The author points out that Multimorbid people are at significant risk of falls. These results require prioritization of falls as a public health problem with the need to integrate falls into existing geriatric healthcare programs. The combination of multimorbidity and proximal fracture leads to an increase in mortality, which strongly indicates the need for more comprehensive approaches to high-risk patients. Accordingly, there is a need for future research on the care of high-risk patients after a fracture and the study of the relationship between multimorbid clusters and other signaling events in the field of healthcare.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87910846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is included in metabolic disorders. It is a major component in causation of atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease and cerebrovascular disease. There is a 1-2 percent rise in the incidence of Coronary Heart Disease for every 1% increase in cholesterol level. As per Ayurveda, it can be considered as a Medadhatu Dushti that is “Medoroga”. Acharya Charaka described drugs having deepana, pachana, medohar, lekhana and strotoshodhaka properties for management of Medoroga. Kutaki (Picrorhiza kurroa Royle ex. Benth) can be used in such conditions due to its lekhana and medohar properties.Various animal research studies conducted on Kutaki proved its antihyperlipidemic and hepatoprotective property. Hence in this case series three patients of dyslipidemia were treated with single dravya Kutaki in tablet form. Case Report-All the three female patients, aged between 40 to 50 years, were treated with Kutaki tablet (500mg) two times a day in the morning and evening (8am-8pm) empty stomach with water for 60 days. After completion of treatment, assessment was done by comparing Serum lipid profile value as with baseline after completion of treatment. Observations and Result -All the three patients showed improvement in lipid values. There was no change in weight or BMI was noted. Conclusion-Hence, it can be concluded that Kutaki is safe and effective in dyslipidemia for normalization of lipid in the blood due to its lekhana, Kapha Medohara (alleviation of vitiated Kapha and Meda) properties.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"138 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86276103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In numerous animal models, scientific validation for the use of most of these botanical parts and species in the management and treatment of prenatal and postnatal complications has been reported. As a result of its bioactivity, biocompatibility, osteoconductivity, structural and chemical similarity to bone and teeth, host tissue bonding ability, and absence of inflammatory characteristic, it has the capacity to regenerate tissue. Our study aimed to identify the wound healing property of Tridax procumbens in Clinical models. In this study we have identified the various phytochemical activities such as cytotoxic effect, anti inflammatory, anti microbial, free radical scavenging and wound healing activity of tridax procumbens. It was found that Tridax procumbens accelerated the healing process by enhancing the epithelial regeneration of wounds. The potent activity of the herbal formulation can be attributed to the phyto-constituents present in the formulation enhance the wound healing effect. Materials And Methods: The study includes 46 cases of myeloma diagnosed over the period of five years. The histomorphological features like plasma cell morphology, percentage of plasma cells and pattern of infiltration were studied. Immunohistochemistry for kappa and lambda light chains was done. Angiogenesis was assessed by calculating the microvessel density (MVD) using anti CD34 immunohistochemistry. Proliferation was assessed immunohistochemically using Ki67 by comparing with anti CD38 which was used to highlight the plasma cells. Results: The cases with kappa light chain restriction had significantly less of poorly differentiated morphology (7.4% vs 36.8%; p=0.02) and diffuse pattern of infiltration (22% vs 63%; p=0.01) compared to lambda. The kappa group also had lower MVD (9.9 vs 16.5; p=0.02) and proliferation index (4.7 vs 94; p=0.04) compared to the lambda. Conclusion: Therefore, the type of light chain restriction is also a prognostic factor in plasma cell myeloma.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"148 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79205333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To gather indications for the use of methylphenidate is objective of the study for the treatment of CRF, as well as to analyse the efficiency and safety of methylphenidate for the treatment of CRF so that we can tailor methylphenidate treatment to response patient only. Methods: To conduct the review of RCTs Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) statement was ideally chosen for Reporting Items. From inception through the first week of October 2021, A systematic search of the electronic databases PubMed, Embase, PSYCHInfo, and the Cochrane Library was done without any language restrictions. This helped to find all RCTs about the use of methylphenidate in patients with CRF. Search terms used were: methylphenidate, dexmethylphenidate, Ritalin, cancer, tumor, carcinoma, neoplasm, fatigue, asthenia, tiredness, CRF, and RCT. We also looked over a few journals' references to find more theoretically related papers. Results: A total of 267 citations were screened; among them, after a preliminary review 231 were excluded. 36 full-text articles assessed for eligibility; among them, 10 articles were met the inclusion criteria where all the selected articles were of good quality. Among 10 studies, 5 were identified in mixed tumor, 2 in prostate cancer, 1 in GI cancer, 1 in advanced cancer and 1 in Gynaecologic cancer. The characteristics of the studies changed broadly in terms of the treatment term and the population studied. Conclusion: To summarize up this study, cancer-related weakness could be critical clinical issue for cancer patients. Our findings suggest that methylphenidate may be useful in the treatment of CRF, but the evidence is inconclusive and has to be confirmed in a bigger study. All of the investigations, however, had tiny sample sizes. This counsel must be respected as provisional and temporary within the absence of considerable information from a single, expansive, well conducted randomized controlled trial. To support and propose new research topics and interventions, more study into biological factors affecting weariness is required.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"86 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80719023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this study was to investigate on morphological characteristics, chlorophyll content of leaves, leaf chlorophyll, essential oil, and its chemical compounds to examine the possibility of isolating its incipient chemical compounds commercially in wild Salvia macilenta Boiss. Methods: Leaf samples of ten randomly selected Salvia plants were collected from two diversified wadi habitats. Edaphic features of the sites were recorded and their chemical contents, determined. Morphological characters were measured and chlorophyll contents, recorded. The essential oil (EO) was extracted and analyzed for chemical compounds. The data were statistically analyzed. Results: Al-Khoud plants had higher expressivity in all the morphological characters and chlorophyll contents than those of Halban. The EO yields of Salvia macilenta were 0.06 % (v/w) and 0.088 % (v/w) for the plant samples of Al-Khoud and Halban, respectively. The values of commonly occurring chemical contents of plants of two sites were found statistically similar (p<0.05). The top ten chemical compounds of plants contributed over 75% of the total and were common with seven chemical compounds. Of the ten top chemical compounds, alpha-Pinene, beta- Eudesmol, and Nerolidol contributed the highest in the same range from 61.13% (Al-Khoud) to 62.95% (Halban). These three compounds have the potential for use in both the pharmaceutical and perfumery industries. Different parts of E. hirta are used in traditional medicine for the treatment of a variety of human and animal conditions, such as skin diseases, inflammation, digestive and respiratory disorders. This bibliometric study aimed to provide a panoramic view of the publication landscape in the last thirty years of Euphorbia hirta research. VOSviewer was used to analyze 603 documents retrieved from Scopus database during the period, 1992 to 2021. Dominant research themes in the last thirty years were centred on the application of crude extracts or isolated compounds from E. hirta against diabetes, oxidative stress, inflammation, tuberculosis, snake bite, gastro-intestinal disorders, respiratory infections, skin pathologies, bacterial, fungal and viral infections. Current paradigm shift in E. hirta research are targeted at improving the efficacy of phytomolecules against resistant bacterial pathogens and cancer cells via green synthesis of nanoparticles and the application of in silico technologies in predicting the activities of nano-phytomolecules against SARS-CoV-2 and the dengue virus. This study recommends further research in the determination of the bioavailability of molecules in in vivo models. Researchers should carry out more preclinical investigations with the aim of establishing the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of phytocompounds instead of relying solely on in silico predictions.","PeriodicalId":41505,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Complementary Medicine Research","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84820115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
