With the emergence of smart grid concept, it will be necessary to extend state estimation function to distribution level to ensure the efficient integration of distributed energy resources. Reducing program response time is one of the on-going challenges that electrical researchers are facing to circumvent computational burden, especially since the DC approximation and fast decoupled formulation are no more viable in distribution systems. This paper evaluates the possibilities offered by two variants of the basic Weighted Least Squares Algorithm to reduce computation time.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121543584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, current collaborative learning puts a heavy emphasis on group discussion, but provides inadequate support for individual learners to promote teamwork during the whole learning process. The aim of this paper is to propose an intelligent LMS able to improve student's collaboration practices in higher education. The system provides teachers information about the levels of collaboration and productivity of each student and group; and as a result, teachers exploit data provided to promote collaborative learning, avoid students' isolation and motivate them to use collaboration tools. The intelligent LMS called \"smart-Cloud Collaborative LMS\" integrates a Multi-Agents System (MAS) responsible to the tracking of collaboration and productivity levels of each student and group. On the other hand, in order to optimize the large-scale resource management, the proposed smart-Cloud Collaborative LMS is based on a cloud computing architecture.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121618978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, tram priority can impact the movement of emergency vehicles (ambulances, police cars, fire engines, etc) which required quick response to save lives and properties. Therefore, to organize the traffic road, it is necessary to make the urban road network more efficient by considering both tram and emergency vehicles priority. In this paper we propose a new approach, a system that can adapt efficiently with a priority signal control. Thereof, we have used Transit Signal Priority (TSP) techniques to adjust signal phasing in order to serve emergency vehicles and manage the tram priority in a coordinated tram intersection. The system used in this study provides acyclic signal operation based on a real time control approach including: - An optimization process using passing vehicle search algorithm (PVS) to control the flow through the network. - A database to manage the sensor data from detectors for real time predictions of emergency vehicle and tram arrival time. - A traffic road simulation module to evaluate best timing plans at the intersection.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120933163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A significant change in data driven cities in recent years is that much more data are collected from a variety of sources and can be processed into various forms for different stakeholders. The availability of a large amount of data can potentially lead to a revolution in city development, changing the city operation system from a conventional technology-driven system into a more powerful multifunctional data-driven intelligent system. But with more data collected the more questions raised about the optimization and space saving methods, then the quality of data collected and the efficiency of the its treatment. WSN are deployed for many applications like environment monitoring and health monitoring. In order to reduce the energy consumption and increase the WSN life, adapted network protocols like routing and data aggregation are used. The scheduling of the communications also allow better management of active/idle status and hence optimize the energy consumption. Classical data compression and decompression algorithms are not adapted to WSN as requiring high memory and computation resources. Compressed sensing is an emerging method with practical results in fields like medical imaging. The adoption of compressed sensing in WSN is attracting many research efforts [1234]. Ensuring data security is a key challenge for sensitive applications like health and military. We have used Homomorphic encryption to protect data confidentiality with low energy consumption.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130685114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study is to promote the use of health mapping by focusing on the added value of this tool in the study of the spatial and temporal distribution of the incidence of parasitic disease including leishmaniasis, and to determine the relationship between this epidemic and altitude and draw up a health risk map for this plague in the prefecture of Meknes in central Morocco. To do this we have created a database containing the geographical parameters (the communes of the city), environmental (altitude), and sanitary (level of risk of leishmaniasis) through a field study on the cases of leishmaniasis declared at the level of the municipalities of the city of Meknes and using Qgis 2.18 software which is an open source software. We subsequently exploited the database created for thematic analyzes and the creation of thematic maps with a focus on causal links connecting the geographical and environmental factors, This study shows that spatial representation and spatial analysis of impacts is an important tool in identifying risk locations. This spatial representation known as the risk map is essential in the careful identification of high-risk municipalities. Indeed, a risk map is a geographical profile of the incidence that indicates the areas where it is concentrated.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"126 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133440731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
