The study was conducted to determine the utilization and equivalence of the DTI PCPS project Batch 4to the academic performance of the recipient schools of Zamboanga del Sur. It employed the descriptive design. A validated research survey questionnaire was used. Descriptive statistics such as frequency count, percentages, and weighted mean were used. The results revealed that both teachers and students “rarely” used Microsoft Office applications, educational games, and Internet applications. In terms of ICT knowledge level, both teachers and students manifested “advanced” in the PC basics, MS Word, and Internet applications and “intermediate” in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. The academic performance of the recipient schools, as manifested in the MPS, revealed that there was an increase within the three school years of implementation (2010-2013). The study concludes that utilization of the computers granted from the DTI PCPS Batch 4 project facilitates learning positively. The computers granted were inadequate, and computer education was integrated with the curriculum. Hence, the study theorizes that academic performance of students at the secondary levels can be optimized by integrating ICT into the curriculum. This study investigates the emerging themes of researches on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education in Asia for the last five years (2008-2012). Data were gathered from the different international research journals and conferences. Descriptive method was used in the study with the randomly selected 75 researches per year across the 24 Asian countries. Three emerging themes were revealed in the study, namely: curriculum, assessment and pedagogy. Results showed that the prevailing theme for the last five years was pedagogy and that most research outputs were from Asian countries with a developing economic status. It was found out that collaborative researches were done within countries, Asian region and other regions throughout the world. ICT Education research had the theme which confirmed the distinct desires of the country to access quality education. Furthermore, the United Nations (2005) revealed the potential of ICT to expand access to quality education, to boost literacy, and to provide universal education in developing countries. Six hundred first year students of Negros Oriental State University, Bais Campuses 1 and 2 were assessed using a structured survey questionnaire to determine their english language needs in the four macro skills such as speaking, reading, listening, and writing as applied to their academic studies, future profession and social/private life. Eight teachers were considered in the study. Percentages and weighted means were utilized in data analysis. Findings revealed that most students identified reading as “most needed” in their academic studies while speaking was “most needed” in their future profession. All the other skills were considered only as “needed.” On the other hand, teachers considered all the four macro skills as “most needed” in all the three areas. It was only in reading that both teachers and students gave similar rating of “most needed” in academic studies. Thus, there exists disparity in the way learners and teachers view the importance of learning the language. To address this issue, there is a need to redesign existing syllabus by integrating learning tasks that address the students’ needs. This study determined the level of awareness of the students on climate change, its impacts and their mitigation practices, making use of a descriptive research design with open and closed-ended statements administered to 500 randomly chosen College of Teacher Education students of CSU during the S.Y. 2012-2013. Data elicited from the questionnaire were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, and weighted means. The respondents have a low level of climate change awareness, and reported impacts include changes in rainfall patterns in the locality, excessive heat and lower incidence of strong typhoons during the past few years. Proper waste disposal, tree planting, inclusion of climate change topics in the school subjects and wider researches along adaptation practices are among the popular mitigation practices identified. This study concludes that the impacts of climate change are not always negative. The change has led the people to adopt new technologies, crops and livestock that gave them even a higher income. However, many problems occur in Chinese as Second Language (CSL) teaching activity at virtual classroom compared with traditional classroom. For example, it is hard to notice whether a student is present at the classroom or not or it is difficult for students to clearly observe in what exact sequence a Chinese character is written. Through comparison of the CSL learning cases between online classroom and traditional classroom, we intend to identify the web-based teaching and learning problems in teaching Chinese characters from the perspective of pedagogy, and propose a possible solution to the problem. With a case study of teaching the Chinese characters at virtual classroom and a comparative study among online courses, virtual classroom and campus classroom education, we present an initial data analysis of an IT-based method tackling the problems with the proposed solutions. This study was conducted to look into the need to integrate Ilokano or the local language in the mass communication curriculum of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP). It determined the Ilokano proficiency required by the local media, the Ilokano proficiency of the mass communication students, and whether Ilokano should be offered as a subject in UNP. This is a descriptive survey using questionnaires in gathering the data. Frequency counts, percentages and means were used to interpret the data. This study found out that most of the local media use Ilokano in 81-100% of their programs/publications and that they require personnel with very high Ilokano proficiency specifically in listening, reading, speaking and writing. The students assessed themselves as being highly proficient in Ilokano but average in writing. In particular, their facility in using Ilokano is only average along vocabulary, spelling, grammar, essay and longer composition. Further, students need to develop their facility in using Ilokano for skills needed in the media, such as interviewing, news casting, giving commentaries, program hosting, newswriting, writing advertisements and public service announcements. The project was implemented from 2008-2013. The chief purpose of this study is to assess the extent of assistance provided by Isabela State University to the recipients of iSchools Project in Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Viscaya, Cagayan, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Kalinga and Apayao. The questionnaire was constructed based on the Log Frame Analysis of the iSchools Project and Benefits Monitoring Form iSchools Monitoring and Evaluation Survey Administration Guideline of CICT. Findings revealed that satisfaction on State Universities and Colleges (SUC) assistance was mainly due to the good services of the handling SUC such as immediate response in providing technical assistance and providing information of upcoming activities and trainings of the teachers. Results also showed that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) application in teaching had a positive effect on student learning; however, teachers’ skills became a hindrance in providing learning to students. The study focused on the level of program implementation of the Physical Plant Division in terms of infrastructure development as perceived by the different groups of stakeholders and how it affects the delivery of quality education in relation to instruction, research and extension. The study used the descriptive method conducted at Mindanao State University, Marawi City, Philippines, comprising 559 administrators, faculty, staff and students. The data were analysed and interpreted through weighted means, multiple linear regression analysis and F-test. The study found out that quality education in its trilogy function: instruction, research and extension, declined through the years as perceived by the respondents and supported by records. Perception level on program implementation of the Physical Plant Division differed, and found to be moderately effective due to lack of administrative support, continuous decline in budget allocation, and low political will to implement the desired programs. However, students have different abilities in performing complex motor skills and usually result in injuries if the execution is incorrect. Feedback is given to improve one’s performance. This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of verbal feedback and video feedback in the performance of grab start diving skill. Specifically, it determined if verbal with video feedback is more effective than verbal feedback only in improving motor skill. Forty male students enrolled in swimming class were divided into two groups. After the first performance of two groups, group A was given verbal feedback to improve performance while group B viewed their own video clips and discussions were done. The results concurred that verbal feedback is an effective tool which contributes to the improvement of students’ motor skills. However, it is much effective if verbal feedback is combined with video feedback. Using an appropriate technology in aid of teaching motor skills, the students are prohibited in injuries, able to cope with mistakes efficiently in performing motor skills, and teachers manage to use time efficiently in introducing new motor learning.
