherapy prevents permanent disability and helps maintain the longest possible independence and good quality of life. Performing the supporting function, it maintains the correct body posture, but above all it is used while walking. Feet are vulnerable to all the changes that occur in human environment. The civilisation changes are particularly harmful to the locomotor system.\u0000Material and methods: The research was conducted in the academic year 2014/2015 among the second year Physiotherapy and Physical Education students in the University of Physical Education in Kraków. The total of 93 students took part in the research (48 females and 45 males). The average age of the subjects was 21 years. In order to assess the curvature of the foot longitudinal arch a podoscope was used, whereas the Tanita BC-418 scales were applied to define the BMI value and calculate the percentage of body fat tissue.\u0000Results: A vast majority of the subjects (70.9%) had a normal type of foot longitudinal arch. Higher longitudinal arch occurred more frequently among women than men, the normal type was less frequent. The BMI level was also within the norm among the majority of the students (79.6%). Overweight was more frequent among males than females. Both males and females with the correct BMI value in their majority had normal curvatures of both feet longitudinal arches. The highest percentage (75%) of the regular right foot longitudinal arch was recorded among females with low body fat deposition. In the case of the left foot the percentage was 68.8%. All the males with low fat deposition obtained normal values of the longitudinal arch curvature for both feet. \u0000Conclusions: The subjects most frequently had a regular curvature of foot longitudinal arch.
