Indeed, much of our knowledge of urban sustainability has been gleaned from studies that are characterized by data scarcity. Therefore, this paper endeavors to develop a systematic framework for urban sustainability analytics based on a cross-industry standard process for data mining. The intention is to enable well-informed decision-making and enhanced insights in relation to diverse urban domains. We argue that there is tremendous potential to transform and advance the knowledge of smart sustainable cities through the creation of a big data deluge that seeks to provide much more sophisticated, wider-scale, finer-grained, real-time understanding, and control of various aspects of urbanity in the undoubtedly upcoming Exabyte Age.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134046704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to better adapt its use, technical studies, experimental studies and simulations are carried out in all research centers around the world in order to define its field of application. Our study falls within this framework. It is concerned with the study of the mechanical characteristics of recycled aggregate concrete essentially the compression test for various percentages of replacement. The purpose of this study is to confirm the results of studies by other researchers and to find techniques that will maximize the replacement of natural aggregates with recycled aggregates. The concrete chosen for these tests is an old building in the region of Rabat, Morocco which has been built more than 40 years and demolished in the year of 2017. The tests carried out showed a decrease in the compressive resistance noted when the replacement rates exceed 50% rate. The first improvement methods were put in place and being tested: the partial replacement of cement with pozzolan (20% rate) known by his improving of the compressive strength for ordinary concrete, the partial replacement of the large proportion [12.5-31.5] only in recycled concrete and work with natural gravels. Other improvements will be proposed as the studies progress.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"168 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132670690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This transformation is repeatedly reused by cities around the world. The complexity of the multi-disciplinary domain of smart cities renders this transformation is very hard. Unless, it is done with the help of experts in the domain. To facilitate this transformational process, this paper relies on the definition of design process of smart cities strategies and on the use of ontologies as a proven formalism to represent knowledge and expertise from experts, more specifically well-designed Ontology Design Patterns (ODP). The use of ODPs seems to be a promising solution that drives the process of cities transformation. The definition of the design process and of the Ontology Design Patterns is guided by a literature review on smart cities strategies. A web-based platform is then used to provide a common space for stakeholders to communicate and propose transformational strategies based on ODPs. The proposed solution is then validated by a use case related to educational domain in the city of Sousse, Tunisia.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133289066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The range of stakeholders is huge, public and private, from global to local companies, supported by national, regional and again local authorities. This different nature in stakeholders and the several schemes for water governance are the principal reasons for current market fragmentation in water management solutions [1]. In This poster, we describe the different mutilations that a drinking water supply project, in a Moroccan rural area, undergoes before studies until its operation. This study highlights several constraints that each project is subject. Those constraints could be technical, regulatory, financial, economic and social. If we go beyond these constraints we can develop a smart model","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115399979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, various sensors are generally embedded in vehicles to alert the driver in case of danger present on the road. Unfortunately, the performance of such systems degrades in the presence of adverse weather conditions. In addition, eliminating the fog of a single image captured by a camera is a very difficult and ill-posed phenomenon in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Recent developments in the field of deep learning have allowed researchers to build relevant models using various tools available. We propose in this paper a new architecture based on fast R-CNN for the detection of objects in fogged images, and a convolutional neuron network (CNN) is designed on the basis of a reformulated model of atmospheric diffusion for fog elimination to restore the sharp image.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121098717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Until now, no survey has been conducted in Morocco to evaluate the most common causes of waste occurrence. In this work, 25 causes of wastes were identified from previous research and, then, reinforced through semi-structured interviews with Moroccan construction experts. Thereafter, a questionnaire survey was employed to assess the significant causes of wastes based on the perception of Moroccan construction practitioners. The findings of this study revealed that the five most recurrent wastes' causes are 1- late payment, 2- lack of training for employees, 3- lack of waste management strategy, 4- inefficient planning and scheduling, and 5- lack of collective planning.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125546237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An intelligent solution that aims to facilitate the daily life. Its ecosystem based on the use of specific network protocols that facilitate the operation of transporting. Reliable transfer and the energy consumption characterize these protocols. Several platforms developed designed for IoT, whose main purpose is to monitor the different uses of the sensors and send collected data to the cloud, according to the network protocols, to ensure the management as well as the quantity of energy consumed. One of the major challenges of IoT is the management of information heterogeneity, and its ability to exist in a complex ubiquitous and distributed system. With this in mind, we present a solution: The integration of the Multi Agent System (MAS) within IoT, by using a new Sigfox shield. This Shield is composed of the Sigfox and the Arduino. This contribution talk about the creation and management of IoT_Agent, setting up the constraints of communication, interactions and the interconnection between objects. To do this, we find that the Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol performs well in terms of energy optimization during communications and interactions between IoT_agent. This approach proposes a dynamic management of the bridges, which solves the interconnection problems of the embedded systems in the different networks with an efficiency.","PeriodicalId":416459,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Smart City Applications","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126905557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
