It is a major cause of impairments and disability among the elderly and poses a significant economic burden on the community. Individuals with knee OA suffer progressive loss of function displaying increasing dependency in walking, stair climbing and other lower extremity task. The problem under the study was to assess the balance control of elderly with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis from selected community area at Kanyakumari district. The objectives of the study were to assess the balance control of elderly with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis, and to find out the association of balance control and selected demographic variables. The descriptive research design was adopted for this study. The population selected for the study comprised of elderly with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis from selected community area at Kanyakumari district. 60 elderly were selected by non-probability purposive sampling technique. The Berg Balance Scale was used to assess the balance control. Frequency, percentage, chi square test was used to analyse the study. The result of the study revealed that 59 (98.33%) of the elderly suffered with moderate level of balance control. The findings revealed that statistically significant association was found between age and history of doing exercise and balance control of the elderly at p=0.05. No association was found between functional ability and other demographic variables.","PeriodicalId":417882,"journal":{"name":"IDC International Journal","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115869519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The population consisted of trained midwives working in maternity unit with minimum 6 months’ experience. A quantitative research design approach was adopted. A sample size of 100 was taken in which 50 were from government and 50 from private hospitals, selected by using purposive sampling. Data were collected by using self-structured observatory checklist prepared by WHO and ICM competencies. Results revealed that among the selected 58 competencies from WHO and ICM, 10 competencies are followed in a better way by TM of government hospital as compared to TM of private hospital. Hence there is a vast difference between quality of care in both government and private hospitals. The quality of care of private hospital is much better as compared to government hospitals.","PeriodicalId":417882,"journal":{"name":"IDC International Journal","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114688513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Foreign Institutional Investments (FIIs) are the measuring scale that determines accelerated economic development for many financial systems both in developing and developed economies. FIIs have become an onus of global economic cooperation and integration. Developing countries like China, Korea etc have chronicled massive jump in economic stimulation since inducing FIIs in their economic policies. The USA is the leading developed country that is preferred by financial institutions for capital inflows but developing countries are also expanding their presence in the FII market. FIIs bring foreign capital investment to the national market and eases transfer of technological expertise, higher skills and knowledge, innovations and its corresponding tools. Indian policies to trigger foreign interests in its capital investment capacity encouraged some major players to enter the Indian capital market. Internal policies of the government like market cap, supply and demand, EPS and external determinants such as FIIs, exchange rate stabilities, global economic changes have provided the much needed impetus to let the FIIs thrive in the Indian financial market. The present paper outlines the role played by FIIs in the Indian stock market providing statistical evidence of multi regression and coefficient correlation. Nifty and Sensex are the representative face of Indian stock market and the based on the performance of Indian stock market during the 11 years between 2001-2011, it can be deduced that FII capital inflows were performing in tandem with Nifty and Sensex. With this research, we are concluding that FII inflows to India were impacting the upward trend of the Indian capital market.","PeriodicalId":417882,"journal":{"name":"IDC International Journal","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122421088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shivaji dedicated his entire life in fights against the “foreigners”. He was the man who fought for the rights of the Marathas. So he is considered probably the greatest hero in the Indian province of Maharashtra. All over India, Shivaji is recognized as a warrior legend. He is also considered as the man who gave birth to India’s nationalism. Many historians prefer to believe that Shivaji was the root of India’s self-pride and esteem. This research studies the reigning period of Shivaji. It is an applied or refinery study that tries to judge if this period can be called the golden era of Indian history or not in terms of growth of nationalism. While trying to do so this research took into account the success as well as the failures of Shivaji. Ruling period of any ruler is bound to have both success and failures. So this study was not about if there are failures in the reigning period of Shivaji or not. It explored about the heavier side i.e. whether success is heavier or failures and thus, made an attempt to reach the conclusion about if this period can be called the golden era or not regarding contributions of Shivaji towards the growth of nationalism in India.","PeriodicalId":417882,"journal":{"name":"IDC International Journal","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128870505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
