Sera recien en la segunda mitad del siglo XX cuando encontremos en el escenario montevideano a la primera mujer editora: Nancy Bacelo (1931-2007). Revisar su labor de editora y gestora cultural es tambien reconstruir el campo cultural del Montevideo de los sesenta, a la vez que nos posibilita una relectura de los vinculos y las redes intelectuales que funcionaron tanto a nivel regional como continental.","PeriodicalId":41770,"journal":{"name":"Lectora-Revista de Dones i Textualitat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2019-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82430067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study of as yet unpublished documents from her personal archive enables a renewed approach to her figure and her professional work, revealing her true dimension as a woman, writer, journalist, entrepreneur and cultural activist that far exceeds her traditional and reductionist classification as a typical mid-nineteenth-century woman writer. The clarification of important personal and professional data shows her as an independent enterprising woman who, in parallel to her literary work, assumed, throughout her life, challenges in traditionally masculine fields, new for a woman of her time.","PeriodicalId":41770,"journal":{"name":"Lectora-Revista de Dones i Textualitat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2019-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87493233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most relevant strategies was the establishment of diverse networks of support and affection among different individuals of the cultural field, traceable thanks to their epistolary relationship. This essay analyses Benhabib's approach through three main elements: the lessons of the totalitarian moment, the relationship between Europe and its \"others\" in recent history, and the potential of certain cosmopolitan elements catalyzed by the EU project. This type of analysis makes explicit a look \"from the margins\", which marks Benhabib's particular contribution to the critical theory of democracy and to its dialogue with Enlightenment universalism.","PeriodicalId":41770,"journal":{"name":"Lectora-Revista de Dones i Textualitat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41783615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With this aim, I connect the issue with Arendt's concept of the \"pariah\" and her notion of \"worldlessness\". Further, I examine the limitations and perplexities that Arendt found behind the discourse of human rights and how it implies that an effective protection of the refugee can never be ensured. This is the reason why, I conclude, the refugee tends to be represented as a kind of new and contemporary barbarian.","PeriodicalId":41770,"journal":{"name":"Lectora-Revista de Dones i Textualitat","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2018-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42449659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
