The current return to an ethical interrogation shows us that it is necessary to revisit the basics, remind us of the bases and take support on them to carry out a difficult and committed work. Revisit the values that sustain the practice and give sense in this context is today essential. In this article, I propose to reflect on three points. The first is human rights as forming an inseparable part of social work, we will see the humanist and democratic values and operative principles of the helping relationship. The second introduces the concept of person as the purpose of social work, the definition of the concept and the current guidelines towards a greater participation of users. The analysis of the social question starts from the meticulous and rigorous reading of the labor theory of value and the Critique of Political Economy written by Karl Marx. It is from this analysis that we try to justify the genesis of the profession linked to the role of the state and the bourgeoisie in the consolidation of monopoly capitalism. It starts from the analysis of Social Work as a profession inserted in the social and technical division of labor that by its own action, in the contradictory movement of the capitalist reality, defends the interests of capital and labor. Conocer y desarrollar competencias, en la etapa formativa o pre-profesional, que permitan abordar de forma optima los aspectos mas negativos del ejercicio profesional, constituye un elemento importante para la prevencion de los riesgos psicosociales y para el cuidado de trabajadores/as sociales. Partiendo de la existencia de un contexto que en ocasiones es hostil, y de una tarea profesional encomendada cargada de emociones, el adecuado manejo de las mismas por parte de los profesionales , se constituye como un factor promotor de los niveles de engagement y como un elemento preventivo para la aparicion del burnout . The results manifest problems in the exercise of the right to participation. Serrano","doi":"10.30827/TSG-GSW.V7I13.5525","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30827/TSG-GSW.V7I13.5525","url":null,"abstract":"This article aims to describe the manifestation of HIV stigma in the family context and how this could impact the life of people living with HIV (PLWH). The data derive from a larger phenomenological study addressing manifestations of stigma in the lives of PLWH when interacting with the health sector. Nine focus groups were carried out in 2011 with PLWH (N=67). Eight themes emerged from the qualitative analysis. For the purpose of this article, we focus on the categories related to family dynamics: the negotiation of disclosure and non-disclosure, fear of the HIV virus and family dynamics, and life as a couple. Socio demographic information showed that 53% were between 44 to 54 years old, 80% were single, 51% were male, 42% did not complete a high school diploma, 82% were unemployed. Also, 82% described themselves as religious persons and 41% had lived with HIV for 10 years or less. Qualitative results show stigma is still present in the family context. PLWH experience fear of disclosure, discrimination, avoid initiating families or couple relationships, experience physical and verbal abuse from relatives, and even separation from other family members. After more than 30 years of the ongoing HIV epidemic, stigma is still manifested by family members with detrimental social and medical implications for PLWH. We analyze the social emergency program, which replaced the national plan for social inclusion, and the implementation of the national integrated network for long term care. Based on the evidence of the results we reflect on these transformations in Social Work, highlighting the negative aspects and the challenges for this profession. To achieve these aims we analyzed documents, statistical data and research on this subject. Al aumento de las necesidades y problematicas sociales, se une la escasez de recursos de apoyo a individuos y familias. Ello produce un importante cambio en la filosofia y funcionamiento del sistema de servicios sociales, que de manera creciente ve marcadas sus intervenciones por el control y la sancion. El Trabajo Social, como disciplina integrada en un proceso de transformacion y adaptacion constante, se enfrenta en el contexto actual de crisis a una serie de retos que condicionan -e incluso determinan- el rol a desarrollar por los/as trabajadores sociales. En el presente estudio, abordamos el rol a desarrollar por los profesionales del Trabajo Social en la actual coyuntura de crisis. A partir de tecnicas cualitativas como la entrevista semiestructurada y la observacion participante, analizamos la percepcion de los expertos sobre dicho rol en tres contextos europeos clave: Paises nordicos (representado por Suecia y Finlandia), Centroeuropa (representado por Alemania) y Banda mediterranea (representado por Espana). A traves del analisis del discurso, identificamos atribuciones y propuestas de mejora en intervencion social.
