However, the mangrove forest cover was 0.2% which is much less than other existing forest types. The objective of the study was to conduct a review of mangrove forest resources and their associated benefits to coastal communities through conservation and restoration in Sri Lanka. This study reviewed secondary data such as peer-reviewed published research papers and reports for this study. The present extent of mangrove forest cover is increased to 16,000 ha between 2015 and 2016. Notably, the Puttalam district has the highest extent of mangrove forest. 10% of mangroves are cleared for prawn farming in the Chilaw and Kalpitiya. Mangrove forests provide vegetables, fuelwood, timber, and seafood to local communities to accomplish their subsistence and commercial uses. The restoration project has been initiated by the Sri Lankan government with the partnership of non-profit organizations and Seacology. Rhizophoraand Avicinnia was the main species used for replanting. Community-based restoration and conservation approaches are widely considered and implemented for replanting mangroves. This study recommends that future researches need to be focused more on the mangrove forest in each province, and their values to empower the livelihood, and more in-depth scientific studies regarding the effective mangrove restoration, conservation, and quantification of mangrove forests carbon stocks through REDD+ scheme to obtain incentives to improve the living standards of the mangrove-dependent community.","PeriodicalId":414891,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Science and Applied Technology","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127829788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Depending on the constrains and the accuracy of a model, the connected equations may be more or less complicated. For simple models we may use Non Homogeneous Equations but in general, we have to deal with Homogeneous ones since from a physicists point of view nature seems to be Homogeneous. In many applications of sciences, for solving many of them, often appear equations of type nth order Linear differential equations, where the number of them is Euler-Cauchy differential equations. i.e. Euler-Cauchy differential equations often appear in analysis of computer algorithms, notably in analysis of quick sort and search trees; a number of physics and engineering applications. In this paper, the researcher aims to present the solutions of a homogeneous Euler-Cauchy differential equation from the roots of the characteristics equation related with this differential equation using MATLAB. It is hoped that this work can contribute to minimize the lag in teaching and learning of this important Ordinary Differential Equation.","PeriodicalId":414891,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Science and Applied Technology","volume":"430 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123051136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some key sectors of the African economy are already experiencing a slowdown because of the pandemic. Tourism, air transport, and the oil sector are visibly impacted. The exogenous effects come from direct trade links between affected partner continents such as Asia, Europe and the United States; tourism; the decline in remittances from African Diaspora; Foreign Direct Investment and Official Development Assistance; illicit financing flows and domestic financial market tightening, etc. The endogenous effects occur because of the rapid spread of the virus in many African countries. On one hand, they are linked to morbidity and mortality. On the other hand, they lead to a disruption of economic activities. This may cause, a decrease in domestic demand in tax revenue due to the loss of oil and commodity prices coupled with an increase in public expenditure to safeguard human health and support economic activities. This study aims to evaluate the potential impact of the pandemic on various dimensions of African economies, the impact on the African economy is presented, with a discussion of some of the key measures being taken by African Union to mitigate the negative effects.","PeriodicalId":414891,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Science and Applied Technology","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126955786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The majority of research studies done in this area indicate that students prefer printed notes to e-notes. This study seeks to investigate if the same trends hold true for the selected group of students, who transitioned from the regular printed notes to e-notes prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. A questionnaire was developed to gather students’ perceptions on e-learning material, specifically e-notes, and its impact on their learning experience. The population included students within the Computer Science and Information Systems and Technology faculties of the selected institution. The quantitative research method was adopted and data was analysed using SPSS. The areas of effort expectancy, performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and self-efficacy associated with e-note usage were investigated. The findings indicate that some of the positive trends observed in the literature review hold true for this group of students and that the use and implementation of e-notes primarily have a positive impact on these students.","PeriodicalId":414891,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Science and Applied Technology","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128593662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ICT supported learning is best facilitating learners’ needs. With some pros there are some cons as well which are affiliated with e-learning. This study is analyzing the opinions of respondents towards e-learning and electronic literature reading. To analyze the response authors employed Apriori algorithm of association rule mining approach. The support and confidence values or the analysis were kept high (≥85) to achieve good quality of association among such factors. Study finds stress generated while adopting e-learning and e-reading has higher association with content availability in web resources. This very inferable that the wide content range results more surfing and searching and resulting stress. Study also found that the distractions caused by resource divergence are strongly associated with stress and problems faced in eyes. The study is giving significant contribution towards policy making and analysis of factors that affects the learners’ choices and problems the most.","PeriodicalId":414891,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Science and Applied Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131184317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A critical study of various process parameters affecting the anaerobic digestion has been analyzed. During the anaerobic digestion of MSW it has been seen that the retention time of the process increases as compared to other waste such as fruits and vegetable waste, cow dung, agricultural residues etc. With the use of suitable bio-methanization technology the twin objectives (a) waste reduction and (b) the environmental problems can be achieved. The present work will help all academicians, rural and urban energy industry people in generating eco-friendly energy and maintaining environment too. In this study the biodegradability of the MSW organic fraction has been tested and in particular a comparison between the production of biogas from landfills and organic wastes in anaerobic conditions has been performed. Two stage digestion of this kind of wastes were proved a better efficiency than single stage digestion.","PeriodicalId":414891,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Science and Applied Technology","volume":"37 11","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113936896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
