When the collapse or sinking accident occurs, quick rescue can be realized based on the location of the workers. However, it is not easy to support a precise real-time monitoring system due to limited infrastructure and constraints of using sensors. In this manuscript, we propose a method of building a precise positioning system in workplace using only WLAN. The method includes a similarity measure to handle highly fluctuating signal strength and a hybrid positioning technique of fingerprinting and proximity. When we test the proposed method by applying it to a limestone mine and a drillship, it demonstrated it can be used practically in the workspace by showing superior positioning accuracy than the conventional methods in a restricted environment.","PeriodicalId":414782,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Vision, Image and Signal Processing","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121142130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inevitably, images captured by the mobile camera tend to emerge severe motion blur and this degradation will deteriorate the performance of current state-of-the-art super-resolution methods. In this paper, we propose a deep dual-branch convolution neural network (CNN) to generate a clear high-resolution image from a single natural image with severe blurs. Compared to off-the-shelf methods, our method, called DB-SRN, can remove the complex non-uniform motion blurs and restore useful texture details simultaneously. By sharing the features from modified residual blocks (ResBlocks), the dual-branch design can promote the performances of both tasks other while retaining network simplicity. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method produces remarkable deblurred and super-resolved images in terms of quality and quantity with high computational efficiency.","PeriodicalId":414782,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Vision, Image and Signal Processing","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116781520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because the NRSfM is ill-posed, a variety of priors, such as the low-rank shape basis, isometric constraints and the low-rank representation, have been employed to make the problem solvable. However, when multiple non-rigid objects are taken into account, the problem becomes more challenging. In such a difficult case, modelling the point trajectories as a union of linear spatial and temporal subspaces via low-rank representation techniques is an effective attempt. Nevertheless, the linear low-rank representation technique is not good at modelling the heavily non-linear variation of the data in both spatial and temporal. In NRSfM, it stands for more complex deformation and shape configuration. In this paper, we propose an approach to solve this problem. Relying on the kernelized low-rank representation technique, we model the point trajectories as a union of nonlinear subspaces and formulate the reconstruction as an optimization problem which can be solved by alternating direction multiplier method (ADMM). Benefitting from the union of nonlinear subspaces model, our method produces the more accurate reconstructions against the state-of-the-art methods on several sequences from CMU MoCap datasets.","PeriodicalId":414782,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Vision, Image and Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129438026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially, Wi-Fi fingerprint-based positioning methods using signal specificity are used in various indoor location services because they provide a relatively high indoor location recognition accuracy. Although Wi-Fi-based indoor positioning is superior to other technologies in terms of ease of implementation and positioning accuracy, stable positioning is not guaranteed due to unstable Wi-Fi signal characteristics in the various real environment. Recently, as a part of efforts to supplement the Wi-Fi-based positioning system, researches on positioning method using a geomagnetic field are being spotlighted. This can be considered as a sign that users who demand location-based service has increased. Positioning method using a geomagnetic field can be applied to various areas. Geomagnetic field-based positioning can provide more convenient service to users through fusion with facilities, for instance, public transportation which is closely related to users' real life. In the case of a subway, if an accurate train time schedule is provided, many users will get better services. In this study, we developed a systematic and an efficient geomagnetic based positioning method. This method provides stop and running conditions of trains for setting up more accurate and reliable system. Through this system, we tried to offer more stable indoor positioning service and to make the location-based services widespread.","PeriodicalId":414782,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Vision, Image and Signal Processing","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122035309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ISL is established in GNSS not only for inter-satellite communication but also for inter-satellite pseudo-range measurement. However, only one link can be established in the every moment for a satellite. Therefore, contact plan, which comprises all forthcoming network communication opportunities among satellites, needs to be carefully designed to accommodate the constraints of both inter-satellite pseudo-range measurement and communication. In this paper, we focus on the contact plan design problems considering the data transmission between satellites and ground stations. We present a method of contact plan based on maximum matching to improve the performance of inter-satellite ranging and communication. Through the trade-off between two specific solutions, different performance is achieved. The simulations evaluate the performance of the solutions in the final.","PeriodicalId":414782,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Vision, Image and Signal Processing","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131426985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each author has a unique writing style which is revealed by analyzing statistical features of his/her text. Traditionally, statistical features such as word frequencies and n-gram character frequencies were used. Such features depended on language properties and not just on the identity of the author. Alternatively, text features consisting of blocks of 8 consecutive bytes extracted from documents, were used to identify authors. A set of distinct blocks for each author is determined by analyzing text known to be written by that author. Given text of unknown authorship, its distinct blocks are extracted and compared to the set of unique distinct blocks for each known author. The author of the text is then identified as the one who has the highest overlap between his/her distinct blocks and those of the text. This method was tested on Arabic and English texts with 100% accuracy. The language independence of the method is tested in this paper. The method is applied to Spanish, French and German texts. Using this method, the authors of the texts were identified with an accuracy of 100% proving that this method is indeed language independent.","PeriodicalId":414782,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Vision, Image and Signal Processing","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129027868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
