Gacha includes gambling elements and has caused many problems like too much charge, not available rare items and so on. In order to follow the related laws and protect users, game providers have announced the provision rate of items by Gacha in accordance with the guidelines. This paper discusses whether the notice of probability influence to the users' attitude and what intention users have for Gacha. Questionnaires about playing social games and Gacha were provided 3 times to students. From the first questionnaire’s result, it was clear that attitude for Gacha probability notice were different by charge experiences. Therefore other questionnaires results were analyzed dividing into charging and non-charging users and they were compared using structural equation modeling.","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128852499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides, based on the concept, we have developed a web service, Mutual Assistance Support System called MASS. The role of MASS is to facilitate the encounter between local community people, to provide the opportunity of resource sharing, and to solve the difficulties in daily life. The active participation of young people would be essential to make MASS more effective for vulnerable road users because young people will provide most of the resources, such as skills similar to other skill-sharing services. Therefore, in this paper, in order to examine the sustainability of MASS, we conducted an attitude survey on young people’s awareness about their resource sharing, including skills at their local community, and analyzed it with Quantification Method Type II. The analysis result unveiled a rough trend of the youth consciousness about resource sharing and the local community. Still, the analysis result also showed the limitation of Quantification Method","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128288113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traversable and non-traversable passages of the environment might change at different times. For example, it is common for some of the passages or areas in the map to be inac-cessible due to cleaning, repair works, or other reasons. On the other hand, some passages in the environment could have a high congestion of people compared to other passages. This requires a feature to alter the path of the robots to address these dynamic changes, instead of only relying on the shortest paths criterion. To this end, this paper proposes Transient Virtual Obstacles (TVO): a method to actively block desired paths by using virtual obstacles. The virtual obstacles can be placed or removed by a user anywhere in the map for programmable intervals. The robot’s plan their paths considering the virtual obstacles, thereby blocking certain paths, and planning the desired trajectories through specific paths. Another major advantage of the proposed TVO algorithm is that the existing robot path planner does not needs to be modified. The proposed TVO is tested in both simulation and real environments and results are discussed highlighting the merits of safe mobile robot navigation.","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121846802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent studies have revealed the existence of non-technical business professionals who want to improve their participation in technical discussions and identified their needs for learning technologies effectively using real programming tools. The proposed teaching method utilizes the story aligned with the history of AI, visual feedback, and agile practices to overcome the challenges the non-technical adults face. In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed teaching method by the open coding method and by the paired t-test over the responses to the questions based on the expectancy-value theory before and after the lecture. We found that this teaching method effectively supported the learners to understand the core technical concepts of AI using authentic tools within a day. We also confirmed that the non-technical adult learners had significantly changed their attitude from initially negative to positive in terms of expected success and value in understanding AI, which is one of the essential outcomes for the learners as they predict the learner’s performance on understanding AI in the future.","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133557245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This IoT system consists of wiki pages, bots, (defined as remotely controlled devices), and remotely reconfigurable WSN Nodes. Each bot can be used as the gateway of the WSN if the bot was connected with it. The bots/gateways and WSN nodes of the IoT system are controlled by scripts written on wiki pages that are read by the bot/gateways, which then forward the commands contained in the scripts to the WSN nodes. Each WSN node then executes the commands, obtains the resulting sensor values, and then returns those values to the bot/gateways. The bot/gateways relay the values and write them onto the wiki page. Each bot and WSN node is flexible and reconfigurable because its behavior can be changed by the script commands written onto the wiki page. Using this IoT system, we created a measurement system to evaluate activity levels of group work in a classroom. After developing the measurement system, we found it was possible to adjust the sampling rate for obtaining sensor values simply by rewriting the script on the wiki page without directly manipulating the WSN.","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"164 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121700054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a characteristic of SNS, every user can share or diffuse information in real time by casual message postings. There are more than several hundred kinds of SNS, and the popularity is clear. Facebook has the largest number of the users in the world, and its monthly active users (MAU) are more than 20 billion. SNS is the latest medium and is also a convenient tool for information transmission judging from information-gathering history, however SNS has an aspect specialized in the self-expression seeking something \"Instagrammable\". This is because SNS works as a haven for people’s approval desire and the self-expression, and that user property trim SNS’s convenience mainly. The unnecessary informational noise is inevitable in information-intensive society by all means, and the making SNS more helpful as the intelligence tool that can automatically filter the noise is needed. However, the definition of what is the approval seeking expression is vague and whether it is necessary or unnecessary is up to each user. From the different point of view, it is also a fact that there is overflow of information which looks useless and nothing but self-expression, and there are no needs for. In this paper, we focus on the approval seeking posts that are often seen on SNSs and demonstrate the mechanism and examples.","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114992549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are two choices of HPC cluster systems: academic HPC cluster systems and public cloud services. Academic HPC cluster systems can be used with reasonable usage fees, although they take a long time until the cluster system is ready to use, because of its user registration procedure. On the other hand, public cloud services, such as Amazon Web Services, can be used immediately, but the utilization fees are expensive compared with those for academic systems. To fill the gaps between them, we propose an academic HPC cluster system with automated user registration that allows users to utilize the HPC cluster on demand.","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"326 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122331371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the automated extraction of gastric area in the X-ray images has a core role as a pre-processing method in the diagnosis, the extraction had been avoided in all the existing systems for diagnosing gastric abnormality because the contour of gastric area is not always clear and other objects often overlap with the contour in the X-ray images. Hence, in this paper, an extraction of only the essential region for the diagnosis is investigated. First, two objects of the barium-pool and the spinal column are extracted. Second, with the clue of these objects and difference of density distributions between the gastric area and its outer area, the essential region is extracted by detecting the contour of gastric area. Experimental results for the proposed method using 117 gastric X-ray images have shown that the proposed method correctly extracted the essential region from 95 images.","PeriodicalId":416504,"journal":{"name":"Information Engineering Express","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133031502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
