An “ad hoc” detection set-up is under realization for this goal, in order to reach an angular resolution of the two emerging trajectories from the X17 decay and an energy resolution for the invariant mass reconstruction enough to cast light in a definitive way about this puzzle. To design the present detection setup we work in close contact with the Pisa Nuclear Theory team, that has deeply studied the implication of X17 existence and extracted by the ATOMKI results its eventual nature, kinematics and general properties.","PeriodicalId":417186,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences Research","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131339801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In spite of this hypotheses the instruments of the space capsule measured increasing quantity of plasma/cosmic ray/flux. In november of 2018 the Voyger 2 confirmed the before mentioned result. So today we must accepet the fact that the number of the high energy electrically charged particles have increased in the interastellar space instead of vacuum. Such particles have been emitted by our Sun, too. The name of this ray/flow is Sun wind and its particles have arrived at our Earth. We only mentioned this example to demonstrate that at present our knowledge about the Universe is somewhat hypothetical. In spite of this fact we try to summarize our thoughts connected with the life of our Earth on the basis of retrospective data and our own calculations.","PeriodicalId":417186,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences Research","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127708465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Impulse noises that are usually experienced in digital images from sudden sharp disturbances in the signal degrade the output. This effect often referred to as the salt and pepper noise could further cause information loss, and change the colour of an RGB image. The use of filters (median and morphological) has not totally eliminated the effects. Object-based methods came in with higher filter smoothers to make it better yet, there is potential limitation because of possible negative impact of under segmentation. The errors of under-segmentation cannot be adjusted within a unit of features, which apparently affect the potential accuracy of the entire classification. Thus, this study evaluates the contribution of the contextual information to reduce the effects of noise in the data for effective mineral identification. Rule-based technique was applied for information extraction from a threshold values derived from band ratio (BR) transformation operations on ASTER data. The result indicates clay has the highest mineral density of 47% in the study area, with silicate having the least (3%), among others. This study provides a robust test for contextual cues as anticipated to be most effective and shall contribute towards reducing environmental impacts and protecting biodiversity which is one of the major aspects of sustainable development in relation to mining and mineral processing","PeriodicalId":417186,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences Research","volume":"54 16","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133323182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, climate variability and climate change are affecting these small islands, threatening many livelihoods and their fragile economies. There is limited information on the adaptation strategies and perception of climate change within key sectors of these economies, including the accommodation sector. Hence a study which examines the experiences of Antigua Island in the Caribbean and Efate Island in the South Pacific. The uniqueness of this study is that there are few published articles on this topic especially those comparing two islands. This study found that whilst all hoteliers perceived changes in precipitation, temperature and sea level only a limited number implemented few adaptation measures. We conclude that there is need for government regulation of the accommodation sector as it relates to managing the impacts of climate change, to help build resilience within the sector and wider economy.","PeriodicalId":417186,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences Research","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116658666","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A retrospective study was conducted to determine the association between Saharan dust particles along with other climatic variables and visits to the clinics for acute respiratory infections. All visits to the clinics on both islands (n=8851) over 14 years (1999-2003, 2005, 2011-2018) were compared to the dust haze observations and climatic variables using regression analysis. A negative correlation was observed between visits to clinics for acute respiratory infections (ARIs) and the presence of dust haze in the atmosphere (R2 =0.339, p=0.029). Visits for ARIs had positive correlations with wind speed (R2 =0.373, p=0.020), mean sea level pressure (R2 =0.094, p=0.286), relative humidity (R2 =0.203, p=0.106) and rainfall (R2 =0.040, p=0.493). A significant inverse relationship was found between visits and the study years (R2 =0.666, p=<0.001). Saharan dust impacts the residents of Antigua and Barbuda causing an increase in visits to clinics for ARIs with a lag or latency interval between the dust events. These findings provide good evidence which should aid governments in planning their strategic response to this serious public health issue.","PeriodicalId":417186,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences Research","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132249878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The air dried soil was digested, using wet digestion method for heavy metals and physico-chemical properties of soil such as pH, electrical conductivity, cation exchange capacity, organic carbon, organic matter and particle size were determined. The levels of the heavy metals were determined using flame atomic absorption spectrometer. Applying statistical packages, analysis of variances and correlation between heavy metals levels and soil physic-chemical properties were evaluated. The pH values of the soil samples range from 8.09 - 8.34 which shows the soils of Mojo, Meki and Ziway are moderately alkaline (8.4–7.9). The result show that pH is positively correlated with OC, CEC, Clay and Cd but negatively correlated with Cr, Cu, Zn, Pb, Mn, silt, sand and Fe.","PeriodicalId":417186,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences Research","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114292572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
